What an amazing conversation to stir up the hearts of Christians to serve Christ REGARDLESS of where we are in History. Christ be praised, he is on the throne!
Thank you for changing the conversations in America from waiting for the rapture to lets go spread the good news! Culture is changing and God has equipped us for every good work.
This pastor Douglas should write Christian motivational speeches, he gets me fired up to be a Christian. His flock is probably spoiled with awesome inspirational sermons to last them all week.
This understanding of Christ’s kingdom is really enlightening by how plainly it is seen in scripture. This perspective is really challenging how I have been taught about how God’s kingdom works out. Thanks for your faithfulness in proclaiming God’s word in the public square.
Glenn Coleman I come from a dispensational background myself. I studied eschatology quite a bit, and this just makes more sense. But it’s OK to be a bit agnostic about it first. I think that’s most peoples problem, they won’t admit that they do not know what they are talking about, that they are just parroting what they have been indoctrinated with. God bless
@@genesiskeglar6372 oh my goodness I agree. When I was confronted with post-mill beliefs, I was kind of just... in a state of suspended disbelief and not sure what to believe. I was raised into a pre-trib family and then I moved to post-trib, which left me feeling completely defeated and deflated, and then this guy dares to say the Millenia is NOW? I was so confused and it took me at least 6 months to come around to actually see it.
@@shelbycurry721 That’s totally understandable. We not only hear these type of beliefs in church, but we live in a very apocalyptic minded time. It’s in the cultural mindset through and through, so it’s a bit of a stunner to hear something that different.
@@genesiskeglar6372 Post mil makes no sense whatso ever. History gives it the lie and so does the Bible. Doug Wilson’s Postmillenialism (we the church are making everything better and better until we save the entire world) doesn’t match history and he knows it. The world is going to Hell in a handbasket around him spiritually and still he is Pollyanna. He tries to save his pet theory by swallowing up the past 100 years of disaster in “you have to look at 500 year intervals” but that doesn’t work either. We will look at that in a minute but first how do we measure growth of the “kingdom”? Is the Kingdom the gospel, The Church and if so which church, Christendom, technology, Standard of living or a set of ideas. He doesn’t seem to know and this is important. You cannot measure improvement if you won’t say what you are measuring. Okay, let’s look at Doug’s Four 500 year time eras since 30 AD. The first 500 years takes us historically to the fall of Rome (western Roman Empire). In the early part of this 500 years the Good News about Jesus is definitely spread rapidly from Judea throughout Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. The Western Hemisphere and Oceania is still largely untouched. Seems like progress BUT halfway through much of the visible Church joins hands with the polytheistic and oppressive Roman Empire and becomes the state religion. Is this a step forward or backwards. Well certainly wider spread of unpersecuted churches but a definite nosedive in the purity of the message which will lead to near total spiritual blindness for 1200 years. Not so good. Second 500 years is the age Of Islam and the Mongols. This is a big step backwards for the Kingdom from almost any conceivable measure. From a visible church standpoint, most of Asia is lost to Christianity. North Africa goes under. So do parts of Spain and Eastern Europe. Spiritually this is a very Dark time. We used to call it the Dark Ages. In Christendom (largely Europe), education declines, technology declines, missionary efforts are almost non-existent, the Church has become a secular empire ruled from the Vatican. Not a slow growth of the mustard seed. Third Era - The Crusades and the Renaissance. Well Technology is back on track but this is due to the Crusades stealing back Greco-Roman tech from Islam. Unfortunately they also stole Islam’s evangelism plan - spreading the faith by the sword. Not a good trade from a spiritual standpoint. The Roman church gets more and more secular and oppressive. It actually fields armies and wages war. Spiritually “the kingdom” is a cesspool which brings about the 4th era we are in. Circa 1500 brings us to two men and new movements they represent - Luther and Chris Columbus. The Reformation and European Exploration. The Cesspool of Rome finally stinks so bad that God raises up men like Luther, Huss, Wycliffe, and Tyndale determined to restore the Church and put the Bible and its message back in everybody’s hands. In the search for wealth and power, European exploration finally accidentally opens up The Western Hemisphere, sub-Sharan Africa, and Oceania to missionary efforts and the Great Commision of Mat 27:19-20 is finally fulfilled. The Gospel has made it to the ends of the earth. Unfortunately, much of the effort is by the Catholic Church still using the Islamic method of the sword and conquest - see South and Central America. Two brutal Protestants - Calvin and Knox - also adopt this methodology in a postmillennial spirit of saving the world whether it wants to be saved or not. This era, while a slight improvement on the last two, maybe, is not all progress. It is largely 500 years of literal civil war inside Christendom. The Church is fractured into a thousand warring denominations. It is the Spanish Inquisition. The Hugonaught War in France. The Hundred Years War. The War in Ireland. Napoleon, and the list goes on. The last hundred years of this period has been a bloodbath wiping out any spiritual gains of the prior 400. The Kaiser, Wilson, Churchhill, Stalin, Hitler and Roosevelt vie to see who can kill the most Christians and other humans. Morality and Church attendance has taken an ever-steepening nosedive. Tech is up but that just steepens the plunge. Communism murders millions between wars and so does abortion in “Christian” countries. We no longer know how many genders there are and we have returned to embracing Greco - Roman polytheism and homosexuality. How is this an improvement? Enjoy the internet and air travel. That is about all we got in net. And not a word aout dispensationalism which is also laughably wrong.
