What I’ve learned in studying psychology for 3 years, is that we can’t really blame these women. These abusers subconsciously instilled a psychological hold on their victims. She can’t leave even if she wanted to. Shes conditioned to stay with him. It’ll take extensive treatment and/or an extreme event to get her to leave.
I’m SO lucky to have escaped my abusive ex… if I had his child, I am convinced 100% that I would not be here right now. 100%. I hope this lady finds her strength through community & never looks back

When someone is beating you, yet, loving you at the same time, it’s hard for victims to realize their being victimized. Even if the abuse is clear as day, they’ll hold onto the good times, in hopes the abuser can revert back permanently.

But the most shocking part of all of this isn't how he is or what he said. It's that she walked off stage to go continue living this life. That wasn't only shocking, it was deeply sad. I hate to say this but this story looks pretty fake. Those two have been on TV before and they did not look geniune. This show used to be good but now, it's recycling the same stories but with different people. It's amazing this show lasted 17 years but now I feel that this year could be the end! I can tell this episode is going to go viral. I was truly shocked by the mom and disgusted with the dad. I can tell they both didnt have the best childhood teaching growing up.
I’m so glad the guy in the second segment WAS the father & that he didn’t give up when she wasn’t sure/told him he wasn’t. But also that even when it was thought that he may not be, that he was willing to stay and raise her as his own. No he’s not obligated, & he’s not perfect (at least he knows he had his faults)… but he seems like a good guy who truly does love her and his family/kids.
