I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
I’ve been playing since 2008. I have see countless videos since then on form and technique. This video helped me more than any other. Thank you Will for putting the time and effort to make a fantastic video with awesome descriptions. Still extremely relevant to the new generation of disc golfers that crave these videos so much.
this is the video that started it all for me, so excited to see Will on Jomez practice round this week I still share this video on discord whenever I'm teaching form this is short and concise with all the dos-and-donts, its amazing how much of this video still exists in my form right now 8 years later
10 years later I find this video and it's easily one of, if not the, best backhand instruction video I've seen. Especially that follow thru section. Incredible stuff.
Dude a second grader can throw just like that!! I mean it's so easy a caveman can do it! All you have to do is get the aerodynamic lift or your Bernoulli principle whichever one you want to call it and your gyroscopic inertia from your wrist into the disc, & bam you've got basically a free flying wing that uses the Bernoulli principle causing it to lift and the angular momentum of the disc giving it stability to maintain flight!! I'd hate to see how you folks do if you ever saw a boomerang!! That is so basic frisbee golf a caveman can do it and it's actually really pathetic that a man could show his face playing such a pansy ass woman game!! Real men can lift more than a plastic frisbee!! I bet you men throwing those frisbees on that course wear panties too don't you listen!! And you probably all drink your mother and father's used enema water😂😂
I've been playing for about 3 years, I've watched a ton of videos. I just came across this one. For some reason this made more sense to me then every other video. I'm going to go put it into practice first thing in the morning!
Thanks for the lesson Mr.Schusterick, I practiced this for two weeks or so and ACED 2 TIMES in one round @ our local disc park using this technique BAM!...Been playing for 2 1/2 years now.
so after having a ton of backhand issues after taking a year off for injury, i checked this video out and took all the tips, but none of it really helped, until i watched his feet. Once I took a much larger cross step it was like the rest of the throw was automatic. Back up to my 400+ ft drives with barely any effort. love watching pros throw, can learn SO much! Thanks Schusterick!
I've only been playing for a year but built my form from watching youtube videos. I know my reach back is passable and my footwork is decent too, but still wasn't getting the power I thought I could. The weight shift part at 3:35 is exactly what I've been been doing wrong - can't wait to go practice this, thanks Will!
I've been playing 22 years and I'm still looking to improve my game. This is a very excellent video. I like how you presented everything. Shout out from Minnesota!
This video is really helping me Will. I normally flick everything ( ex baseball player) but I'm trying to learn the backhand to take some of the pressure off throwing difficult flick holes. Thanks man.
This video is exactly what I've been looking for. It's perfect for ppl switching from ultimate to disc golf. He covered everything I was doing wrong. Great video
Just the way instructional videos should be! Short, broken down into sections and TO THE POINT! Excellent job, Will! As a 59 year-old noob I am struggling with distance (250' drive too high in the air, so huge arcs (RHBH)) and consistency. Now I know my grip is all wrong, as is my throwing style. Time to practice your techniques! Thanks!!!
This video was so helpful. Thanks Will for engineering the concept of how to use "weight shift" and how to grip, follow through, and keeping your arm level to the shoulder!
I was confused when I was thinking that you do your full reach back before the weight shift... after watching this video, I see that you actually start the weight shift first and then complete the reach back. Also, what really helped me was the part about using the back part of the arm and grabbing onto something to feel which muscles are being used... I actually almost tagged a car in the parking lot cuz I threw the disc about 50 feet further than my previous longest drive when I finally connected good. (Thank you fence post!)
I've struggled for 15 years to pivot on my right heal when throwing instead of my toe. I'm re-learning everything this winter and gunna be throwin' 600 like Willy Schu by spring.
Thank you for this video! I was maxing out at 250-300ft and throwing inefficiently. These tips corrected my mechanics completely. I can finally hear the snap on my throws. I am now throwing with less effort and have gained a TON of distance. I have been trying to figure out for years what I've been doing wrong.
