I just think it's crazy how early Arnold can still hang with the best. Arnold with modern pharm would be a nightmare. He would blow everyone out of the water. Although it may have increased his large waist. The benefits would still hugely outweigh that slight negative. Like I said before his chest and biceps would just be utterly unimaginable. With modern technology someone needs to use some CGI to just see how great he would look. Were talkin atleat 25lbs of extra size with better conditioning.
Arnold achieved 245lbs with relatively weak steroids and no GH, you give him everything in a BB's medicine cabinet today he'd be 295 on stage easy, and with his skeletal structure and muscle symethry good lord it would be ridiculous, no one, I mean no one could touch him.
Here's one way to try and envision a modern Arnold had he been in his 20s to early 30s in the early 2000s and bodybuilder throughout that time. Think of a guy with the size of Gunter Schlierkamp with the back of a 98 Kevin Levrone, asthetics of a 94 Levrone and chest of a Greg Kovacs, now once you have that image in your mind add extra high peaks to the biceps and slightly lower lat insertions. That's basically the monster you'd be dealing with!
Again I don't understand why everybody under appreciate Arnold's legs I feel like 1974 was the perfect physique as far as Arnold's. His legs were just right as far as size not too big not too small the striations and separation in his legs are insane especially for the 1970s.
@TheLusianPopa well, I could never really like a physique if the guy didn't have a good set of quads. That's why I like Shawn Rhoden, dennis wolf, and kai Greene. The huge quads and wide shoulders make for a great x-taper. By "proportions and aesthetics" guys usually neglect the legs, which I don't agree with.
I'd rather look like Bob Paris. Arnold is simply too big and freaky to anyone that doesn't follow bodybuilding. Bob Paris looks like a greek statue and an athlete.
Dorian, big, massive, gnarly, grainy and monstrous. Arnold, graceful, most awesome arms and chest ever, incredible poser, always charismatic, smooth, style and grace. Giving it to Arnold.....he’s just what a bodybuilder should be. Arnold is art, Dorian was a freak. I’ll choose art every time.
Dorian is just a giant freaky mound of muscle but there is always something so aesthetic about the Austrian Oak...he just has this symmetry and smooth flowing physic. The Oaks arms and chest are superior to almost anyone’s. Both these dudes had great calves but Dorians back and legs are simply amazing. The muscularity round begins with the classic Oak......that picture is classic. I give this to the Oak, because there wouldn’t be a Dorian without Arnold.
Arnold = greatest ever!! The best biceps and chest in bodybuilding history. Also one of the best posers ever, nobody will ever hit a better front double biceps! If he didn’t retire to become a movie star he could have easily won 9 or 10 Olympia’s.
Agreed - but more like 14-15 O's. he would have easily won '76 - '82, being he would have gotten better being he was only 28 in '75, and he had already owned the winners of those years Zane, Franco, and nobody doubts he would beat Dickerson. Nobody doubts he would have beaten Samir in '83, and very probable beating Haney in his first O win in '84 when he wasn't near his best. In '84 Arnold would have been 37 - prime years for a bodybuilder. To add, he never trained HIT, or going super heavy like Yates & Coleman, so chances of injury would have been slim. Fourteen O's is VERY realistic - a record that would never be matched!
