I'm reffing with a fake hip and I'm trying to convince my wife to let me start piecing my goalie stuff back together. Boy if looks could kill.... she wasn't on board with my idea at the time, but I'll keep chippin away at it :) I wonder if this will void the warranty on my fake hip....

I just got my first ice hockey pads yesterday. I’ve had two different pairs of street hockey goalie gear and found a great deal for Reebok premier 4 14k pads for $50. I’m so happy
Growing up I used a glove and blocker set of "Vaughn Legacy" pro returns custom built for Rick Dipietro. You might have assumed I was an Islanders fan because of the unmistakable white, blue, and orange stars and stripes pattern. But I actually chose them because they resembled my beloved Denver Broncos and because they were worn by an American NHLer who was also a number one overall pick.
At 3:38, you comment on the sweet gear/ jersey but don’t mention doll head on the top of his stick. Good guy, good keeper, plays in my league in Chandler, Arizona.

Hey Wayne I was just curious, how did you get use to the new pads with only a couple of velcro straps? I still cant seem to get away from using my pads with all the leather straps. Bauer RX10. It seems like most goalie pads are slowly going to the new way with just a couple velcro straps. Do you like the way the new pads are going, or do you miss the older style? Thanks
Oh man, I think my Equipment just says its cheap as possible xD just startet for Hobby and the Goalie gear is sooo expensive in Germany... I got very old Pads, catchingglove, blocker and Woodstick from a Former Player from AEV but in the moment i play with normal skates and search for cheap goalieskates ^^
Hah I still have a set of the Koho pads that followed those with the "K" pattern. They are going on 20 years old now. I actually just ordered some G4s because the straps are bound to go any day now and they soak up water like nobody's business with all the covering worn off in so many places.

My gear says "Been playing for 25 years and can only afford to replace one item every five years." I'm still wearing the Bauer 3000 skates I bought in 1997. My grey & black Itech pads I picked up for half price in 2009, and clash with my custom CCM white, red & black gloves I ordered in 2014. A brand new CCM 1.9 mask was just delivered to my doorstep an hour ago, replacing my Koho I've been wearing since 2004. You love dragons and old goalie gear? I should send you a pic of my old mask with a red dragon painted on it and my 1998 Heaton Brodeur pads & gloves that I still have in the garage.
What my pads say about me is that I'm broke and got them at either thrift stores or play it again😂😅. I don't even have the gloves yet. But thats all I need to get back into it so its gonna happen.
Keep at it! Haters gonna hate. Just remember, we can't stop every shot and goals are going to happen. Strive to be a little better today than you were yesterday!
