I love this series. 100% is the books that has made me realize I was being a dumb reading snob and hadn’t given things the chance they deserved. No more TBR focus on just what people deem the “standard must haves”.
I love this series! I bought the first book at NorWesCon in 2023, at Matt's table. 2 days later, I'd finished it and came back for books 2 and 3! I love the series and can't wait for the next book!
*me holding a sledgehammer aimed at *somebody's* ankles when Matt says he thinks there will only be 10 Carl & Donut books.... and... *me wanting to give Matt a hug when he talks about the mental-health struggles that are tied to how long he spends writing a book. Love you, Matt. Thank you for bringing Carl & Donut (and alllll the rest) into my life.
The scene he is talking about with Travis and Patric interacting being the funniest thing he’s ever written… I laughed out loud at work so loud someone walked across the warehouse to ask me what the hell I was doing.
My entire family is a DCC fan - like the genetics it started with Dad (Heyo). But seriously, Matt is really telling a fun, crazy story. And it's great...BUT let's give credit also to Soundbooth Theater - DCC's brilliant audio partner. I've had countless people say the audiobook is WHY they fell in love with the story. The story is amazing but the audiobook is the organism after a great date.
I love this series too. My husband and I are making our way through the books in evenings after work. Matt dinniman has created many captivating characters that feel so real.my husband and I already have so many inside jokes based on the books.
He is like Aleron Kong's twin from another mother..... Cashing in on the series and putting it out again with a "theatrical version" as a giant money grab while the writer's block has froze the series