@ To say Arnold is "not even close to having the best biceps" proves you know nothing about the game. Arnolds bicep peaks and fullness are unmatched even to this day. Ok yeah, Coleman comes close, who also happened to be around 3 eras later with the availability of GH, slin and myriad of other AAS that they didn't even have in the 70's. Look at the original cover of his book "Arnold: Education of a Bodybuilder" and then talk to me. While his chest was massive and did overshadow his delts, to say his delts were shit is simply not true. His delt development dwarfed Sergio, Serge, and he was even as wide as Lou duh. Even in 1980, when he was a shell of himself, his delt development murdered the comp - he made Mentzer, Walker, Zane and the rest look like children in terms of delt development alone. His 3-quarter twisting back double bi shot, twisting single bi shot, and bent over twisting back shots are all iconic. SO much that the last pose is even the one used in his statue in Columbus, OH for the Arnold Classic. He showed his back in more poses than any other competitor during his reign - again duh. Not to mention his BDB pose destroyed everybody during his reign, Serge had no back, Sergio only had a V taper with no back detail, and Lou's back was pitiful compared to Arnolds. Arnolds only weak back shot was his RLS, hence why he rarely hit it. However his FLS was impressive AF. Who else had better legs than Arnold in his prime? Sounds like you regurgitating BS that you've heard or read. Arnolds quads were sliced from knee to hip, with decent qaud sweep to boot. Not to mention he had the best calves of any O winner outside of Yates. Did Serge, Sergio, Lou, Robby, Waller, Franco have better leg development? How about even comparable? Nope. Arnolds quads were even more shredded than friggin' Zane. Son you need to go sit dafuq down.lol
@rxp56 prolly because back in the 70's, most guys knew how to pose. Does that mean doing exotic shit, dancing or rorbotics like Kamali, Kai or Melvin? No. It meant they knew how to pose to show their strong points AND hide their weak points. It also means flowing from one pose to the next - be it gracefully like Zane, or BOOM like Yates. Lastly, it meant having a signature pose or two, which Arnold had many. Being you criticize Arnolds posing, you prolly do the same with Yates, right? Believe it or not, Yates was one of the best posers out there. Even with his BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, in-your-face style, he was a master of the mandatories, and also had a couple signature poses that nobody could replicate near as well, just like Arnold did.
@ Two quick points as I don't have time to waste on ignorant opinions. 1 ) For you to actually use Marko Savolainen as an example of great biceps, why don't you throw in Ruhl, Brad Hollibaugh and Manfred Hoebrel while you're at it?LOL Oil outta the ass GTFO. His current physique, while looks impressive for his age and natty, has biceps that are unusually small, with a deflated look, compared to the rest of his physique. Typical look of an older guy who once abused oil. But I guess ignorant ones allow SEO to be counted as fair eh? 2) Your statement of "literally everyone" had better legs than Arnold during his reign proves you completely unworthy of any realistic, unbiased opinion judging physiques. Nubret had sticks for legs, with prolly 14" calves to boot, and you put that above Arnolds?LOL Do you even lift?? Go find your "safe space" and fret kiddo. ;)
Dorian Yates was leaps and bounds ahead of Arnold from a bodybuilding standpoint. He had more muscle, much better conditioning and better balance and proportion. From the back his superiority is even more noticeable. Now, if you think Arnold looks better based on your personal preference of what a physique should look like, his flow, etc., then that’s good. But from a bodybuilding perspective, Yates was on another level.
Dorian had human growth hormone. Arnold had steroids. The growth hormone works on increasing the number of cells. The steroid, however, works on increasing volume of cells. In other words, Dorian could make more muscle cells using the growth hormone, while Arnold could only increase the volume of the cells he already had. That is why you see more muscles on Dorian but not from Arnold. Both of them acknowledged that they used these drugs. So.. yeah. They both put in a lot of efforts. But... Dorian took one step further and actually increased the number of cells... more than increasing the volume of the cells.
bro arnolds physique was way more esthetic than dorians. And thats the thing, as soon as it becomes un apealing to society, people lose interest in the sport as a whole. Just sayin
By your logic, Dorian wouldn’t place high today, he’s too weak with his fat gut and weak from the front. They built their physiques to the criteria of their time, and Dorian wouldn’t fit todays criteria as much as people think
From a bodybuilding perspective, Arnold had much wider clavicles, a much more aesthetic waist and abs, much better shaped pecs and all around better sweeps in the muscle bellies. Yates had mostly superior legs and shoulders (especially from the back). And, yes, looking at muscle balance, just by "size balance", Yates won, but the shape of his muscles and his structure overall is inferior bodybuilding wise to Arnold. With todays standards though Arnold wouldn't stand a chance mainly due to the legs being much smaller and being too smooth (especially from the back). He is "outworked" from a bodybuilder that from a bodybuilding perspective had a much inferior genetics structure wise (and how the muscle bellies looked). Yates maximized his potential! Arnold peaked only for his olympias and could look incredibly bad between competitions.
