My gran worked as a maid for many a wealthy person of old times and told a story about one of the ladies she served. Couple had two daughters and one day she was teaching them how to cook and one of the daughters asked her why they had to learn that if they had maids. Mother simply answered "Just because your father can afford maids doesn't mean your husband will be able to". So yeah, what happens if the guy can pay all the bills but can't afford any "extras"? Will she cook, clean, take care of the kids? Will she stick around if there's no dinners, vacations, spas, pretty clothes, maids, etc? We know the answer and it's NO. Because you taught her to be an entitled brat.

I worked when my husband and I was first married. Once I had our first child, it was his responsibility to provide financially and I raised the kids and took care of the house. It has worked well for a long time. Now it’s working for my children and their spouses. Just teach your children to be responsible with their money from an early age, male or female, and to be a contributing member of society.

You know what I taught my daughter? Make sure you have a job that can pay all the bills because you never know what can happen in life. We need to teach these girls how to build a life w her man in this day and age, where every household is at least a 2 payer household, and the days of being a butcher and able to buy a home, raise 2 kids, stay at home wife, and yearly vacations don't happen anymore. That died in the 70s. Women can't just wait at the finish to pick the winners anymore, we men want the girl that's gunna join the race w you and help and support eachother throughout as we carve a life out for the both of us.

I paid all the Bill's for 14 years and my Wife always knew it was up to her if she got a job.
