I got into an argument with my wife about Cartier being a jewelry brand. Ultimately, her argument was, if you are a woman into watches, Cartier is the best brand out there that 1) you can buy easily 2) is not covered in diamonds, 3) not pink and 4) isn't overly large. I see her point now. I feel like many watch brands have patronizing design strategies when it comes to women's watches. Having tried some in person, I like the Santos more and more, especially the all black model. I'm not sure I'd ever buy one unless my salary gets a couple more zeros added to it. Men are more spoiled for choice when it comes to wristwatches, and I'd probably prioritize other brands. Also, your AP criticism is 100% on point.

I bought it pre-owned during the 2008 crash for $1,200. It wears terribly. I love the Rolex Datejust Oyster Perpetual. It was gifted to me by my grandparents. It was a business gift to my grandfather and he disliked wearing wristwatches. He only carried a gold Patek pocket watch. The 36 is a bit small for my wrist and I also worry about my safety in Manhattan. I bought my Speedmaster Professional in 1989 for $375, pre-owned. Was my daily for years and it still gets wrist time. It's my favorite watch of alltime. But since I bought my Bulova Lunar Pilot in 2015, the Speedmaster spends more time in the drawer. Again, I worry about safety. The real sleeper here is the Bulova Lunar Pilot. Sure it's big, but it fits me perfectly. I bought it pre-owned for $285 with box and papers in 2016. I love this watch! It's incredibly accurate, gaining/losing only 20 seconds a year. The elongated chrono pushers are totally unique and functional. The bead-blasted case is unequaled. The Cartier Tank Americaine takes my breath away whenever I take a glimpse. It's a magnificent watch and I get more compliments on the Americaine than any other watch. When traveling overseas, the only watch intake is the Casio G-Shock 2100. It's waterproof, looks great, and not a robbery magnet.
Things i would switch in the upper segments: Cartier, Laurent F, Patek --> really very good. Grand Seiko, A.Lange, Omega, JLC --> Devine and most importantly: Longines --> really, very good!
Yes please. Their technology and capabilities surpass Rolex. Rolex has its cachet and timeless designs so they deserve their spot, but IMO Omega definitely belongs in the Divine category as well.
Love your ranking! Not that I agree with all, but surprisingly many of themI find myself nodding and thinking "yes, hm, I actually agree with this one".
In general a very good ranking. I personally would move up TAG Heuer simply because of the Monaco. Which I regard 'quite good' hence to this position. Very entertaining video 👍.
I agree with your point about Rolex and ladies watches (why can't anyone else make automatics in 28mm???), but I otherwise just don't get the hype. Their steel is great, sure they have history, but why is everyone going bananas for them?
After watching the video again and again and again I agree with the rank of the brands mentioned 🙌🏻. There is just one very important Japanese brand missing but we know what happened to them in the editing process 😅
BAHAHA, FERNAAAANDO! FORGIVE MEEE! I feel like I'm definitely going to get in trouble for editing out Seiko ;) hehe. It came from a place of empathy and not making people sit through a 25 minute gringa video! ;)