It's not really fair to even compare Arnold to Dorian, even though he still does hold his own in some respects. Dorian was basically a fucking scientist. He had everything down to an exact science and was so god damn disciplined about everything. Arnold still lived a relatively normal, enjoyable life while being Mr Olympia. Dorian sounds like his time as Mr Olympia was pure punishment and torture. The nice big bright Gold's Gym and Dorian's small dingy dungeon-like gym perfectly represented each of their lives as body builders.
Arnold at 2:06 has grace to his pose, and really knows how to show himself off for the best effect. Arnold also his my favorite biceps shape. They are both faves of mine. In one of Arnols books, he said he liked do do a lot of front shots with his waist twisted to appear narrower. In Arnold's front lat spread, Arnold said he likes to display as little free space to see through as possible between his lats and upper arms. Maybe not as thick, but spread wide. At 1:28, Arnold's pose makes him look gigantic and ripped. The shoulders, pacs, upper arms and upper traps make him appear gigantic. His quads are thick, too. In 12.25, back pose, I like the extreme detail n his upper back shot. Dorian's inner lats are killer, I never seen anything quite like it, but in the previous Arnold shot, his biceps look like a light bulb plugged into his shoulder., my favorite biceps of all time.Arnold wrote that he liked to turn his head in the back double biceps shot to bring the traps out all the way to the top. Again, an artist's touch. I've never seen inner lats like Dorian displays in his last pose.Strips of thick, rippling muscle. This will probably be a photo we'll see for years. When I saw him do this live on a show on UA-cam, my jaw dropped.
I like how you make Arnold's image closer to the camera to make him look bigger......a lot bigger.....the truth is that Yates' muscle mass , and that of those that competed alongside him in the 1990s, was on another level.....
@@majortwang2396 A lot of that got into his much, much bigger legs. Their upper bodies doesn't differ that much. Arnold has a bigger chest and better arms.
As did Arnolds lack of legs next to Yates. And conditioning. But overall I prefered Arnold anyway! Much better muscle bellies and shapes. Wider clavicles. Better proportions.
I would have given it to Arnold, asthetics and symmetry matter to me more than a well conditioned back, especially if the 2 backs in question have almost the same size, relatively the same insertion points and similar enough Christmas trees.
The real question to me is...."Who would I rather look like?"... If it were possible I would definitely choose to be built like Arnold instead of Dorian.
Standing double bicep is arnolds all day, symmetry, lines, aesthetic, arms- no contest In the end Arnold does deserve the goat!!! That last photo is more important than a back shot
Totally agree bro. That last shot of Arnold shows chest and delts too, not only bicep - far more impressive than Yates' lower back! Arnold also wins the back double bicep over Yates easily. Arnold is the GOAT!
Dorian is the start of mass monster and he's abs is even than todays champion still not better than the old school guys. Arnold has a good flows and he's X mass is way better even dorian back is thicker. Arnold for me.
You Arnold fans are insane lol Arnold at his absolute best would be embarrassed badly onstage against Dorian in his prime . He would look like a fat slob . Arnold competing 9-12 percent bodyfat and Dorian 3-4. That alone is enough. But pose by pose . Arnold takes the front double and let’s say side chest (even though Dorian’s shoulders and legs to side dominate Arnold’s ). That’s it . Every single other pose Arnold gets manhandled and embarrassed. It’s painful to watch . You guys need a reality check . Arnold looked great in pics and put bodybuilding on the map but he isn’t even top 10 of greatest of all time .
Dorian the greatest to ever walk the stage. A 15-2 pro record, never finishing outside 2nd place. An 88% win percentage compared to Ronnie Coleman at 39%, Haney at 68%.