Wow! Realizing as Doug was speaking around 7:15 that I - ME - MYSELF, I am a subdued enemy, my rebellion has been brought under the feet of Christ by HIS grace, through the regeneration of the Spirit, and the gifts He’s given me of faith and repentance. I have recognized for years that I was at enmity with God and was a rebel sinner saved by grace but it’s hitting me that I personally am one of the enemies under his feet. And I’m grateful for it.
@@johnbreitmeier3268 What you’re saying regarding our adoption is true, I’m in agreement that we are now children of God through the adoption that is in Christ. However, I once was a child of wrath and an enemy of God. It may be better said that my enmity with God was placed under the feet of Christ and He rid me of it by His grace. My rebel heart has been subdued, captured, won by the overwhelming love of Christ, and His display of that love, in His death on behalf of this wretched sinner.
So many people here mislead by contemporary trends in eschatology, interpreting scripture through the lens of their limited view of history instead of in the biblical and full historical contexts. Thanks to both of you for being willing to go against the popular modern trends and dig deeper into the truth!
"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:34-36)
That part about the dude watching the bad news on his tv and walking into kitchen with modern fridge and complaining to his wife that it's the last days.....this sounded vaguely familiar..hmmm
Thankfully we as brothers and sisters in Christ can lovingly disagree on eschatological issues as they are not critical to salvation. Jesus Christ and faith in Him alone is what saves...
@@gigiis526 a preterist is a different story for sure as this I believe is a flat ignorance of Scripture- but those who differ opinion to me who is Pre-Millenial and that the rapture of the Church is pre-tribulation, surely someone who disagrees with me on this can still agree with me on the only means of salvation being through Jesus Christ alone by grace through faith alone? Jesus is God in the flesh, God is Triune- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Surely someone who holds to these truths and believes them truly is a brother/sister in Christ? Unless you consider those who differ with you on eschatology not saved? In which case you probably declare a large portion of the Body of Christ unsaved(in your opinion)... what say you?

There are several accounts where the apostles thought it was the end of the world when they were caught in storms on the Sea of Galilee. It wasn't :) I imagine if we could see the mustard tree of the Kingdom actually growing, we would see times when the enemy is throwing all it can at it, and while it might "suffer" for a time, potentially loose a "weak branch" or two, the tree prevails and is the stronger for it. At other times, the season is perfect for unhindered, exponential growth. I imagine the enemy even tries to build walls around the tree to contain it. But you know trees - those roots get into everything and eventually the enemy's walls fall because the tree has either cracked the foundations, or, the tree has fought to grow so much that it just pushes those suckers over. It took 500 years or so for the promise of Messiah in Amos to be fulfilled. The fight against abortion (et al) is winnable, I truly believe that, but if it takes another 50 or 100 or even 200 years to purge it from history, if that's the plan, so be it. So often we judge God by our own limited life spans. It's nothing for God to say "eh, it's going to take a few generations to deal with this one, but it's cool - I've got this, and by the way, I win ;)".
J Hankins Do you think in the perspective of someone from from the 30’s, 40’s or 50’s that Racism had increased? We wont know the day nor the our but these signs have been brewing for a long time. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:37-39)
As it was in the days of Noah means *they* as they have always done spread violence in all the lands to provoke God to anger, hence they only have until the 5th seal before God pours out his long awaited, promised vengeance upon them.

I love you too brothers very much💗 I am concerned you are like the virgins that are not watching nor waiting for their groomsman. Jesus says my MY KINGDOM IS NOT of this world. Can you go to the middle eastern nations, and tell them to receive the gospel and set up the kingdom over there? Really? Its not going to happen. We are called to save souls, not set up the kingdom. You are working in the arm of the flesh. In fact Jesus says when he comes back, will HE find ANY FAITH ON THE EARTH? It will be as in the days of Noah. Please my brothers, you need to discern the times and the seasons. Love to you both. Ann in Dallas🥰
All I really know is my brother told me that in the end times when the rapture happens that What is good will be considered bad and what is bad will be called good. During the rapture (I was taught) that the rapture will be the worst time to be alive and a Christian because there will be more and more worse than how it is now. And my youth pastor said no one is for sure for sure when Jesus is coming back or if it is the end times now it is really honestly up to God to know. All my youth pastor said was just live everyday like Jesus could come any moment. And trust In Him.
Carla, you are cofusing the rapture and the Great Tribulation. What you are talking about is the Great Tribulation which Jesus talks about in Mat 24:15-28 which is the worst time in human existence. The Rapture is the Return of Jesus to gather up the Church both dead and living and set things right on earth. In verses 29-31 Jesus says this takes place IMMEDIATELY AFTER the Tribulation, not before or thousands of years after. The Left Behind Books says the Rapture comes first, Doug Wilson say the Great Tribulation, the worst time in human history, already happened in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Herod's Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD. He says after that things have just kept getting better and better and that eventually the Church will save the whole world before Jesus returns. This isjust plain wrong. The last hundred years alone of history was way worse than 70 AD. Jesus never said the whole world would be saved. Instead he said few would find the path to salvation. Doug is wrong. I hope that helps.

