- One of my all time favorite demos as a kid was "The Forgotten Realm" from Oblivion Knight. The demo was recorded in 1989, and I got my copy directly from Chris Camp in '90 when I was 14 years old. I always thought it deserved way more attention. By the way it is now available on CD, go buy one.
Think WATCHTOWER ! #watchtower #oblivionknight #robjarzombek #solarguitars #solarpyro
I am playing my new Solar 1.6 AB Pyro #6 ( This guitar is pure fire !)
@solar-guitars
I’m actually the drummer on that track. This brought back fond memories. Thanks!
You are very welcome! And -Thank you for your kind words. The Forgotten Realm demo brought me a lot of joy when I was a teenager and I still cherish it. It is a very special recording, and I hope more people get an opportunity to hear it. Thank you! 🤘🤘🤘

Awesome man ! 🤘
Thanks for watching Oblivion Knight Rules. 🤘
This music reminds of expressionism in music. So damn hard to play and sounds amazing ❤
It took me a few weeks to learn it and I did find it to be very challenging. As for the style, it was definitely different. I especially love the high pitched power metal vocal towards the end after he says,”King.”
@@Yourguitarchannelsucks yeah but i think there's some influence of expressionism cause the vocal and instrumental parts are quite similar harmonically, i mean lot of dissonances and very difficult rhythm.
Super skills man, and that guitar should be your end all be all. It's truly the top of the metal food chain. Great choice of song to demo too. I've never heard it before and once the vocals kicked in I was thrilled. Im a big fan of that style too.
That song is from a demo that came out in 1990 from a band that was actually from Dothan, Alabama. I meet their guitarist when I was 14 and he was really nice to me. I got that demo from him and became a really big fan. I use to listen to that tape all the time. When I was learning the song for this video it took me about 4 weeks to learn it. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be and I had to do some mental gymnastics while playing it called “counting.”7/4 section had me stumped for a good minute. As for vocals, that dude is amazing! One of my all time favorite power metal recordings. He was actually the original vocalist for dream theater. Anyway, thanks for your awesome support man.
@@Yourguitarchannelsucks really great playing, your timing is super precise. That's wild they were from Dothan. That's like a radiant beam of light shooting out of a black hole - like a quasar. Anyway, great playing always inspiring!
@ObscureMachines Thank you for your kind words. It took me several weeks to learn that song. It has some tricky sections here and there. They were a great band. I use to listen to that demo all the time when I was growing up. They are also really nice guys. Thanks for watching.
Jeff, never expected to see this. Your channel is awesome! This is Paul in Dothan.
Hailz Paul, how is it going? Are you still playing when you have time? It’s nice to hear from you. Anyway, thanks for checking out the channel. I have not been able to play over the last 2 months but hopefully I can make some new videos soon. And thanks for your positive words, I appreciate it. 🤘
@@Yourguitarchannelsucks I have been playing lately because work has slowed down as it does from time to time. I actually just put an album out. Hoping to keep the ball rolling over the next few months. Are you still in E'prise?

That’s awesome, where can I check it out? Do you have any social media accounts? I think I might still have your email. And yes, I’m still in enterprise, possibly at the same house you last saw me at. I look forward to checking out your new stuff.🤘🤘🤘
How about a blast from the past? ua-cam.com/users/AdinaShreds666videos
