Why doesn't my test kit include a test for cya? Is it something i should be checking? I've always struggled with a cloudy pool. I've learned a lot so far. Just found out my pool was extremely high on phosphates so i added a phosphate remover and keeping chlorine high. Hope this finally clears it up.
You need to test your CYA at least when you open the pool for the season. CYA will let your pool water hold the chlorine longer making sure your water is always sanitized properly.
For smaller or above ground pool if CYA is too high you can partially drain and refill your pool. There are CYA reducer like the link below but I think it's cheaper to do a partial drain and refill. amzn.to/3QYBdwC
Either your CYA is too low or you have not added CYA yet? If it is a freshly filled pool you will need to add the proper amount of CYA. You will need 1lb of this for every 4000 gallon of water. amzn.to/4cg5gIn Let me know if you have any other question.