100% agree with the rankings! Love that the Longines Dolce Vita is getting some attention, that is a great and massively underrated dress watch. It would have been an instant buy but for the fact that I'm saving up for that Cartier Santos I mentioned in a previous video...lol
RIGHT?! The Dolcevita is soooo underrated and it is such a shame! I think people believe that dress watches always need to be ridiculously priced. But they DON'T!
Longines is number 8 globally markets share is 5.6% vs tudor 2%... longines sold 1.7m pieces in 2022. It's just in north America that they're obscure and Tudor over hyped by same UA-cam rolex rah rah boys.
@@BrittPearceWatchesdo your research longines is mucu much bigger than Tudor... You're just being influenced by biased UA-cam rolex rah rah boys who hype Tudor. Hope they're aren't in rolex pr machinery.
I agree on Longines and also agree it will be in the higher categories next time. It may even move up to divine status in time as people recognise it's impeccable brand integrity and meticulous corporate history.
Great list and pretty much agree with all rankings. One brand I root for is Longines. They have such a rich history of design but they are a bit off with their case sizes and long lug lengths.
BAHAHA! I’m going to be back home for 3 weeks this summer and I’m going to go back to sounding full on Canadian! I can feel it already!!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!
I've stayed clear of other ranking lists of inferior quality and saved myself for yours Britt. But I'm afraid you'll find the Vacheron you showed is nearly double the price you mentioned. Thanks for another great vid.
Cartier being a jewellery brand doesn't contradict the fact that they make great watches. Nothing wrong with that and there has to be that one brand that takes a different approach to watches than all the others. ALS clearly belongs into the divine category. They are undoubtedly on par with Patek in my opinion. JLC belongs there as well. They are always so underrated but they offer such a great watchmaking for reasonable prices. Omega and Rolex swap their ranks in my view. Omega since a long time is at least on par with Rolex in terms of quality and they innovate much more. Breitling in recent years has evolved a lot so they need to be in the very good category. Blancpain as well. Yes, they seem to be kind of a one trick pony but the Fifty Fathoms is just so gorgeous.
I appreciate your having included Longines in your list. They are offering many stunners. Big eye, sector dial, 39mm Zulu time, compressor diver. Hmmm, to your point, maybe too many?
BAHAHA OOOOOH NOOOOO! How did I not notice the lack of Nomos?!?!?!?1 Goof grief. REALLY, VERY GOOD! They're not quite divine for me; but they are showing the in-house doesn't have to be ridiculously priced! I will forever have a soft spot for Nomos.
TAG Heuer definitely lost their way over the last couple decades ….. but check out the new black and blue dial Glass Box chrono’s just out!! Awesome! Are they due a comeback with all that history to draw on …… can they do it properly this time??
I can agree with most things but changes I personally would make: A. Lange & Söhne on top Rolex to quite good Longines to very good JLC on top AP to very good Breitling and Piaget to quite good
I know it's a matter of taste and to each their own, but how can you genuinely not like Tag Heuer? Looking at the new Carreras, the Aquaracer 300, the GMT Autavia.. I don't know, I think they deserve better. Also cheers from Calgary, love your vids!
I probably agree with these rankings more than most that I watch. Not 100% the same of course. I really appreciated the bold move of putting AP midlevel. I would probably out Lange up to top. And I prefer JLC to Cartier. I would have Longines next to Omega and Tudor. All that being said, you definitely have more experience with these brands “in the flesh” than do I, so you’re in a much better position to judge.
Britt, I have 3 Muhle watches, including the recent teutonic 3 movement. They are so well made and so should be on the only Official ranking list. Love your vids ;-)
I think AP has moved away from VC/PP's quiet refinement and more towards Richard Mille's 'look at me' watches. Royal Oak will always be iconic but they need to develop a wider spectrum more than just the Code11:59 (I have a 11:59 btw and love it). We need AP versions of Calatrava and Aquanaut!
I would bump up panerai and AP a tier cause i am one of the four guys who likes the code 11:59 and i can somewhat pull of a panerai Rolex should be 2 tiers down and iwc should be one tier down
Love your light humor when doing these videos! I would rate you in the "Devine" category for UA-camrs. I actually thought you were pretty spot on with your ranking of these watch makers, however, I was a bit surprised not to see Richard Mille on the list. For me, I'd probably rank it as Quit Good given the unique design and quality they offer.
Just got the call. Rolex SD43 126600. 5 months on the list. Treated wonderfully from the moment I walked in to look around. My comment on the wait was it gave me time to come to grips with the spend and to positively decide I wanted the watch. Oh my, and what a watch it is.
I think TAG deserves a bit more credit. They are on the up and up in my opinion. The new glass box Carreras are absolutely amazing on wrist, and I really liked the new skeleton Monacos on wrist. The Dark Lord Monaco is so cool on wrist as well, even if the rose gold bits ultimately aren't for me. I do respect the Kenissi movement powered Aqua Racer Professional 1000 in titanium. It is large, but very cool and I like the overall aesthetic. The solar Aqua Racer and Nigh Divers are very interesting as well. The new colorful 36mm Carrera is very nice as well, and they at least upgraded to SW300 based 56hr power reserve movements in those. I'm just not down with their prices. They think they're Omega level or something, but they're not. The used prices (excepting some limited pieces) reflect that. I met the head of IWC design last week (super tall, like me), and heard the process of designing the new Ingeniuer. They really put a lot of thought into it and they're absolutely brilliant on wrist. Definitely go try one on if you can. I particularly loved the Aqua dial variant, but black and the white are great too. The Mark XX is great (silver dial is cool), and while the white ceramic big pilot perpetual is not for me, it's very cool. All that being said, I'm still not sure the Ingenieur is worth the price they're asking. I personally would shave a couple grand off. As is, they're not far off from a GP Laureato. While I've not tried that watch on, I have seen them and the overall style seems a bit more worth it. No, 54 hours is not even close to a 5 day power reserve, but it's not terrible. All that said, I believe you placed them in the right spot. I also think Breitling is on the up and up. I really like that new Super Ocean. In photos I was meh, but on wrist I was shockingly impressed. I'm not a fan of their pricing increases, but it seems to be the way of the industry. Longines does need to thin their catalog out, but the new Zulu Time 39mm is brilliant (can't wait to get it on wrist...only tried the 42) and the new Conquest even looks quite nice. Definitely a step up from the (admittedly cheaper) older version. Their heritage reissues are great too. They just have too much other fluff in the catalog. What is up with JLC's prices? The no date Polaris blue dial I tried on bracelet last year was quite nice, but had a 40-hour power reserve for US$8,400. What does JLC do? Raise the price by 25%! What?! I know they're the "watch maker's watch maker," but would I pick that somewhat generic look over a GMT Master II? I didn't even pick it over my Explorer II. Give me a break JLC. Okay, I've gone on a bit of a rant and need to stop. I loved the video. Thanks, Britt!
TH has been crushing it the past few years. And, the 60th Anniversary Carerra (panda), although a limited edition, is absolutely stunning with a superb in-house movement.
New subscriber. Been working towards a three watch collection. Have Speedmaster, BB 925, and want to add a Cartier. But do I go Tank Must XL or Santos? So torn between these two!
Panerai is a love it or hate it brand. I never understood until I got a PAM 417. It's now my favourite watch by far. It's so comfortable on the wrist and it's built like a tank. Just love it, my other watches don't get a look in.
My list probably would have differed from yours. The one criticism of this video would be what exactly is your criteria for the rankings. As always luv your vids. 👍
I don't disagree enough to make a fuzz about it, but generally I like and understand your ranking. Also, speaking of Swatch. What about doing an own tier list of Swatch Group brands? Everything from Swatch to the old goat Breguet. Granted, I don't know if you have handled every one of these brands, as they cover quite a wide range, and some are a bit obscure, like Jaquet Droz and Flik Flak, etc. So maybe some judgement based on interwebz information and images should be allowed. Great content as always, Gringa! 🙌 Edit: A Swatch tier list will be the first watch brand tier list that can't follow the Rolex-on-top-Hublot-on-bottom mould.