I like both guys, but if arnold was in the same era as Dorian? He would win hands down. Even Ronnie (imo the second greatest ever) said Arnold was number 1 and would be unstoppable with modern 'science'
Xander Guldie Yes and despite the fact that he would be bigger and better in every way, he wouldn’t look as good as he did already. My only complaint with Arnold is that I wish we could have seen him at his best. By that I mean his training needed to be totally uninterrupted throughout the 70s and that he continued to improve on his 1974 physique and instead retired from bodybuilding 1978-1980. That would have been a ridiculously great physique which personally I believe he already has.
@@Jason-me1bs you guys are soooo delusional . I’ve never seen anything like it it’s scary lol do you think Arnold taking tons of juice is going to make him grow legs ? Or shoulders ? Or triceps ? Or a back ???? Steroids don’t fix genetic issues . Arnold would be lucky VERY VERY lucky to get a pro card in the 90’s let alone go head to head against Yates . Lol Jesus Christ you guys need to get off Arnold’s dick .
Come on people. Arnold would have NO chance against today’s bodybuilders. And he couldn’t carry Dorian’s jockstrap. These photo comparisons are useless. You would have to see the side by side real-time pics and Arnold would be dwarfed by Dorian. Arnold legs were weak, he had no hamstrings. He had no business beating Sergio Olivia, that was BS.
Great channel man - love the comparisons. Arnold has always been #1 in my book. His lines combined with size are unmatched. Many bigger, but not even close with the lines. However gotta say, you need to get the scale right on these my man - you have Yates appearing too short. Yates had Arnold by 20-30lbs on stage, yet in every shot Arnold is dwarfing Yates. Being a graphic designer myself, if you scaled Yates up in most pics by 3%, it would be right on time. ;)
I'm 45 and can remember seeing Conan in the drive in movie when I was about 7. Seeing Arnold the first time. Dude Left and impression. What guy out there didn't want to look like Arnold at least one time in your life..
im only 38, but one of my first memories was watching conan, I seen Pumping iron when I was just a kid and instantly fell in love with Franco Columbu. Cant beat the old school look
@@marxmaxmuscle1 the old school ones practiced posing 2 hours a day. that time ain't ever coming back. They literally lived in the gym. Must have been fun. No fckn cellphones.
@@speculationtv6311 what a simpler time it must have been. And to be seen as "different" for wanting to workout like that must have been pretty cool too haha. Would loved to have been able to experience that era for a year or two.
Hell no. Arnold wins the FDB and the Side chest easily. Those are two of Dorian's weakest shots. Arnie wins Most muscular pose as well if we're counting that. That was another subpar pose for Dorian.
Like Dorian much more. I started with Fitness as an Arnold fan. As a child he was like an idol to me. The big, strong alpha man. But the older I grew the more I learned more about Dorian Yates and the more I started to appreciate him. First of all just comparing the physiques: Dorian is bigger, harder, he just looks stronger. That what I liked about Arnolds physique, Dorian brings in, in a better package. He looks bigger, thicker, stronger and harder. But that's only one point. But even more inportant than that are their characters. Both are the strong alpha Male, leader types. But while Dorian beeing the more grounded, down to earth, hard working, no quitting personality, Arnold is rather a Showman, he's somewhat narcissistic, egotistical and tries to much viewed in a good light. English isn't my native language, so it's hard to completely express, what I wanted to say, but I hope it was understandable so far
I can see giving the win to The Shadow. However, I would say most of us would rather have the physique and classic one arm biceps pose displayed at the end of this video by The Oak, than Dorian's best back shot. Just my opinion.
Arnold at 10:26....Still better than any other physique I have ever seen...even to this day..just INCREDIBLE. Dorian is known for his Mind Blowing Back...and it was....but Arnold looks so much better. Dorian was known for his monstrous calves too...Arnold has him beat there too. Arnold was one of a kind...his 1974 was better than Sergio, Ronnie Coleman...any and all of them. Truly amazing!
Put them side by side on Stage. In their Prime Dorian would Blow Arnold out of the Building. Dorian was 4 inch shorter and 50lbs heavier. Plus in way better Shape. Get a Grip!!
