How did you mod the antenna, can you post a video?
A simple way to improve range is to find the antenna in the body of the quad and place to the outside. You obviously have modded the hell out of this bird. I probably would do the same, but after having two dozen quads, I just bit the bullet and purchased a DJI Mavic Pro and just recently a Spark.
I just ordered this drone, my question is how do you install the transmitter booster?? Is it difficult to install?
Just got this drone to video for our gold prospecting channel and the camera will not record.I am hoping it was the $10 micro SD card not working..ordered a different card hopefully that fixes it,but really enjoy flying this drone

This new JJRC really went the distance, especially with your modded TX. That second flight was a little to exciting for me. You have discovered a very import bug in these quads, they land to fast and hard on LVC. I hope MJX and JJRC are watching and planning future updates. Nice range testing Pete, well done as always.

Not enough power to get out of the downfall initially and then the draft just takes it downhill after that but it goes the distance and then some!!! :)
If only they made a 'Pro' version of this with a decent camera. You did a nice action mod to it, but I want a decent camera that I can control with the TX.

Not bad for the price for sure Dave. I wasn't expecting to get a view of the neighborhood beyond that one house and I think those houses weren't there before with them big dirt lots so you can use this one for scoping out the neighbors and beyond!!!! lol
@@RCEscape yeah you flew that bad boy a mile out man, I was amazed, this JJRC Epik is cheaper than the b5w ain't it? Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought I've seen it a little cheaper. Great flyer very smooth.. :) Glad it didn't break legs on that hard rth descent, that was a hard hit man. When there's a flash or promo sale later on I may look into one of these for my collection. Gotta fly what I got for the moment once Spring season arrives :) not long now

You're my favorite drone channel, but I wish you would gain proper high altitude when you first take off so the drone can get a decent signal as you push it out.

Please review and max control distance test of the 4DRC Mark 300 sometimes called the M1. You do the best range tests and reviews. They are more in depth than anyone else.

They are the same drone, same factory. Just different brand and slightly different appearance.
Personaly I like the jjpro because its slightly cheaper and looks way better in my opinion.
On your past review on this video,,how much 1s battery did you used on the akk vtx camera ? Does It hold large amperes? Thanks..

Well, after modifications and stuffs added to the drone, the maximum distance on your drone is not the maximum distance of a stock version. Have you tested the stock version? I have the X5 EPIK for several months it never reached 1 km.
Actually, the first flight is with the stock tx.
Hello Pete! Best regards from Mexico City. I wonder if you have solved the issue with the drone falling as a rock. The exact same issue is happening to me and I'm not quite sure if the batteries are the problem, given that it starts doing that before the low batt warning. Also, it does the same using any of my two batteries. I've been searching and I don't find anything on the Internet about firmware updates and JJRC is not responding any communications. Thanks!

I think it is the battery. It also happened to me with the bugs3pro and bugs 5w also.

I want it with a 2 axis gimbal. Is it possible to mount a such very light gimbal? I could see such gimbal on an other drone you showed I think. WLtoys Q696 - A?

I don't have it anymore but it should go 100 meters. See if the app has a beginner mode and turn it off.

No... At best a Mobius or run cam. Ive owned and built many quads. Rule of thumb, need 3s battery minimum when trying to carry any weight. These birds on 2s batteries are pushing it with performance. Even the DJI Spark runs a 11.4v battery.

Unfortunately, the camera is what allows you to use the phone app so once removed, you will also loose the phone app functions.

I know you were testing to see how far you could get the drone to go, but most drone pilots aren't going to push the battery that far, you could have broken the drone, have you ever thought of putting Velcro on phone holders that are not very good.

True. The Wi-fi garbles if there's just one tree in the way. Going to 5.8 Ghz is the way to fly if you're going to do FPV.