Holy Snap Batman! Clearly I'm doing it wrong and now I "see" it. Thanks Will, you nailed the wrong for me. This video is well produced and clear enough I want to use the word science when describing it. Cheers!
Hey thanks man. I've been completely off my game since the new season started. Your tips really helped me last season and I'm glad your video was still around so I could refresh. Thanks a lot.
Thanks so much bro, that was the most informative video I've seen (and im a UA-cam disc video junkie) yet!! Extremely helpful I was definitely not rotating my left shoulder all the way back!!
Yes it does. Feldberg talks about it a lot in his clinics. The Heel spin keeps your arm on the line because it's a pivot instead of a spin. The hip transfer that he talks about in the standstill part will cause you to pivot on the heel if done right. It's a release of energy from back to front. Also it takes stress off your knee greatly.
I think I increased my distance by at least 25 feet. I am an intermediate thrower. But my beginner friend improved his distance at least 70 feet by simply watching this video. Thanks Will. Please keep 'em posting.
Great advise, you the man Will!!! I've always heard to pull through at your chest and it never really felt right, I will definitely try to pull through at my abs.
Finally dude finally I can feel the weight shift. I noticed you actually start the shift before you are in a full reach back. I tried it and it was so easy lol. My arm snaps back just like a rubber band and feels so loose. Love it dude thanks so much Will
Just noticed he’s wearing memory foam Merrell’s. Those shoes are the bomb. Walked the Great Wall with them. Great technical breakdown as well. Practicing like the pros doesn’t even require a course!
Thanks Will for making these videos! :) Watched your videos nearly whole weekend, and today when i was at Disc golf park, noticed after 3 runs that my driving was more accurate and it had nearly 70-100 feet more lenght. Thanks m8! Subbed ;)
I like the way he describes how to throw, I'm defiantly going to try this tips out today, I've been trying to get more distance and I think if I can follow these steps I'll be able to.
I love Crockett Park! It was actually the first place I ever played, I was visiting a friend of mine and he introduced me. I think I shot a +20 or so my first game, but quickly brought it down. Really nice course Great tutorial by the way
Thanks for the video/tips! I just added 50-60ft to my drive using the "pull through, close to your body" tip. Still need to work on the full reach and weight transfer part, but I can make do with a 250ft drive.
I've never bothered to comment on a UA-cam video before, but this is a fantastic instructional that's highlighted a serious problem in my reachback that I knew was there but couldn't pinpoint. Thanks a lot for the tutorial!
The heel pivot is the way to go. It allows you to open your hips more giving you a lot more power. And like wildcat said, "Also it takes stress off your knee greatly."
Will, I spoke to you today in Rock Hill, SC on #5.....after an amazing Tee shot... what I said was sad... but when I walked away.... I thought of what I should have said to you... "NO, thank you ... Will, You taught me how to throw a disc!"
My wife and I have recently started playing. The first time out after watching this video once was a huge improvement for both of us. The discs went really straight and flew so far into the trees. :-) Now we need to work on releasing in the right direction!! Joking aside, this single video was a great help to both of us. Thanks Will
This took me and my brother from hucking shit into the trees to hucking it in a semi-consistent varied height straightish line in a day.. THANK YOU. Things were feeling pretty hopeless before. haha
9 years later I think this is still the most concise and helpful video on backhand throws there is. Thank you for making it Will.
And 10 years on 😊
This is 10 years old, why did i find this just now? One of the best videos of backhand tips i've seen.
It's still my go-to for showing beginners. Since 2018
This is the most helpful short technique video I've ever seen. I end up going back to this once a month or so because it's so good and concise.
I think this might be the best teaching video ever.
100% agree. This helped me get from 380' to 480'. I was stuck in that range for years.
@@kylephillips2764 what in particular did you take away from this?
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Archie Brock Instablaster =)
Agreed. I was "trying" to keep my eyes on the target while reaching back, which cost me much distance.
I’ve been playing since 2008. I have see countless videos since then on form and technique. This video helped me more than any other. This is pure gold! Thanks Will Schusterick

