What's the durability of a bonded driveway like this? Is it the same of concrete or would you have to redo this after a heavy rain? and what's the cost?
I know im randomly asking but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Ryder Kairo i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi, I'm a DIYer. I have spoken to a supplier of this product recently, for garden paths. You seem to have laid it according to their data sheet, with the exception of the concrete primer. I'm really seeking your advice for whether or not the primer is necessary....? I live in France and would like to try this on a small area first, to see if I can do it. Also, I have a small area outside of my garage (20m2), will this application be ok for that too? Many thanks in advance, and I read the review from 1988! Brilliant!
You should mix it it would have been better underneath the pebbles will stay but you would have loose pebbles on the top the best way to do it is mix it all in then you will finish the job and it would look better because it would stay there for longer than when you spread it underneath
And you really thought that was good enough to advertise. I loved the last bit where they where struggling to sweep enough loose chippings onto the last patch just to save another bag of gravel. This is NOT what you want to do if you want a lasting finish. In our area the local council use this on the approach to major roundabouts to improve wet weather grip and they have had to have a rethink as it rubs off too quick. Don't do this if you want a lasting surface. Bounded surfaces are thicker for a reason. The only people supporting this video will be fellow cowboys. Did these guys live in a caravan
Jason your correct i use antiskid at work this in the video is cold applied more decoration then anythin looks good an they did do it correctly apart from coverin the manhole
Bonding where you apply resin to the ground and then you apply the aggregate in a thin layer to it. This is the correct way. A bound driveway is different. You mix the aggregate to the reason and then apply 15mm layer all over the drive way and trowel it level and flat. I’m no cowboy but I know the difference. It gives me business ideas :) I will start my own little business doing this and learn it from scratch.
In China , most Customer prefer color ceramic aggregates , not natural gravels . People here like red , blue , yellow , white and greeen color aggregates . Also with colorful resin binder on bonding the color ggregates .
In response to 90% of the comments, this is RESIN BONDED, not RESIN BOUND. Resin BONDED is exactly this, resin is spread with aggregate raked ontop. Resin BOUND is when the two are mixed and spread.
Hey Gary, glad you're still doing an awesome job! My foundation you did for me 28 years ago looks like you did it yesterday still,Pebble Beach neighbors are amazed. Its funny, all the non-union rats who came to UA-cam for driveway instructions commenting how you pro's did it wrong. You did my complete driveway 10'x80' and my back yard in 1988,it still looks new..I jack cars up on it,throw neighborhood parties in the backyard.. Not a weed,or blade of grass grows through your work. You are better than Granite Rock.
Resin Bond is a trade marked product name for a resin that melts plexiglass together to form boxes and other shapes into solid plexi for aquariums etc.
Wow, all these 'cowboy' comments when clearly these commenters who i can only assume call themselves 'professionals' do not know what they are talking about, this is a resin BONDED system whereas the resin BOUNDED system is the system where the stone and resin are mixed together then applied by trowel and wtf was that comment about applying it 3inches thick lmao. Last thing someone stated that they should have applied resin OVER the stones, really? So have do you propose spreading resin over a rough stone surface with a spreader. People really shouldn't criticise others when they themselves do not know what they are talking about
Timing is crucial therefore I wouldn't advise as you may have failed areas. If it were necessary then perhaps let the first layer dry and cure and then prime the entire surface generously and for extra insurance throw fine sand into the prime making it gritty before applying. This will allow the sand to penetrate tiny gaps between the first layer of stones and ensure as much binding as possible.
@rats arsed hardly your sticking it to the surface so putting resin ontop wount do a thing apart from make it slippy ive used these products plenty of times
A light dusting of gravel onto a thin layer of resin??? No mixer and 30mm depth? That'll last a month at least. The first time the car's steering is turned, it'll start to rip bits up.
Did these guys come via the caravans parked on the common for a few weeks, a different pair will turn up knocking the door next year asking if you want it done properly 🤦🏾♂️
ok so installing this over cracked concrete, I am 100% that the cracks (due to movement) will come through your nice new resin that is stuck to the concrete.
Just had a price for my drive to be finished in resin 120 sq meters £30.000 pounds are all these people fools ???? I think i will just have tarmac 👍👍👍👍
It's pretty now, but time will destroy that concrete. It's going to crumble and need replacing. The elements and the sun are just too much .My old house had that stuff on the driveway. It needed a total replacement 😒
This is as wrong as it can be. Pushing stone around in the resin like that will wreck it. When they sweep off the excess stone that will be a disaster of resin coated stones and sockets where there is not enough resin to hold the stone. Cowboys of the worst sort.
Loved the EXTREME CLOSEUP!!!! @ 2:28 - LOL
Looks good!
Cowboys of the highest caliber!
a lesson for us all, saves money, thanks guys

Existing Cracked slab lads will show through fairly shortly doe to movement and subsidence ,and cars parked on it. Good luck.
so cool! thank u for making this!
soluciones practicas! muy bueno
They were sniffing the resin fumes before they started!