-Patek Pocket Watch
I find my go-to watches are:
-Cartier Tank Americaine Chrono
-Bulova Lunar Pilot
-G-Shock 2100
The Panerai Black Seal never sees the light of day.
Laurent Ferrier....mmmm i never heard about it ! And i'm a watch enthusiast since 1992!
Check ‘em out. Used to work on high complications for Patek, now makes beautiful movements and watches.
Things i would switch in the upper segments:
Cartier, Laurent F, Patek --> really very good.
Grand Seiko, A.Lange, Omega, JLC --> Devine
and most importantly: Longines --> really, very good!
I should rise A.Lange&Sohne to divine and AP to really good. I agree with you in the rest. I also love Jaeger Le Coultre. Please forgive me! 😅😅😅
🤣🤣💕💕💕 this will all be taken into consideration when we do the official amendments
@@BrittPearceWatches 😍
I like the way you ranked the watch brands, very unique👍😊
Omega is DIVINE all day long
🤣💕 I’m soooooorry! The official amendments will be happening soon.
Yes please. Their technology and capabilities surpass Rolex. Rolex has its cachet and timeless designs so they deserve their spot, but IMO Omega definitely belongs in the Divine category as well.
Spoken like a true omega fan boy
It came from a place of empathy and not making people sit through a 25 minute gringa video! ;)
@@BrittPearceWatches and the god-tier casio. That needs to be made official too!
Price hikes aside, I’d bump up Lange, AP, & Blancpain and knock down IWC and maybe Tudor. Not sure Tudor is on same level as JLC and GS! Fun vid though!! 👏👏
I would move Lange up to Devine. Equal (or near equal) quality to Patek at a better price point.
You know. I am second guessing my Lange placement! Perhaps an official amendment needs to be made ;)