@@alexnicholson3915 Sure. This will be brief and miss a lot but you will get the gist. Durbin and Wilson teach what is called POST Millennialism. This simply means that Jesus will not return until after the millennium, a 1 thousand year period of Godly rule on Earth - by (wait for it) Jesus the Messiah. This Post Mil belief is thus idiotic and unscriptural - an oxymoron. The only explicit reference to this period being a “millennium”, meaning lasts 1000 years, is in Rev 20:1-10 which oddly enough comes right after Rev 19 which describes the bodily return of Jesus, the Word of God, to Earth at the Battle of Armageddon. So Rev 19 has Jesus returning before the Millennium and Rev 20 has Jesus ruling ON EARTH during the 1000 year “millennium”, so Jesus does NOT only return AFTER the Millenium. You have to be brain dead not to see Post Mil is wrong. Once you realize that there is no saving this oxymoron. Dougie the OX and Jeff the Moron say they got this teaching from Catholic scholar Augustine the Hippo (Alright of Hippo). This also where Calvinism supposedly came from which tells you something about that oxymoron. They base this idea mostly on wishful thinking. They say that the millennium started in 70AD with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, an event not recorded in the Bible even though Joh wrote Revelation 20 years later. From that point on we have according to Ox and Moron and the Hippo been living in the 1000 year reign of the Messiah with the Church running the world and everything getting better and better until it is fit for Jesus to come back. EXCEPT, of course, that 1) the church does NOT run even most of the world 2) Things are definitely not getting better and better 3) so far their “millennium” has lasted over 1950 years which is a bit over 1000. I would give Augie the Hippo a partial pass on the insanity of those mistakes because he died in 430 AD and 1) The church WAS kinda running most of HIS Roman world by then 2) His world WAS getting better for Christians - No one being eaten by lions. And 3) The 1000 years still had 600 to go. Jeff and Doug are hard put to find a braincell between them, however. Nothing of spiritual importance happened in 70 AD. 1) Jesus does not return. We are still waiting. Even Doug and Jeff are still waiting. 2) The Temple had been dead and useless for 40 years by this time. The end of Temple and Torah was in 30 AD at the crucifixion when the Temple veil split. Mat 27:51 According to the Talmud, even the day of Atonement offering was rejected 40 straight times after that. 3) The New Testament Age began with the Death and resurrection in 30AD Not the Temple destruction in 70AD. I cannot tell you what most Christians think but I can tell you what Jesus and the Bible say about the endtimes. The most compact passage is what Jesus has to say in Matthew 24. Here Jesus says his return will not only be Pre Millennial (before he starts ruling Earth directly) but Post Tribulational (immediately after the worst time in human history). 70 Ad was a bad year to be Jewish but it was not the worst time of even Jewish History much less world history. WWII beats it all hollow and worse is to come. In Mat 24 Jesus answers 3 not 1 question and this is where the Ox, the Moron and The Hippo get confused. Mat 24:3 after Jesus says the Temple would be destroyed his disciples ask 1) When is this destruction going to happen?, 2) when are you coming back?. And 3) When is the end of the world (Ox wants to go all dispensational and says Aeon means AGE as in Torah age, but the word can mean age or world and most scholars for 2000 years but say it means world here. Answer to #1: In this generation and 70 Ad was just barely. (V 34) #2 was Answered as a) “immediately after the great Tribulation, the worst time in human history (V.29-31) Clearly NOT 70 AD and b) You will not know when I return (v. 42-46) #3 was answered similarly No one knows (V 36) Does that help?
Yes, it is getting dark, and Jesus told us to let our lights shine. Scientifically speaking, darkness is nothing more than the absence of light. The gospel needs to go where the world is dark. Praise God for His goodness, and be certain, come what may, it is for His glory! Lord bless you!
Postmillennialists are making the same mistake as the Jews of Christ's day: Looking for a worldly kingdom and a worldly king. They will, in essence, help build the kingdom of the Antichrist.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 ASV These men are talking about salvation of the world EXACTLY HOW WE AS HUMANS WOULD HAVE IT. That WE are the hero’s for being such great servants and disciples that others salvation is our doing and not by his grace that brings us to God through belief in Christ. Seriously this way of thinking of salvation is very easy to understand bc now it makes us feel a narcissistic heroism for people who come to know the world and we can boast that look at how many souls I saved through MY good works not by grace. The fact that these men think they can fully wrap their heads around God’s ways and rationalize everything in their human brains is so concerning. I pray that God will open your eyes to the deceiving of your hearts and false teaching. That by grace you would be humbled and stop seeking fame or glory by bragging of the children you’ve saved or being the true receiver of Biblical understanding. Again I pray that I’d be forgiven for slandering these men if my words aren’t true but it doesn’t feel like what they talk about is pointing to Jesus as the savior rather he was just a player and now we are just as significant.
I'm postmillennial, but I also understand the counter-argument. But I can't tell you how many people aren't post-mil, but love the positive premise. So in that light, I would live with the optimism that God obviously has the power to save the whole world, even if you don't believe it will work out that way. God bless you brother in your walk and study.

... i believe both these men are my brothers in Christ and do good things for Christ, but im on the opposite end of the biblical outlook for this world. The New Testament says.... "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." 2 Timothy 3:13 KJV i dont believe we will evangelize the world. The Bible gives tons of evidence that describes most of the worlds population will choose evil and not God. "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13-14 KJV "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3:19 KJV They quote that Jesus didnt come to condemn the world......but fail to mention He was speaking of His first coming! Jesus gives this parable to describe His 2nd coming...... "The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13:38-42 KJV The victory is ALREADY won at the cross!!! But we have to recieve His free gift of salvation by Faith. Most people wont do that. Scripture says "But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" John 1:12 KJV We are in the LAST of the last days, in my opinion. The Bible and current world conditions are lined up exactly as foretold. I wish these brothers would reconsider.