Yates had no upper chest in comparison to Arnold, and Arnold's biceps are literally twice the size of Yates'. Arnold is huge but aesthetic, Yates is huge and unaesthetic. The only outstanding body parts Yates had was his back and calves, the rest was pretty mediocre. Arnold had way better proportions and symmetry. Arnold looks like a work of art, Yates looks like a big blob of disproportioned muscle .
It's unfair to compare different eras. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a mass and conditioning front runner in his day just like Dorian Yates was 20 years later. Arnold Schwarzenegger should get the nod because his job was WAY harder. He brought size, conditioning, and aesthetics. Dorian only brought size and conditioning. Dorian lost the aesthetics every year he competed...to the point that many of his wins are the most controversial of any multiple times champion. But, to Dorian's credit...He didn't need Weider to personally mold him, pay him to train, and disqualify his greatest rivals either...
Antifa and ISIS are terrorists And Dorian deserves his wins? he should have not win in 1997 with an blown out tricep and lackluster performance especially being compared to Nasser
@@bestdocincanada6620 Exactly. Arguments can be made for Kevin Levrone in 92 and 95, Flex Wheeler in 93, Shawn Ray in 94 and 96, and Nasser in 97. That covers all six Sandows. Honestly I think Flex, Shawn, Kevin, and Nasser should have snatched up at least one.
Arnold probably took 1-2 steroids and look at what he was able to do ? Yates was on how many steroids ? Plus HGH and insulin . Adding up to at least 5 substances minimum just to barely be able to come kinda close to Arnold that took 1-2 roids then went to have meat patties in Venice and called it a day lol It’s really sad to compare. Poor Dorian.
Both are GREAT in their own way...just cut from 2 TOTALLY different molds. Dorian at his best was INCREDIBLE and Ground Breaking...but ARNOLD is THE GOAT...I'll take Arnold at his best over anyone and everyone before and after. Dude was the KING.
Like many other bodybuilders of the modern era who have won the title of Mr.Olympia Dorian will be soon forgotten in the history as he doesn't have what we consider to be unique part of body.
@@MuhammadAli-Lateefnope dude it was 73 version of arnold Arnold was known for extremely big but in front of dorian he won't be that big cause different drugs and approach modern bb are way bigger that's why
Arnold was at his best in 74. Nowhere near as good in 75, because of a film role that summer, and worse in 80. Haney though - got to be the most consistent competitor of all time. Don't think he was ever even slightly off.
Interesting comparison, but really Dorian wins hands down, the only areas Arnold is better are the chest and biceps. Dorian is more complete, more muscle, better conditioning. Sure Arnold has a great aesthetic flow to his physique, but that is more to do with his posing and the way he twists at the waist to hide his wide midsection than to muscle shape and flow. Below the waist is no contest even Arnolds calves are just no match (Arnolds were just over 19" where as Dorian's were 22"). As for the back double biceps it is Dorian by a long way, better hammies and calves, better glutes and spinal erectors, better lats, traps and delts. The triceps go to Dorian, as do the forearms, leaving Arnold to clearly win the Biceps (better arm separation too). Arnolds back double biceps has only one stand out feature (the biceps), Dorian just looks more complete, better separated and even more aesthetic in this pose. Now if Arnold was in his prime during the nineties then that would be interesting … competing at 290lbs?
Wow.. Exotic shot of arnolds is body physic is beyond everybody todays body builders. It always looks beautiful and amazing...greek god body like from head to toe. Perfectly build and beautiful proportion . How amazing arnold was.. GOAT🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Dorian’s back looks like 3D just skin and muscles like out of an anatomy book. Arnold is my favorite of all time. His body was a sculpture like out of a Greco Roman times. Maybe there was something to being aesthetically pleasing too but if it’s a display of the extremes of human musculature, Dorian wins. The sport developed simple as that but I’m a huge fan of 70s body building. They were beautiful not freaks. Dorian was amazing tho!
