We ended up using the Skidoo Dot 4. After some quick research couldn't find any clear information on if Dot 5 is ok. Hoping someone will comment if Dot 5 is ok.
My understanding is that DOT 5 is silicone based and is not compatible with DOT 3 or 4 fluid and perhaps not compatible with the components of a DOT 3/4 brake system. I have heard that if you want to switch to 5 you need to completely clean out the previous fluids. In general, the switch is not made.
This was perfect. Never knew doing my brakes was so damn easy! Cheers 🍻
Mine won’t stiffen up tried everything even rebuilt the brake master cylinder
So did you end up replacing the Dot5 with the Dot4 later after this video? Looks like you filled it with Dot5 but video says you used Dot4.
I ended up switching to Dot4. I was scared.
So did you use the DOT 4 Skidoo or the NAPA DOT 5 purple ?