You forgot to ask, the last days of WHAT? The last days of the Old Covenant, that's what! The scriptures we read are written at a certain point in history, to take them out of that history and bring them into our present time is to take them out of context. They, the apostles were waiting for the Last Days of the old covenant. The destruction of the Temple and the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy in His Olivet Discourse that not one stone would be left upon another. That happened in 70 A.D. Here is the fruit of end times teaching. Which was NOT a part of the early church fathers teaching it was invented by Darby and Schofield in the 1830's. Your belief has a history and it's not very old. Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version (KJV) 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. So I ask you, "What is the fruit of the end times teaching?" Lazy deceived Christians who don't get involved with spreading the message of Christ redeeming the world. Why polish brass on a sinking ship. This place is going to hell and I want out. Teaching this message to children so that they don't build for the future because they are taught there isn't one. In so doing the Christian is the one who has given up instead of OVERCOMING. The worthless teaching of comic book Christianity where we get unbiblically raptured. There is no rapture in the Bible. End Times teaching is EVIL FRUIT.
I've really changed my eschatology because of many of the points here. I'm by nature an optimist and this is the only option if you believe that Christ wins and is working even now. Of course the biblical support for dispensationalism and rapture etc is vacant
Agreed Also .... Matthew 24:37-39 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Keith, they also use a different history since the world is clearly not getting better and better and more moral and Christian. I is ismply wishful thinking.
Nope, you just don't understand what you're reading. You have the wrong audience in that passage of scripture. The "few" are the people of Isreal Jesus was preaching to who believed. Compare the "broad road" to Mat 23:38 - “See! Your house is left to you desolate; Otherwise you have a major problem with harmonizing "the few" to "the multitudes" in Gen 15:5 and Rev 5:11-14.
@@toddcote4904 “nope, you just don’t understand what you’re reading.” Well, I’m glad you’re here with your superior intellect to enlighten us. What hubris.
The first time I heard Jeff Durbin explain his eschatological views, I thought he was naive, or possibly crazy. Now I can’t see it any other way. For me, there is just no other way to interpret the Millenia that is cohesive with the whole Bible. Really glad I heard him talk because he was the first I heard explain postmillenialism as an actual option and not a laughingstock.
Sometimes first impressions are best. He is deceived. The world is not getting better and more Christian. Jesus clearly said most people would not find the path to salvation but most would go to destruction. The Great Tribulation of Mat 24, the worst time in human history according to Jesus, clearly did not happen in 70 AD and Jesus said he would return for us "Immediately after the Tribulation of those days." He did not come back in 70 or 71 or any time since so far. Post millenialism is dead to anyone who can read.
@@philipmurray9796 Perhaps not, but having read Flavius Josephus' account of that war , I dare say that I have as good or better an idea as you do. What I do know is that even by the most exaggerated accounts, it was nowhere near the worst event in history, even if we are just considering the Jewish point of view. The Temple had been destroyed before and had been useless anyway since the veil of the Holy of Holies tore at Jesus' death. At worst maybe 1 million Jews died in 70 AD but 6 million died in WWII death camps alone. Nothing happened to most of the world in 70 AD. Only Judea was affected. WWI and WWII affected most of the world and killed way more. US bombings of Japan alone were worse than 70 AD, much more so the rest of the deaths in that war. 70 Ad was certainly a bad year to be Jewish, but from the rejection of their Messiah circa 30 AD to 1948 AD there was seldom a good year to be a Jew. That is one really bad run of poor luck. None of that answers my original point, however. Mat 24:29-31 is quite clear. Jesus says: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days" that he will return and gather "his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another." That absolutely did NOT happen yet. Thus 70 AD was NOT the great Tribulation of Mat 24:21. Final answer.
@@johnbreitmeier3268 John MacArthur has a great sermon in premillenium pre tribulation rapture. I fully agree with JM. Post trib totally decimates the flow and context of Revelation. I love Jeff Durbin and Doug Wilson, but they are COMPLETELY backwards on eschatology.
@@mariosangermano5709 Jeff and Doug are plainly willful idiots on eschatology but so is John MacArthur. If you agree with JM about pre-trib rapture, you call Jesus a liar. As I pointed out above Jesus plainly and unambiguously says that the rapture, the gathering of the elect from the 4 winds and from one end of heaven to the other, takes place "Immediately after the tribulation of those days." After that, it does not really matter if JM's misunderstanding of the "flow" of Revelation would be interrupted by Jesus' understanding of the order of his return, Jesus is right and prevails. Besides Revelations "flow" is interrupted several times by the nature of the structure of the book which is a 3 fold repetition of the events of the end of time in spiral form - The 7th seal contains the seventh trumpets which expands on the Day of the Lord. The 7th trumpet IS the 7 bowls of wrath which even further expands on the Day of the Lord's wrath. It is NOT a straight thru narrative.
I love the way this worldview of end times motivates the church, the idea of being apart of Christendom 2.0 is fascinating. Can someone please explain Luke 21:28 from this perspective? Is it not end times it is talking about, because this verse was written to the early church as though it was something they would be apart of. Because to say the current church is just in its infantile state I think pulls motivation way from the church as well.
@@kylec8950 No he may be a bit direct but he is right.