I think you shouldn't even consider comparing them.. 2 very different era! Dorian had much more tools to achieve a physique like that! Arnold was always big in his own era.. still bigger than dorian in chest and biceps .. Lats and legs? Pftt!.. Arnold had one of the best legs .. except for 1980s.. he had good deep seperation! Just that he don't have mass in em doesn't mean he don't have any legs.. And lastly.. Arnold, is 6 feet 2! Dorian is 5feet 10 or 11 I also want you to know I'm a big fan of both of em.. Arnold is the one who got me into bodybuilding! I always have a big respect for him Dorian was the one who taught me to push to Xtreme!
Conditioning - in Arnold's era was more "natural" conditioning based on training and less on certain juice. So will not be any problem for Arnold to get better conditioning 20 years later. More... mass monsters were also related to change in support substances. In this context, it is incredible what big arms and chest have Arnold with less sophisticated and less amount of support substances.
Yates wins the "Back Double Bicep" for me, His back is complete and thick. Arnold's back was wide but not thick, and it easily shows to an experienced eye. However if Arnold had the same gear and knowledge of the modern judging criteria. He would have adjusted his training to thicken his back with heavy rows. If he did this and with his nearly perfect back structure he would defeat even Dorian from behind. Look at Arnold's back he has a complete back with good lower lat insertions. For me Arnold had the best genetic gifts we have ever seen for body building. Top Chest, Biceps, Calves, and Back. After this the shoulders and Legs were still better than 90%. In modern times he would have adjusted his training and came in near 280lb's. Forget about Ronnie his structure and muscle insertion were not as good.
@@madhujyaburagohian1870 yeah but Dorian is just objectively better. Stand them next to eachother and dorian's conditioning, vastly superior lower body, better back, and better lats easily make up for his subpar arms and chest (and even then, his posing helped to maximize what he had, like the side tricep). This is especially true if by today's standards. Though it would definitely be much closer if it was during Arnold's time where lines and aesthetics had more weight.
Tough to compare Arnold to Dorian. Two very different bodybuilders all the way down to their training style. It’s apples and oranges. Both had the most majestic physiques FOR THEIR ERA. That is pretty much where the similarities end. Put Arnold in the 90s, he ends up looking more like Paul Dillett, but with a slightly better back. Put Dorian back in the 70s and Dorian may not have been as massive as he was in the 90s, and possibly not as conditioned either, since they didn’t have diuretics in Arnold’s era.
Even if is dorian yates' conditionning is legendary, he does not display that many details. In the BDB for example, arnold arms separation is much better. Striated glutes do not tell the whole story. Overall arnold is looking so much better aesthetically. Even in photoshoots where everything can be tweaked, yates physique never looked appealing to me like on those photoshoots on the beach. Bodybuilders used to look good in that setting. Yates always looked awkward in these kind of outdoor shots. And to me that sums it all. Didn't we start training to look better in "real" environments?
Different eras, different physiques, but from the pure competitive bodybuilding perspective, this is not even a fair comparison, I mean not fair to Arnold that is.
@@ericdatuin9619 I am not sure Arnold would get much better even with modern drugs. He would still be lacking in leg development, triceps, his midsection was wide even when he was in his prime.
Yates is only remembered for his back. His arms, legs, chest, and abs were never very good and they just looked ugly. His calves and back are the only things that let him win.
@Antifa and ISIS are terrorists You are a troll. Arnold was the first bodybuilder to have a full christmas tree in the back. Funny how you mock Arnold's waist when Dorian "bubble gut" was 5 inches shorter than Arnold and had 4 inch bigger waist at 37 inches while Arnold had 33 inches.
@Antifa and ISIS are terrorists Dorian the bubble gut was infamous for his HUGE gut and will never be considered the true best of the 90s. Even Ronnie Coleman recently said, if Arnold competed in this era with the drugs, techniques and nutrition of the modern BBers, no one would have been able to beat him. In 1971, 1973 and 1974, for his era no one could touch Arnold when he was getting in his prime. This is something everyone agrees he was the king in the 70s when he was at his best. In 1973 and 1974, he was absolutely the best the 70s had seen. Dorian's huge bubble gut and his beginning of the era of disproportionate physiques with distended mid sections will forever be etched in history as some of the darkest times in bodybuilding.
