I wouldn't wear that GS on vacation. I'd wear it on a business trip to client meetings, but outside of that it's too polished and delicate. The Tudor is a vacation watch. Chunky, rugged and won't feel out of place anywhere, day or night.
I own both these watches (SBGJ261 Blue Peacock and the new Opaline GMT) and wear them each three to four times per week. I wore them both this weekend on the same day back to back; the GS to a formal gathering while wearing a suit and the Tudor to a social event later that evening. This really isn't a fair comparison. The Tudor is easier to read at a glance no matter what the lighting and has the better feeling bracelet. Even with it's greater size, it it easier to size properly so it feels great on the wrist and rarely needs to be shifted around while wearing. It attracts way more attention than the GS because, due to its size, it is easier to see at a distance and does not easily fit under a shirt cuff. It will fit easily under the cuff of a suit jacket or sport coat. The GS is really a semi-dress watch with a GMT complication. The bracelet is far more attractive, thinner and easier to take on and off, but is difficult to size properly. Depending on your activity and how much your wrist has swollen, it is either a little too snug or a little too loose. I find myself shifting it around on my wrist quite often during the day, but this is a minor inconvenience. That said, it is absolutely the most beautiful watch I own. If you are going to wear anything formal or semi-formal when you travel or are concerned with attracting unwanted attention; wear the GS. If you wear mainly casual long sleeve or short sleeve shirts, the Tudor is the better choice. As for performance, I have put both on my timegrapher and their performance is virtually identical; that is to say superb. These watches are worth the asking price and you will not regret purchasing either one.
I have this exact Tudor GMT and two other Grand Seiko (not GMT though), I love them all, the Tudor Pepsi is my choice for vacation because of its ruggedness and pair easily with any casual outfit. Wearing Grand Seiko is a different experience, the attention to details on GS watches make me feel like that day is going to be a special day
I have the Tudor, love it. It is chunky, especially when i put the BB58 on.. but when i want a little more wrist presence, the big brother hits the mark!
Ahahah so funny to see what is associated to what by whom. Most would compare GS to Rolex, NOT to Tudor, but Chrono24 basically lives off of Rolex as it’s the most traded (and overpriced in the grey market). Tudor is so below the line in the details and quality of the finish compared to GS. GS is always so much dressier than even Rolex, without SuperLuminova and with perfectly polished hands and indexes.
I’d go Omega over GS any day, but I wouldn’t compare these two watches just because they are both GMT’s. That GS is a dress watch and Tudors is a bulky sport model.
I own that GS and It Is Amazing in every aspect. Level of finishing on It is impressive , precision Is great (+3s/d) and It has a very distinctive design. In all honesty I don't use It very often because its higly polished surfaces make It a more dressy and elegant piece, even thoough It Is not properly a dress Watch..but I love It.
This isn’t a fair comparison GS makes an actual gmt with a bezel that would knock the Tudor out the park your comparing a dress watch to a sports watch here basically

I;m old School. Grand Seiko is a Top Brand, Tudor is not. As long as Big Brother is alive, I'd buy a Rolex GMT, full stop. But the Grand Seiko is a top model and should not be put up against a second brand, just because it is swiss. I'd buy the Rolex for Sports and the GS for business, as pointed out already. The only thing they share is GMT. Very poor review imo.
Seiko is something else you should compare with rolex! I have exact one ! Never thought i will buy grand seiko until i touch it with my hands its at the level of rolex

I love the robustness and rugged look of the Tudor. Also the ability to track 3 time zones is a huge plus

I'd go the GS between these two, but the beautiful Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT is sitting on my wrist now as I type this.

99.99% of people think of any Seiko as a $150 watch you find at the mall. I wouldn't pay over $200 for any Seiko.

In my book, the GS is two levels above Tudor. I’d wear the GS as a daily ‘good’ watch and the Tudor as a beater watch.
