    What really makes a difference for me when activating my glutes is to lift WITH the glute, not do the exercise and feel the glutes. Also not to aim for big movements but the quality of the movement and also to go slowly to really connect with the muscle! Hope it helps someone! ^^

      @SofieMorena, can you explain on what you mean by "lift WITH the glute" opposite "not do the excercise and feel the glutes"? Is it different to what she's showing in the video?
      Just want to make sure if I understand correctly and if that's what I've been doing.

      @@sandtx4913 Here is an exercise that might help understand the concept if you try it out yourself. Stand up straight and position one leg back a little so the toes are touching the ground, then clench just the glutes of that side. Don't think about lifting the leg, just clench the muscles. As a result, the leg lifts a little!
      In a lot of workout videos, they seem to do fast large range movements, but in those cases I tend to mainly use the femoral muscles and just activate the glutes a little in order to complete the exercise. I wasn't isolating the glutes, they just happened to be activated slightly.
      So when I have the mindset to lift with the glutes and don't think about doing it fast or wide range, I can easier connect to them and train them. The exercises she's doing are good for glutes, but they are also hard if you to begin with have great difficulty isolating the glutes. I like to do these standing exercises first to connect more easily and then really take my time with other glute exercises.
      Sorry for the long rambling reply but hopefully you feel the difference I'm talking about when trying the standing exercise for yourself, it's a little difficult to express it in words haha.

      @@benextinction__144 Yes I know, but isolation is key especially when one has great difficulty connecting with certain muscles. Thats why I do them before other exercises.

    Coming from someone who has NEVER felt my glutes in any exercise, I did just fifteen of the first one (banded hip thrusts) with the band and honestly...it’s the first time I’ve experienced any hope that my glutes could ever be toned, much less, activated at all. Fantastic and immensely helpful.

      I haven't watched the video yet, but I've also found single legged deadlifts, donkey kicks, and romanian split squats to be the best to glute isolate.

      Glute bridges helped me activate it fast. Boy when I tell u it was the first time ever I ever felt my glutes burn like hell and show how fast I could activate them.

    You may never see this but I am glad you posted these videos. I don't have an Asian booty, but I was suffering from weak glutes. I had a slight anemia that I just corrected this year. I had been having a hard time activating my glutes up until 3 weeks ago which was causing my knees to ache something fierce. The first day I did these 5 exercises my butt activated. 3 weeks later my original butt size is back and my knee pain is almost gone, which means more exercises are needed! I appreciate your videos!

    Im a 18 year old man. And i love training glutes lol. Best three exercises for me:
    - Bulgarian Split Squat
    - Hip Thrust/Bridges
    - Donkey kick back

    Hip thrusts truly work!! I found it to be more effective with weights rather than bands all the time. Give it a try!

      did u feel that exercise at all? It did nothing for me idk why but i could do that for hours & cant feel anything. Maybe it's better with weights or for a very tall person who's leaning to create load

      @@scarlet8078 Maybe you should try an additional set or two, a resistance band, and or ankle weights. When I first started doing the workouts I couldn't feel them, but not too long after I kept doing em for a while I started feeling them. Note: sore doesn't mean affective. And feel free to look for more videos in the community! 😄 👌♥️

      Oh please, just euphemistic self-denial talk as always.. curves are far more feminine, womanly, attractive and desirable always - not just bc men love that (bio-psychological attraction/desire/preference), but so many women prefer curves too.. yes, you can have your own beauty, e.g. lovely faces, but body-wise, curves over flat any day everyday! 🍑 💯

      @@islaadele1212 the general rule still stands, that homogeneously/ bio-genetically/ statistically, oriental Asian women are flatter/ significantly smaller, in comparison with many other groups, namely, African, Black, Latin American, South Asian (Indian, Sri, Lankan, etc), Arab, Middle Eastern, and even certain white European groups.. so, just bc you’re a white chick with a flat butt, that’s you as an exception, like others

    As a clinical nutritionist and doctoral candidate, I am always looking for awesome workouts, this video was hands down very professional and well-made!! You explained how the workouts work the muscles by showing the muscle diagram and showed how to do the exercise correctly.
    I have been scrolling through tons of phony fitness gurus that have no idea what they're talking about. The ones that do... thier bodies are super bulky and not feminine looking or its misguided training.
    Showing the muscle diagram helps know where to "squeeze", if you catch my drift. I would love to see more videos like this about other muscle groups.
    I finally I found someone that fits my category!!! 🙌

I’d like to ask for tips on how to do hip thrusts where we’re feeling the tension on our glute rather than the legs/quads because I’m struggling with that

      Squeeze your buns as tight as you possibly can when doing the hip thrusts. be very mindful of how you do each movement. Instead of lifting with your legs, let your bootay carry your body weight

    Here to help increase my squat/deadlift (and my asian girlfriend has a flat butt!). Another benefit to the band during the hip thrust is that it reminds you to drive your knees outward as you thrust up, forcing your knees in a much, much safer position. If you let your knees cave in, it can put way too much stress on them and cause injury. Maybe not for bodyweight thrusts, but adding weight, any weight, can be dangerous. And hip thrusts are one of those movements where most people can move a good amount of weight. 315lbs may not feel so bad, but your knees won't like it. Enjoying the video so far!

    i’m am really confused on how to start a booty workout, should i start just like where you started or should i do a pre-workout routine or what they call “glute activation”, or the glute activation and glute workout itself is just the same?