“As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out. If they say, 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:3-31 ESV
THIS!! THIS has been my heart and thinking for so long, and I’ve finally heard someone sum it up. It’s like I haven’t had a way to convey, but here, it has been conveyed perfectly. Such a blessing! Thank you 🙌🏻
Narrow is the gate that leads to righteousness, and few find it. Judgement begins at the house of God, and if the righteous are scarcely saved, what then for the sinner?
So the idea of Jesus saying he’s coming soon is taken to say everything or most everything happened in 70AD because that was “soon”. Then we go on to say the church is in the infancy stage nearly 2000 years later ? Solid preaching, great job witnessing, just don’t think I’m going to fit in with y’all’s eschatology.
Crushed & destroyed under the feet of JESUS. Jesus didn't die for sin. Jesus died for sinners. Jesus didn't die for precepts & principles, He died for people, He died for law breakers ❤💔👑
This is a great conversation. If we take a closer look at (Revelation 12:7-12) as well as look back on when satan tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11) we learn that satan is very much active in this world as he was back then until Jesus himself returns and bounds satan up for a thousand years. The devil knows that day is closer now than ever before and he isn't going to go down without a fight. Here is the beauty in all this; Just like the serpent thought he was a step ahead of God in the garden when he deceived Adam and Eve, yet he was really deceiving himself because God knew it before the creation , so it will be on the great and dreadful day of the Lord. Satan will bring his deceived nations against the apple of God's eye and the end of this corrupt age will come in an instant, at the voice of the Archangel and the sound of the last Trump.
There are very specific end time signs Jesus tells us to watch for to know when He will come back and they are all happening like birth pangs of a pregnant woman in labor.
“God did not send his son to condemns the world” ... was this not referring to Jesus’ coming to earth as a man? In which He didn’t come to condemns but to offer himself as a sacrifice? That’s how I understand this. Is this not different than His second coming?
We have been in the End Times since the day Jesus went back up to Heaven after promising His disciples that He would one day return. The Bible also tells us that to God, one day is to a thousand years as a thousand years is to one day and that not even the Son knows the moment of His return. I've no doubt that Christ and His army are sharpening their swords and readying their weapons of war and it's highly plausible that in our lifetime, the end will come but that is not to say anything is for certain as their have been times before that have been darker than anything we have witnessed in modern church history. The church has this attitude of: "It's all ending anyways so let's just prepare for it and prognosticate about it. Besides, we've done all we can." And it is that very belief that is going to make us unprepared for Christ's return. What would we do if God came down to earth and said "I'm not making my move in your lifetime. Keep preaching."? Would we even know at this point how to move forward with that? The end is coming but we've no clue when nor do we have any evidence to suggest it is either near or far. We need to make sure that we don't get so caught up watching the planes fly off that we end up missing our own flights. I loved this video a lot, @apologiastudios. Thank you for all that you guys do in the advancement of the gospel and bolstering the church! God bless you guys!
J Hankins Yes but my point is that we've seen the signs and symbols of the end times forever now. Long before you or I were conceived. That's my point.
SASD Ghost Good luck reasoning with J Hankins who's probably sitting in a leather chair in a climate controlled house with food in the fridge in the west. Meanwhile he tells us how bad it is because he can see the badness with his eyes. He is blind and has no idea what the early church suffered (even though you can read about it in the Bible!) nor what happens to converts around the world.
I appreciate your lightheartedness. It's very popular to think the world will end. Look at all the YT false prophets. It's a shame and blasphemy to Christ's name and the Bible. For just under 200 years now America has been "drunk on the millennium" as one historian put it. Since you love the Bible enough to study for 40 years consider that the Bible must have had meaning to it's original audience. "I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation" must mean something to the seven churches that "are" (were) in Asia. Real places, real people. All of this new world order, one world currency, Illuminati garbage is not fitting for Christians. Yes, it's ahistorical, Christians were not only not-loony, they invented The West. And yes, some of these modern teachings are non-Biblical or even un-Biblical.
@J Hankins It is crazy to me that you believe all past believers were living in futile hoping Christ would return for them, but that it is just OUR generation that can ultimately "truly" claim those promises.
I still don't understand the complexity of eschatology. It's so confusing to the point where you just give up studying it and let God reveal it in the end because there's no clearifying facts in the bible about what comes first and last.
This is surprising they believe that the whole world would be converted? That does not fit with anything the bible shows. People always fall away from God. That's why He always needs to step in and show that we need Him and we are hopeless without Gods intervention. And theres so many prophecies happening today with the middle east and Israel. This is weird.
It seems he defeats all of his enemies while seated at the Father's side, but the last one, death, he defeats when he comes. So not all are defeated while at the Father's side.
Dispensationalism. The order in which God has brought all things to fruition. Chicken before the egg. Because you think you see the mind of God working. Do not interpret that as understanding His mind. There is order and God has made plans since He set the foundations of the earth and stitched you together in your mothers womb. Ask and you shall receive.
So if I understand these two correctly, things are going to just keep improving in the world until Jesus returns? We are reading two different Bibles if that is what they are saying.