Hello my friend Britt - (and James!!!) - it's your good American buddy Elton..... I have been really busy at work and working thru a minor health deal so I have not been riding on the "Britt band-wagon" as per my usual! That does not mean I have not been watching your content and I am so pleased you are getting back to 100% - maybe even better than ever!!!!! Thanks for your "Ultimate Rankings" - the ONLY one that really matters. Always a pleasure to watch and hear your entertaining comments. Anyhoo..... Good seeing you in action my friend - take good care of you. PS for James/Watch Papi - despite being busy and getting a heath deal worked thru - I did buy another watch I have wanted for some time. A very "garish/flashy" Breitling two-tone Chronomat..... Yup - over the top but I just don't care!!!!!
Congratulations!!! 🎉 good to hear 👍🏽 hope you and your loved ones are all doing well my friend.
@@watchpapi Thank you Sir - ditto of course!
MOWERMAN IS HERE..... WITH A DIFFERENT SCREEN NAME?!?! :O Oh we've missed your comments Elton!
@@BrittPearceWatches Hello Britt and thank you so much!!! I know the "Mowerman USA" is a bit silly but I work at a Company that does make high end lawn care stuff - among other Made in the USA products so hence the silly "screen name"..... You really are looking like you are feeling much better Britt and I am so very happy. You are a gem and it "was stinking to high heaven" seeing you in pain. Can you believe I bought a "blingy" - two tone Chronomat - couldn't help it..... When I wear it - I feel like I should be in the movie Casino or on the Sopranos!!!!! Makes me smile and I needed a "boost". So happy again you are doing better every week and always good to hear from James. You guys seem like "two peas in a pod". (another movie reference!!!!) Love you guys long time..... Elton
Where would you rank Glasutte Original?
Close to any ranking in my humble opinion. Love your views. Keep them coming Britt.
Great list and pretty much agree with all rankings. One brand I root for is Longines. They have such a rich history of design but they are a bit off with their case sizes and long lug lengths.
Longines is sooo close to the magic formula!!! I am the same, always rooting for them!
The Canadian coming out 😂❤
BAHAHA! I’m going to be back home for 3 weeks this summer and I’m going to go back to sounding full on Canadian! I can feel it already!!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!

Brittany! You're looking mostly recovered! Glad to see you back to nearly full health!
I've stayed clear of other ranking lists of inferior quality and saved myself for yours Britt.
But I'm afraid you'll find the Vacheron you showed is nearly double the price you mentioned.
Thanks for another great vid.
Bahaha you have done the right thing waiting for the official list. ;)
You are the best watch reviewer on UA-cam, no question!
Lange under Cartier?! Your love for the brand is clouding your judgement! Haha....No FP Journe?
BAHAHAHA! Oh. This was so insanely biased … 🤣 Cartier above ALS doesn’t exactly make sense does it?! 🤣
@@BrittPearceWatches……they are very popular in england. i find them all too effeminate.
No Nomos 😭 Where would you have placed it do you think?
BAHAHA OOOOOH NOOOOO! How did I not notice the lack of Nomos?!?!?!?1 Goof grief. REALLY, VERY GOOD! They're not quite divine for me; but they are showing the in-house doesn't have to be ridiculously priced! I will forever have a soft spot for Nomos.
@@BrittPearceWatches haha, good to hear, my Nomos Club is my daily 🥰
Didn’t Cartier use ETA movements in their tanks for years?
So did Omega, so did Tudor, so did, lots and lots of others…..
@@chancebanana what a sad misogynistic comment. Try to be better.
This is the best and most honest watch ranking chart. Britt you are my favorite. 🤩
TAG Heuer definitely lost their way over the last couple decades ….. but check out the new black and blue dial Glass Box chrono’s just out!! Awesome! Are they due a comeback with all that history to draw on …… can they do it properly this time??
I can agree with most things but changes I personally would make:
A. Lange & Söhne on top
Rolex to quite good
Longines to very good
JLC on top
AP to very good
Breitling and Piaget to quite good

