Recently picked up a darker brown leather hat with a wire brim. My first hat in years since my straw hat I had growing up. Matched it with some square toe cowboy boots with wranglers and a button up black Tommy shirt with the sleeves rolled up for my county fair rodeo & stuff.
Any time spent talking cowboy hats is time well spent. First video of yours I’ve watched. I’ll be watching more. I wear mine on a regular basis; lots of nice comments.

Do you think that I should go for a leather or felt hat? The weather here is mixed every week, I have long hair that may or may not make my head sweat in a hat. My dad even wears a leather but it shrunk do to the rain so he stretched it and it got misformed. He says get felt but he hasn't tried it himself but I can say I do like the look of leather hats.
Ive never had a leather hat. So i honestly couldnt tell you. Felt hats are great, you can wear them year round but id suggest getting a straw for when it gets above 80 degrees I probably will be wearing a straw for the next 4 months here in Texas lol Go to a store and try both, leave with which ever one you like better. Leather will probably be best for wet weather but my felt has been through several rain storms
You’re entertaining! Can you give advice on what to do with the leather pull tabs in the back of my Ariat western Chelsea boots since my jeans keep getting stuck on them when I sit down and stand up. Should I just cut them off?

Hmmm, I would say try some longer jeans if they keep riding up to the pull straps and maybe a boot cut or something wider would work better for the lower Chelsea. I haven't worn Chelsea boots myself so i am not sure. I wouldn't cut them off but that is up to you. Unless it is a cheap fabric tab on the back of the boot, idk I dont wear that style myself, hope this helped at least a little bit

I wouldnt be embarrassed wearing it. I never wore or brought anything to school that I was afraid would get messed up. Kids are destructive, just how it is lol One thing i learned going through school is to not care what people think about that kind of stuff. 4 years later you probably wont see half of those people again
Sorry I’m late with this comment. But my head is pretty small, and the hats never fit me very good. I have the two finger thing above my eyebrows, but the hat is always so close to my ears, where usually it’s barely touching them. I’ve tried putting those little foam things in the sweat band to try and fix that, I’ve put them in all different spots to see if it helps and it doesn’t really do anything. Do you know a different way to get it to sit better on the sides?
No worries man. It seems like this hat may be too big for you and you have a more long oval head shape. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to get more foam pieces or get some ducktape to put on the inside of the sweatband on each side. Put your hat on and try to put your fingers in the hat. look for the places with the most gaps and start there. hope this helps any
I’ve got a question. I haven’t worn a cowboy hat in years but I’m looking to get one next weekend. I live in the hottest part of Arizona and it was 118 today by the cars gauge. Should I get a straw hat or should I buy a light colored felt like a tan one?
Thats a tough one. Both would work. Cause if it is dry af you need to sweat to bring your temp down and the felt will help with that but straws are good at breathability. But with felts in more arid climates are great because it gets cold at night. I would try a felt, try one on in store and ser what they are wearing there. Hope that helped

I wear my cowboy hat correctly. I have and wear alot of baseball style hats. But i really like a cowboy hat in the summer their really comfortable and help in keeping a cool head...bahaha 🤣🤣

@@jaytay7989 well id say that depends on you and what you like. If it is a wide brim, try to crease it a bit more. If all else fails you can get it cut. Unless it is a straw hat that has a metal band at the edges which most of the store bought ones do. And some people like to keep the brim flat, you can ask the people at the store and the person shaping the hat what they think. But ultimately its what you would like