Hope can even be used by satan to offer false hope... The world will only get darker and darker. Darker than it has ever been before Jesus returns. It'd be a pipedream to think it would get better! Lol
@@brittneybracht7059 - it is getting better. Daniel Mann until Jesus takes the deed as in the book of Revelation, Satan still has control. Just like when Jesus didn’t argue Satan had them to give during the temptation. Yes Jesus owns them but Satan has possession until Jesus by force takes them at His second coming. And an army will be assembled at that time trying to stop it from happening. Scripture
God is good.. the lord has been speaking to me about this and washing me of the assumptions the church has thrust on me. God is leading me to truth. Biblical truth
A very interesting view douglas presented. Currently interested in solidifying what position I hold in eschatology, after abandoning a pretrib rapture quite a while ago. I'm just ultra confused on the millennial debate so pray for me there.
Solomon Mike .....whats the confusion about? Jesus returns pre-mill. Read His Parable........ The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." Matthew 13:38-43 KJV
john doe I'd have to read up more fully on Pre/A/Post mil proof systems than to rely on one passage and take all of scripture into account. Thanks anyway.
Solomon Mike ......you should read and BELIEVE your Bible, not a system created by men. The scripture i pointed you to is from the Lord Himself. He says when He returns, the people will be seperated, some will be burned up and the others will go into the kingdom of His Father. Thats about as simple as one can make it. Also Revelation19 tells of Jesus return to earth and destroys the Beast and false prophet. The next chapter it says Satan is bound for a 1000 yrs and the tribulation saints are made alive again to reign with Christ for a 1000yrs!! The rest are not alive again until AFTER the 1000yrs are done. "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection." Revelation 20:4-5 KJV Christ returns before the millennium based on scripture. Pre-mill. I hope i dont sound antagonist, i really just want to shine some light if i can. We are called to help each other when we can. Even if you dont accept it, just remember men create systems all the time to try to figure God out, but God can NOT be put into a "box/system". HES GOD!!!! God Bless you brother
Christian Uploads .......its not a system to say Jesus returns before the 1000yr reign. Jesus clearly teaches that Himself. And thats the subject at hand. Anything else you want to try to trap me with??? just like the Pharisees
Great video. This blew my mind! The video shows the wrong verse number for the scripture in Psalm 22. (It's not 7)So I read the whole psalm to find it. I have read that many times, and seeing.that in a new light, it makes so much sense. How did I not see this? Thank you Apologia Studios.
For those who believe Christ “returned” in 70 AD, remember Matthew chapter 25 follows chapter 24. There are no chapter divisions. Read Matthew 25:31-46 and tell me if these details happened in 70 AD. No way. Also those who say the “end of the age” was the end of the Jewish system (temple, priest, covenant, etc.) … read Matthew 13:36-42 where Jesus explains the parable and uses the phrase “end of the age”. Have these events Jesus spoke of happened yet? No way. Did they happen in 70 AD? No.
@ Ken 10001000 Hebrews 9:28 tells us exactly when and what the second coming is as I stated above replying to John Doe. 70 A.D. was the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy in His Olivet Discourse. The "second coming" is something else entirely. End of what age? the age THEY, Jesus and the Apostles were living in when this was written, the Old Covenant age. When this was written the world was pregnant with the New Covenant, experiencing its birth pangs. The Old Covenant sacrifice system was destroyed in 70 A.D. in a Jewish civil war started when the abomination that causes desolation was placed upon the altar in the temple. That was the bust of Caesar who demanded that Caesar be worshiped in the temple and the temple Jews agreed and the zealot Jews revolted and then came Titus who destroyed Jerusalem. It's all recorded in the works of Josephus.
Ken, your referring to Full or Hyper preterism, which is false. But Partial preterism is the most accurate and logical interpretation of Revelation. Revelation was written before the Tribulation of those days around 66A.D and distributed to the 7 churches to warn them of the coming Judgement and the man of sin who's name equalled 600, 60 and 6. His name in Hebrew germatia adding the vowels of letters was Kaiser Nero, Emperor Nero, who's nickname was "The Beast" .
Again, The second coming is a timeless event experienced at every believer's coming to Christ or, is the reality He comes to save us? In any event Hebrews 9:28 tells us that Jesus came the first time to deal with sin (on the cross) and comes the SECOND (coming) time to bring salvation to those who are seeking Him. I've had people argue that this couldn't be true because the Bible only says it once. I don't even have words to respond to that statement, it's so lacking. The entire 9th chapter is so chock full of the subject and culminating in the last sentence, what more proof does one need? The end times false doctrine is surely a principality whose fruit is evident all around us.
A few responses to my comment/question seem to be leaning on preterism. Can someone who holds to preterism tell me from the scripture I mentioned above (Matthew 13 and 25) if THOSE events happened in Jesus supposed return in 70 AD? How could they? I find that preterists love to mention Josephus as some grand "back-up". But that is a appealing to a non-believer historian. Why not simply and directly take the verses I mentioned before, and hold fast to them over some other view? They are truth ... about this age and the age to come. In Matthew 13 Jesus mentions what happens at the end of the age/world. Read it. In Matthew 25 Jesus tells us that all nations will be gathered together, and the sheep will be separated from the goats, and folks will be sent into everlasting punishment and others enter into life eternal. This did not happen in 70 AD.
Then Jesus is a liar and Christianity is a lie. Because these things MUST SOON TAKE PLACE. THIS generation (those standing listening to Him speak) will not pass away until all of these things take place. 70AD is A coming in judgment. The sign of a REAL prophet is that what he prophesies happens. If we are still waiting then Jesus is a liar because that generation has past and died. THE "second coming" is defined in Hebrews 9:28 and it is the TIMELESS event of salvation that will continue until the end of the earth as described in the "Gloria Patri" Ephesians 3:21. World without end.
