Does Winter Pill Really Work? See the 6 Months Result
This is a follow-up video on the Winter Pill that I placed in my above ground swimming pool prior to closing the pool and removing the pool pump and filter. Will the pool be nasty with algae or was the water properly maintained by the small pill that we added 6 months ago.
The winter pill is supposed to last up to 4 months so, on the 5th month. I started adding a cup of chlorine every 2 weeks. I added a total of 2 cups before this video is taken. I chose to simply add chlorine because a new pill cost around $25 while the gallon of chlorine only cost $5.
If you are interested in using the winter pill. Below is my amazon affiliate link. Amazon gives small creators like myself a small commission when someone purchase using our link at no cost to you.

      @@Overly_nourished_entity The weight of the pool will probably hold the pole in its place but don't quote me on it. Regarding the slab, what's more important is the material of the base and how compacted the base is. The slab can crack if the base gives in. Hope this helps.

    It is all about the vents, they point towards the back at the top. They expel hot air and gasses, not scoop it. This is the most important feature of directional rotors. If they are radial (straight out), it is irrelevant how you want them to face.

      After you add the drops to your pool water, that whole chamber from top to bottom will be the same color. Then you compare your pool water color to the five other colors next to it and see which one is closest. It won’t be an exact reading like you get at the pool store, but it will get you close enough. Hope this helps.

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual 12 годин тому

      If you can see it at full the CYA is still low, you can add a little more. The camera lens can actually see better than the naked eye. If you can faintly see the dot then your CYA is right about at 30ppm or a little lower. Ideal is between 30 and 50 but if you are using chlorine tablet, it will raise your CYA overtime so if you are not losing chlorine quickly you should be good.

    Hi again!! The parts that go in holes B & C when the pump goes on are you supposed to feel suction?!? I can’t tell if my pump is broken 😞

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual 7 днів тому

      No. You won't feel any on the suction side. You can feel the water going out on the outlet (A side) back to the pool. If you are using the same pump, you should feel the water up to a foot on the A sde. If you can feel it drop down to around 6 inches then you want to clean or replace the filter.

    Do I need a bike chain?

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual 7 днів тому

      Look at this as hybrid bike. It does have all the component of a regular bike plus a motor and battery built in. You can choose to pedal manually, with help from motor or full motor. So, yes it does have a chain. Now if you are looking for a chain to lock it, then that will depend on where you use and park your bike. If you are concern about the battery getting stolen, it does come with a key to lock it in place. Hope this helps.

    It’s usually advisable to NEVER spend anything not even a penny under $1,000 to purchase a cheap electric bike and yes $1k for a electric bike is already dirt cheap. If you’re going anywhere less than one grand then you’re taking tons of compromises and drawbacks, literally no way around that. Why would you drill holes to find the studs… just knock on the sealing😭

      You are correct. I know the exact location where I want to place the hook that is why I just drilled a hole to see if there is a stud available in that location, I'm not moving my install to where the stud is so I am not really searching for a stud.

    OMG! This really works. My husband is about to bulldoze the sucker down and get rid of the pool after thousands of dollars on chemicals and vacuums, new pumps and filters. Nothing seemed to work. I gave this a try and I'll be damned. Yeah! I can keep my pool now! Thank you!

    I heard about sock idea but 1st time I'm seeing it so thank you. There are pool filter socks you can buy on amazon, but they go in your filter, which would not work for me as water would flow right out.

      Hey, thanks for checking out the video! Socks really do have more uses than we think, right?

    Mine didn't turn red. It looked like more of a light purple color. Is this normal?

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual 11 днів тому

      It's not. It could be a expired or been exposed in the sun reagent? Also, some indicates that chlorine that is too high can sometimes give weird results. How's your chlorine and PH level?