I know it's a matter of taste and to each their own, but how can you genuinely not like Tag Heuer? Looking at the new Carreras, the Aquaracer 300, the GMT Autavia.. I don't know, I think they deserve better. Also cheers from Calgary, love your vids!

Britt, you sure love Cartier! I would rank them lower. Please don’t block me. 😂😂
*attempts to subdue inner rage* hahaha! I KID! I think a lot of people would rate Cartier lower! But I am afraid to say, this is the official list. ;)
Agreed!
AP placement is criminal. The Code Ultracomplication is better than anything other trinity brands have come out with in 20 years.
AP is a one trick pony.
@@Worldgonemad Sure if that one trick is making the greatest watches in the world.
Photo’s don’t give justice to code at all. Visual illusions coming from the dial are insane.
It’s also funny that ap is hated but is more successful than patek and vacheron in terms of revenue
Britt, I have 3 Muhle watches, including the recent teutonic 3 movement. They are so well made and so should be on the only Official ranking list. Love your vids ;-)
I think Casio was left out because it wouldn’t be fair to the other brands 😊
Pretty spot-on in my opinion … but I’d move ALS up a spot and IWC down a spot.
Thanks for this Britt.
Ahhh it was so fun to make!
I would bump up panerai and AP a tier cause i am one of the four guys who likes the code 11:59 and i can somewhat pull of a panerai
Rolex should be 2 tiers down and iwc should be one tier down
OUU hooo! This is some big changes! 😱
This was great! How about you do one with more affordable brands? Tissot, Seiko, Citizen, Orient, Hamilton, Casio, Oris, Timex etc etc
A. Lange & Söhne needs to be devine. 😢 Almost in a catagory of their own. Maybe in the pukka catagory.
You know! I think we will need to address this when we do the official amendments!
Good ranking, I agree with the most steps with you 🤗
I’m sort of with you I think A Lange will replace AP within a decade when the Royal Oak falls out of favor
I really can’t argue with this. 🙈 I just don’t know what AP is anymore. 🤷🏻♀️ I want more for them!

WOOOAH ELTON! This is much too kind!! Thank you so much
Love your light humor when doing these videos! I would rate you in the "Devine" category for UA-camrs. I actually thought you were pretty spot on with your ranking of these watch makers, however, I was a bit surprised not to see Richard Mille on the list. For me, I'd probably rank it as Quit Good given the unique design and quality they offer.
Hell yeah, love these!
Right?! I love watching these!
Nobody ever includes Glashutte Original lol
Just got the call. Rolex SD43 126600. 5 months on the list. Treated wonderfully from the moment I walked in to look around. My comment on the wait was it gave me time to come to grips with the spend and to positively decide I wanted the watch. Oh my, and what a watch it is.
That’s amazing! Congratulations 👏🏼

How about ranking the German watches next?
Ouuu I love this!
Panerai is a love it or hate it brand. I never understood until I got a PAM 417. It's now my favourite watch by far. It's so comfortable on the wrist and it's built like a tank. Just love it, my other watches don't get a look in.
You should pronounce your favorite watch brand the right way - it is not “Cartyay“ or something like that but “Cartyeeh“.
My list probably would have differed from yours. The one criticism of this video would be what exactly is your criteria for the rankings. As always luv your vids. 👍
Seiko and Casio: 😢
IM SOOOORRY!!! Mistakes were made! 😭💕💕💕
Edit: A Swatch tier list will be the first watch brand tier list that can't follow the Rolex-on-top-Hublot-on-bottom mould.
I agree with everything except moving Cartier down to “really very good” and Lange up to “divine”
You know! I can't argue with this at all!
Cartier cannot be Divine .. they're dainty and fashion watches. They're also not robust.