"I can see the promise, I can see the future, You're the God of seasons; And I'm just in the winter If all I know of harvest, Is that it's worth my patience, Then if You're not done working God I'm not done waiting!" - Seasons - Hillsong
I want to say first that I love Brother Durbin. This however is one of the strangest views I have heard. Jesus even says “will the Son of man find faith when he returns” Luke 18:8. This view is so hard to see in scripture that you might could consider it if you throw out most of the New Testament. I’m really upset about this because I have learned so much from Brother Durbin. Now I will have to question his ability to teach scripture accurately. Very sad. Praying for you both to receive discernment. Narrow is the gate and few there be that find it ?
Nave Wilson by faith you have been healed not by works so that no man can boast. 😍 I was thinking about a reply I sent to a nother person on this post. Wish I could find it and delete it. Lol. I know my flesh is weak. It doesn't take much for me to realize that the only cure to this flesh that goes against God is to recieve my new body at rapture. Then I will never fight against my Lord again. Paul said he does the very thing he wants not to do. Heaven awaits.
The great tribulation is all about Gods finale judgment on sin. The church is not meant to take Gods wrath. Jesus took it in our place. Revelation 4:1 says come up here and I will show you things which must be here after. The church is mentioned in chapters 2 and 3 and not mentioned after 4. 1Thessalonian 4:17 Noah and the ark and Sodom and Gomorrah are examples of God removing the righteous before Gods judgment. In Jesus Name amen
Jeff Durban doesn’t teach any kind of works Salvation. Show me the video or writing where he does such a thing. I’ve listened to him for a while now- he certainly doesn’t preach any kind of works will save you. Also, it isn’t blasphemy to say that God has chosen ‘some vessels for wrath and others not’ Even if you disagree with Jeff it’s certainly NOT BLASPHEMY. Good grief. Why are people so quick to call other Christians ‘false teachers’ or ‘blasphemers’ or ‘heretics’ We should reserve that kind of talk for only the most obvious and extreme examples. I disagree with many Theologians- NT Wright for example- yet I don’t carelessly toss around those kinds of claims. Sickening.
Premillenial Dispensationalism is a tradition. The Church historically has NOT taught a secret rapture or 7 years of Tribulation. It's only about 200 years old.
The only issue I have is that so so many who are called to teach, fail to acknowledge that we did not sin on our own. Man did not fall on their own. When you fail to acknowledge the enemy and the roll they play in this fallen world, it really leaves such a gap for believers and you end up with a bunch of Christians who are ill equip to handle the world under biblical terms and an enemy running rampant, devouring the Elect slowly through those fiery darts. The satanic kingdom is on the horizon, knowledge is increasing, the world is in the birth pangs. Truly we are at the end. It is forecast to get so much worse, but at the rate we are advancing in technology, we will see Christ in no more than 15 years imo and that is a generous assessment. Do not lead the sheep to slaughter. Wake up and REALIZE where we are at in time.
Exactly. Those who run our society are very clear they intend to merge man and machine within this decade. These people seem completely blind to what's taking place in the world .
Thanks for this video. I'm a believer and advocate of Postmillenialism. I would just like to point out the bible references that need to be edited: @ 1:26 - Romans 15:12 should be Romans 5:12; @ 2:30 - Matthew 13:13 should be Matthew 13:33; @ 11:19 - Psalm 22:7 should be Psalm 22:27. Thank you. God bless your ministry!
I'm not. I understand it, let me give you a hint, Jesus Christ is the singular seed of Abraham (Galatians 3:16) not those who reject him. The end times is offensive to most as they worship those that reject the Lord.
Oscar Rivera they got psalms 22 7 way wrong... All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, Psalms 22:7 KJV bible.com/bible/1/psa.22.7.KJV
Love when he said, If my salvation, if my justification was down to my works, I’d be dammed for my good days. This is so true for all of us, truly humble. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
Ephesians 2:8 KJV

What an amazing conversation to stir up the hearts of Christians to serve Christ REGARDLESS of where we are in History. Christ be praised, he is on the throne!
Thank you for changing the conversations in America from waiting for the rapture to lets go spread the good news! Culture is changing and God has equipped us for every good work.
Really appreciate Doug and Jeff. Doug just seems to explain things so my little mind can comprehend.
Little mind? You might be a democrat...that's our specialty👍🏿
Postmill helps my mindset when we do evangelism
Same. Pastor Jeff has helped set a new fire in my heart for evangelism by helping me understanding the truth of Revelation and Christ Kingdom.
Agreed. I was for a long time post trib/pre wrath but that isn’t much better than pre trib. It’s still a negative view of the long game.
Uh, No! That is not what that verse means at all. If you are a Christian, you are not an enemy under God's feet but rather an adopted son.
@@johnbreitmeier3268
What you’re saying regarding our adoption is true, I’m in agreement that we are now children of God through the adoption that is in Christ.

There are several accounts where the apostles thought it was the end of the world when they were caught in storms on the Sea of Galilee. It wasn't :)
I imagine if we could see the mustard tree of the Kingdom actually growing, we would see times when the enemy is throwing all it can at it, and while it might "suffer" for a time, potentially loose a "weak branch" or two, the tree prevails and is the stronger for it.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.

All I really know is my brother told me that in the end times when the rapture happens that
What is good will be considered bad and what is bad will be called good.

These men are talking about salvation of the world EXACTLY HOW WE AS HUMANS WOULD HAVE IT.