      Glute activation should happen before your booty workouts, they help to wake up your glutes for more effective results

      Honestly it’s really hard to distinguish between glute activation and glute workouts at home because usually my actual glute workouts include heavy weights and Lucy’s workouts are what my warmup consists of. As long as you are activating the glutes in some way, I think it’s the best you can do at least during quarantine.

      I play a 3-4 minute song & do quick cardio to get my heart pumping for the duration.

      Glute activation - resistance band

      Glute workout - weights or bodyweight

      Glute activation : light/body weight ; glute focused workouts like bridges,clamshells,fire hydrants etc ; 5 - 15 minutes
      Actual workout : heavyweights ; compound movements ( works multiple muscles) like squats,deadlifts etc ; also some isolation exercises ( like glute activation but with heavier weights)
      Burnout : lighter weights ; any preferred workouts ; until failure (you can't go anymore)
      Hope this helps....this is what I've learned to do and what seems to works :)

    I am half korean and somehow I got my mother's side of body features instead of my dad's side. I need to grow my glutes so hopefilly the fabric booty band I just bought works wonders as I add in your glute routines to change it up a bit. Thanks for the videos!

    April 1: I’m gonna TRY to keep up doing the exercises using no band since I have none atm. I’ll alternate between the two exercises where she uses no band for... maybe 20 - 30 minutes.
    I know it’s not a lot but considering I basically do no exercise (I’m trying to change that) it’s a big step.
    I’ll try to update in a week and see how she goes.
    P.S. This isn’t April Fools joke.

      Try to put one hand on the glutes where she says you're supposed to feel it engaging (in the exercise where you're laying on your side in particular). I couldn't get that move right until I did that and could actually feel the muscles activating. It's pretty cool to actually literally be able to feel it working.

    How often do you work your glutes during the week and how long do you normally train for? After these workouts do you do anything else?

      2x a week and probably an 1-1.5 hours! I've been focusing a lot on stretching and mobility

    Hi! I’m new here. I tried this combination of exercises today and loved it!! Banded bent-legged side-lying abductions were killer 😅 I couldn’t quite get the hang of the single legged kneeling squats - my thighs were on FIRE 🔥 and couldn’t feel any glute activation through the burn. Any pointers or tips for that exercise? ♥️💪🏽

      I tried this and it didnt work, sometimes I dont even feel like a real woman 💅🍑⏳, Most of us asians are destined to hav zero bottom or hip size ☹🚪

    Love this! After regular hip/Glute thrusts I like to do a round of frog thrusts followed by the inversion of that (with knees touching and feet out to the sides of the mat)
    It always gives me a super round plum lower/side butt!

    @LucyLFitness! Hi! Love these glute exercises! I can tell these are effective on you! 👍. Just want to say, friendly tip girl 😚 to make the hip thrust even more effective, targeted, and protecting the lumbar, be sure to keep your forehead faced towards the wall in front of you, chin pinned as much as possible to the chest (per Dr. Bret Contreras, who did his dissertation on the hip thrust! 😊) 🍑

    After exercise need to drink protein shake... U can notice ur butt getting bigger after 12 weeks of exercise. Need 2 to 3 days rest between to rest ur glutes to grow.

    A tip, most of us prefers to do our training with u doing the exercises. So,you could do the total routine,even if is just five or ten minutes. Sería de mucha ayuda.

    ohhhh these are so great!! yall those that focus on the under side of the booty WORK my booty aint huge and thats fine cause i have a small frame but it makes your butt sooo perky and defined yn no use having a huge ass if u only look good in clothing

    How do you get the way to workout while on your period. Day 1-3 the cramps and fatigue are too much

      Just take that time off, you dont need to push youself insanely. Just do it for the rest of the month; if it works at all, you'll still see results.

    It's interesting how she labeled her video because there is another very famous fitness instructor who is also Asian and she blames it on her ethnicity for not having a big butty. This shows me that if you put in the work you can obtain results.

      I know who you're talking about but let's not forget that there are billions of people living in Asia and not all of them have identical genetics. They also have quite different workout styles based on what they show online and that obviously shows in their bodies. So I wouldn't say any of them isn't putting in the work because both have great bodies :)

      Blogilates probably doesn’t use weights or resistance. She mainly uses her body weight. She has strong flutes though.