Right you now need to go back nd see how these driveways look today!
Pleased to hear these guys went into liquidation in 2013....A year after posting this video! Cowboys!
?
I don’t think this is the correct way to install a bonded resin drive. It should be compacted and troweled off.
@@mikecripps1629 That's the difference between resin bonded (like this) and resin bound (the mixed and troweled system). www.pavingexpert.com/resin
I dont think they filmed the 2nd half
If you use this method you still have to go over the top with a few more layers of epoxy
Yup, cowboys to the max!! F***k of and don’t ever come back.
So you just put resin down and stone over it ?
Beautiful. For southern climes correct? Issues with snow removal?
I've never seen anything like it! It looks 😎.

@Ryder Kairo it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out !
@Harley Jesiah You are welcome xD
I've never seen anything like this, and I kind of like it.
Just like pebble dashing. This is good and an affordable diy. So what if you have to do touch ups every now and then...do it.
I can already see the powersteering marks :)
would this work on top of blacktop
Does an untied shoe lace help with a more even distribution?

Will this work on a old beat up asphalt drive?
is it uv resistance and will not yellowing

pretty sure u have to do both
wonder how much they charged,
Would this work over packed road pack rock?
And you really thought that was good enough to advertise.

How long is the guarantee 3........or 4 days or is that hours. Filmed by John Wayne and Clint Eastwood............

Did anyone else notice the high spot at the bottom of the garage door?
I know this is not perfect but some of the people commenting need to know the difference between bonded and bound
Do u put a coat on top
That’s ruled out a resin driveway for me then
How long is this going to last not long soon as a car goes over it it will tear up
Wait a Minute That’s Not The Resin I Was Thinking About....🤠

yes and a resin bonded is not much use on a car traffic drive
What system is this please
Why am I watching this ? I want ice cream ! 😃
Hope they don’t need the drains unblocked 🙁
Didn't use enough bags of stone, I would say at less five bags short. Looks bad
Is there any reason you couldn't put another layer of the resin on top of that so that it would hold up even better?
Timing is crucial therefore I wouldn't advise as you may have failed areas. Where can i get that Kind of sand and the epoxy please let me know
To do a Mickey Mouse job like this you'd get your supplies from the Disney shop. EVERYTHING about this demo is wrong.
Personally and I’m not knocking your job but I would put more resin over the finished job wit a roller
Then it would be slippy
@rats arsed hardly your sticking it to the surface so putting resin ontop wount do a thing apart from make it slippy ive used these products plenty of times
Where can I purchase Resin for big jobs like driveway and/or patio ??
Jocelyn Williams Not like this, but you can get resin from Vuba - 01482 778897 😁
Fuckin hell lmao. I see the stones were not mixed with resin either!
Should the concrete not have been cleaned and primed. The stone mixed with the reserve and trowelled on?
NO DIG NEW DRIVEWAY come do mine boys 👍
This is not how I’ve seen resin bond driveways done sorry, I thought I was watching cowboy builders.
Imagine trying to wash your car tires and lower part of your car on your knees. Or children running and falling down on that
And that is why I’m not getting that. Simple concrete is what I need
I’m not a cowboy and only been researching this method. They are doing it in the correct way.
can't even tie his shoe laces. no prep work. scraping and brushing the stones about to cover the last square metre. yee ha giddy up horsey.

Wheres the second man hole gone lol
A light dusting of gravel onto a thin layer of resin??? No mixer and 30mm depth? That'll last a month at least. The first time the car's steering is turned, it'll start to rip bits up.
And my manhole cover is where?
Go back to. 05 seconds in, there's actually 2.
LOL 🤠
Spilt some on the neighbours drive so ruined there’s too free of charge 🤦🏼♂️
This will last a 2 to3 years this product wasn't ment for high traffic area like cars this product will do good for patio
Shocking
They don't even clean the concrete prior to apply the treatment.
Did these guys come via the caravans parked on the common for a few weeks, a different pair will turn up knocking the door next year asking if you want it done properly 🤦🏾♂️
Rice krispies tut tut now wheres that manhole cover
This job is for open house, one week.
Yeh haa 🙈
Jesus wept! This is some pure and unadulterated cowboy work!! Some sorry sod paid to have this done!!!???
Umm..arent you suppose to mix the stones and resin together? Not just throw it on top of the resin.
Not enough resin used.
Why would somebody do this?
why is my name on here ?
Looks like my cousin Mario
omg!!!!!
not tradesmen that's for sure
Will last about 12 months & will need doing all over again!
+Floyd Solo Totally not how its done clearly should have been mixed in a mixer then layed. Why didn't he start from the garage and work his way out?
@@tinderinc thats bound not bonded u tit
ok so installing this over cracked concrete, I am 100% that the cracks (due to movement) will come through your nice new resin that is stuck to the concrete.
I can glue stones all by myself
Cowboy music yeeeeehaaaaa
So apart from all the other comments.. how exactly do you get into them manholes lol
Just had a price for my drive to be finished in resin 120 sq meters £30.000 pounds are all these people fools ???? I think i will just have tarmac 👍👍👍👍
Bloody hell steve where are you based?knock £17,000 and that’s the going rate we charge for resin drives.

Oh Dear 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Patch work 🤣
So much hate here for these guys,, what these guys are attempting its resin bonded not bound big big big difference.
Not my idea of a resin driveway
Should last a while 😂
Dude needs to tie his shoe
As it says in the upload, Thames highway services. ENOUGH SAID. stick to maintaing the roads.
The resin is supposed to be MIXED in with the stones, not just spread on top. Cowboys!
MultiRetro10 no.. Read the comments explaining the difference
The guys can’t even tie his shoes