They quote that Jesus didnt come to condemn the world......but fail to mention He was speaking of His first coming!
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 13:38-42 KJV
The victory is ALREADY won at the cross!!! But we have to recieve His free gift of salvation by Faith. Most people wont do that. Scripture says "But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
John 1:12 KJV

You forgot to ask, the last days of WHAT?
The last days of the Old Covenant, that's what!
The scriptures we read are written at a certain point in history,
to take them out of that history and bring them into our present
time is to take them out of context.
They, the apostles were waiting for the Last Days of the old covenant. The destruction of
the Temple and the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy in His Olivet Discourse that not one stone
would be left upon another. That happened in 70 A.D.
Here is the fruit of end times teaching. Which was NOT a part of the early church fathers teaching
it was invented by Darby and Schofield in the 1830's. Your belief has a history and it's not very old.
Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version (KJV)
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.
So I ask you, "What is the fruit of the end times teaching?"
Lazy deceived Christians who don't get involved with spreading the message of Christ redeeming the world.
That would be because there are better and more accurate translations.
I've really changed my eschatology because of many of the points here. I'm by nature an optimist and this is the only option if you believe that Christ wins and is working even now.
Of course the biblical support for dispensationalism and rapture etc is vacant
“Narrow is the road... and few there are who find it” destroys all of Dougs unbiblical theological view concerning the end times.
Agreed Also .... Matthew 24:37-39 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

@@johnbreitmeier3268 you don't know how bad ad70 was.

@@johnbreitmeier3268 Thanks for your opinion.
@@kylec8950 you are welcome, but as Joe Friday would have said it's just the facts. History in this case.
And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Matthew 24:3-31 ESV
Further, he then sits down on the throne of his glory, and is then referred to as the King. Not from heaven, on earth.
Finally two men who understand context and the historical grammatical interpretation of scripture
Don't know if I believe we have a long way to go, but no one know's we only guess at this.
This was an amazing discussion.
“God did not send his son to condemns the world” ... was this not referring to Jesus’ coming to earth as a man? In which He didn’t come to condemns but to offer himself as a sacrifice? That’s how I understand this. Is this not different than His second coming?
This was great! Where can I see more of these clear, informative discussions on this topic?
God create atmospheres so when they sin the atmosphere changed as well
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword."
Matthew:10:34
J Hankins Yes of course. With respect and loving kindness, what is your point?
Question: what are some other Faith based thinkers is apologia in touch with other than Doug Wilson?
I still don't understand the complexity of eschatology. It's so confusing to the point where you just give up studying it and let God reveal it in the end because there's no clearifying facts in the bible about what comes first and last.
This is surprising they believe that the whole world would be converted? That does not fit with anything the bible shows. People always fall away from God. That's why He always needs to step in and show that we need Him and we are hopeless without Gods intervention. And theres so many prophecies happening today with the middle east and Israel. This is weird.
I'm buying post trib except for that part
It seems he defeats all of his enemies while seated at the Father's side, but the last one, death, he defeats when he comes. So not all are defeated while at the Father's side.
That's powerful.
Lol

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."
Matthew 13:38-43 KJV
john doe I'd have to read up more fully on Pre/A/Post mil proof systems than to rely on one passage and take all of scripture into account.
This is the first resurrection."
Revelation 20:4-5 KJV
Christ returns before the millennium based on scripture. Pre-mill. I hope i dont sound antagonist, i really just want to shine some light if i can. We are called to help each other when we can. Even if you dont accept it, just remember men create systems all the time to try to figure God out, but God can NOT be put into a "box/system". HES GOD!!!!
God Bless you brother
john doe said "Jesus returns pre-mill." Then, "God can NOT be put into a "box/system"." So it's only a box system when it disagrees with you?
No.
@ Ken 10001000
Hebrews 9:28 tells us exactly when and what the second coming is as I stated above
replying to John Doe. 70 A.D. was the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy in His Olivet Discourse.
The "second coming" is something else entirely.
End of what age? the age THEY, Jesus and the Apostles were living in when this was written,
the Old Covenant age. When this was written the world was pregnant with the New Covenant,
experiencing its birth pangs. The Old Covenant sacrifice system was destroyed in 70 A.D. in a
Jewish civil war started when the abomination that causes desolation was placed upon the
altar in the temple. That was the bust of Caesar who demanded that Caesar be worshiped in the
temple and the temple Jews agreed and the zealot Jews revolted and then came Titus who destroyed
Jerusalem.
In any event Hebrews 9:28 tells us that Jesus came the first
time to deal with sin (on the cross) and comes the SECOND (coming) time to bring salvation to those who are
seeking Him. I've had people argue that this couldn't be true because the Bible only says it once.
I don't even have words to respond to that statement, it's so lacking.
The entire 9th chapter is so chock full of the subject and culminating in the last sentence, what more
proof does one need?
THE "second coming" is defined in Hebrews 9:28 and it is the TIMELESS event of salvation that will
continue until the end of the earth as described in the "Gloria Patri" Ephesians 3:21.
World without end.

Also, it isn’t blasphemy to say that God has chosen ‘some vessels for wrath and others not’
Even if you disagree with Jeff it’s certainly NOT BLASPHEMY.
Good grief.
Why are people so quick to call other Christians ‘false teachers’ or ‘blasphemers’ or ‘heretics’
We should reserve that kind of talk for only the most obvious and extreme examples.