Prodigy's New CEO. I foresee an amazing comeback story for them!

10 years later and still the best video I found. Immediately fixed my backhand
This video is really helping me Will. I normally flick everything ( ex baseball player) but I'm trying to learn the backhand to take some of the pressure off throwing difficult flick holes. Thanks man.
This helped me a great deal with my power drive... Thank you Will!!!
That is one detailed clinic video for 5:30 minute long
Awesome work !!!!!
This video is exactly what I've been looking for. It's perfect for ppl switching from ultimate to disc golf. He covered everything I was doing wrong. Great video

Still rec this vid for newbies. Thank you Will, and please come back on tour. Georgia, needs you!
Out of all the disc golf vids I've watched so far, this one's been the most helpful and informative, great job!
This video was so helpful. Thanks Will for engineering the concept of how to use "weight shift" and how to grip, follow through, and keeping your arm level to the shoulder!
Nicely done. Clear, concise, and spot on. Added to my saved dg vids!
Just got recommended this now- this dude is a beast

Excellent video. Thanks for showing incorrect form as well. Immensely helpful to newbies like myself.
The advice in this video has improved my game significantly in terms of my driving distance and my consistency. Thanks, Will!

One of the best DG driving technique videos in disc golf. Thanks Will!

This helped alot! Can’t wait to try it . Love the comparisons too
Thank you will I started a month ago and this is the video that has helped me out the most so far. Very beginner friendly
This video really is what made a “click” in my head when I was learning to get power from the ground up and getting my hips involved!
Great video, very helpful. Great job Will. 5 Stars
Very awesome compilation. I especially dug some of the wall shots.
I think I increased my distance by at least 25 feet. I am an intermediate thrower. But my beginner friend improved his distance at least 70 feet by simply watching this video. Thanks Will. Please keep 'em posting.
thanks for the advice...it has improved my consistency and has given me something to refer to.
Great advise, you the man Will!!! I've always heard to pull through at your chest and it never really felt right, I will definitely try to pull through at my abs.
Awesome video. Thank you! I like the "No" and yes shots.
One of the best videos I've seen! Good job !
Very useful information here Mr. Schusterick Thanks!!
Looks like I have a video to watch every time I'm out in the field. Thanks for the video Will.
Bravo!! Fine video. Your form is a thing of beauty!!
Finally dude finally I can feel the weight shift. I noticed you actually start the shift before you are in a full reach back. I tried it and it was so easy lol. My arm snaps back just like a rubber band and feels so loose. Love it dude thanks so much Will
Also I know your probably not going for distance in the stand still, but how far can you throw in that stance?
usually 20% less than a run up.
Just noticed he’s wearing memory foam Merrell’s. Those shoes are the bomb. Walked the Great Wall with them.
Great technical breakdown as well. Practicing like the pros doesn’t even require a course!
Thanks for making this, your video really answered some of the questions i had about form and what i need to work on
Very, very helpful video. Thanks!
Thanks Will for making these videos! :) Watched your videos nearly whole weekend, and today when i was at Disc golf park, noticed after 3 runs that my driving was more accurate and it had nearly 70-100 feet more lenght. Thanks m8! Subbed ;)
Awesome video Will, can't wait to take this out there Tomorrow.
I like the way he describes how to throw, I'm defiantly going to try this tips out today, I've been trying to get more distance and I think if I can follow these steps I'll be able to.
This video showed me a lot of things I've been doing wrong. Awesome breakdown of the entire shot!
You're the man will
Nice tips and demonstration. Just subscribed
This has been very helpful to me. Thanks for sharing!
Very amazing video. I learn alot of techniques from this video. Thanks
You have amazing form! Wish I had a hint of your talent...lol
I love Crockett Park! It was actually the first place I ever played, I was visiting a friend of mine and he introduced me. I think I shot a +20 or so my first game, but quickly brought it down. Really nice course
Great tutorial by the way
Best driver tutorial on youtube.
Thanks for the video/tips! I just added 50-60ft to my drive using the "pull through, close to your body" tip. Still need to work on the full reach and weight transfer part, but I can make do with a 250ft drive.
Great form and great advice, tyty
I've never bothered to comment on a UA-cam video before, but this is a fantastic instructional that's highlighted a serious problem in my reachback that I knew was there but couldn't pinpoint. Thanks a lot for the tutorial!
Happy Birthday Will.
Great explanation for a newb disc golfer. Thanks man!
Best pure form I think I've ever seen
Great video! Also I play disc golf at that course every week!
The heel pivot is the way to go. It allows you to open your hips more giving you a lot more power. And like wildcat said, "Also it takes stress off your knee greatly."
One of the best videos ever thank sman
i think this will help me a lot. now I cant wait to go play!
Cool. Good to know, I have been wondering where to look when I drive and I'm practicing the Shusterick technique :)
Great instructions!
Beautiful video! Thanks, bro.
Great video thanks Will.
great stuff, Will!
Great video, helping me a lot.
Thank you Will.
Will, could you do a video on release points, please?
Great video!! I need to work on the reach back.

Great Video.
The past couple of weeks I have been practicing this form and I think it's starting to look pretty similar
Same here! Thats my home course!
Will, I spoke to you today in Rock Hill, SC on #5.....after an amazing Tee shot... what I said was sad... but when I walked away....