@Antifa and ISIS are terrorists Dorian Bubble gut Yates was absolutely horrible in most of his years post 1993. His chest looked tiny next to his huge bubble gut. He was the father of the huge bubble guts. He himself told Joe Rogan IGF-1 and Growth hormones caused big gut in his later career. He had no arms, no chest and a huge gut. You want pictures? Only lats and calves. Nothing else. Tiny chest overshadowed by the huge sticking out gut. Live with it! He is the bubble gut father and an overwhelming majority of the people would prefer Arnold's physique over Dorians. You can look up polls on it. Dorian won 1995 and 1996 Olympia only on calves and lats That is it, fanboi. Nasser destroyed him from the front in EVERY SINGLE pose. You might be the ultimate fanboi, but Arnold in 1971, 1973 and 1974 was unbeatable by any bodybuilder from the 70s era while Dorian was beatable by many bodybuilders of the 90s after 1994. You have to live with that.
@Antifa and ISIS are terrorists Pregnant babybuilder. Hahah! Live with his pregnant huge bubble gut. Nothing, but lats and calves. Everything else, he was mediocre next to Nasser and Shawn. Nasser destroyed him from the front in every pose. There are comparisons by Mark on it. Look it up.
If you give Arnold all the benefits of modern drugs and science as Dorian had he would be even freakier which is crazy to think about there’s no way to compare the two unless Arnold was taking the same amount as Dorian and got Arnold on the mass monster affect no need to decide both are amazing

Go find your "safe space" and fret kiddo. ;)
Arnold's biceps were great, but I would take Robby Robinson's biceps over his. He's about the only one though.
And this is way Arnold is the best bodybuilder ever! 💪
Arnolds upperbody is overwhelming Dorian. Dorian only has quad and back thickness over arnold
To make a fair comparison, you should use either 1973 Mr. O or preferably 1974 Mr. O Arnold.
There's literally nothing fair when this guy compares anyone to Arnold.
@@travelreview5962 There is nothing fair when you compare two bodybuilders 25yrs apart, and considering that, Arnold is the greatest of all time.
Arnold all the time. His legs were Perfect for the Overall Picture. Pure Aesthetics vs the GH starting Freak

Great quote and brilliant movie!!
Dorian was around 20 or 30lb heavier on stage & 4 inches shorter. No doubt at all who carried the most muscle, but Arnold carried it better.
@@majortwang2396 A lot of that got into his much, much bigger legs. Their upper bodies doesn't differ that much. Arnold has a bigger chest and better arms.
93 or 95 Dorian. Espesially 93 Dorian better than any Arnold's year in my opinion.
Yates lack of biceps is really highlighted next to Arnold.
Oak arms, chest, vacuum. Shadow everything else.
The real question to me is...."Who would I rather look like?"...
If it were possible I would definitely choose to be built like Arnold instead of Dorian.
Arnold - better chest and arms.
Dorian - better leggs and back.
Standing double bicep is arnolds all day, symmetry, lines, aesthetic, arms- no contest
In the end Arnold does deserve the goat!!! That last photo is more important than a back shot
Totally agree bro. That last shot of Arnold shows chest and delts too, not only bicep - far more impressive than Yates' lower back! Arnold also wins the back double bicep over Yates easily. Arnold is the GOAT!
Arnold’s calves were also At their best in those 74 shots
Dorian is the start of mass monster and he's abs is even than todays champion still not better than the old school guys. Arnold has a good flows and he's X mass is way better even dorian back is thicker. Arnold for me.
Size too big
So true. Delusional Arnold fanatics
Arnold’s body is class
I prefer Arnold’s
Dorian the greatest to ever walk the stage. A 15-2 pro record, never finishing outside 2nd place. An 88% win percentage compared to Ronnie Coleman at 39%, Haney at 68%.
I like both guys, but if arnold was in the same era as Dorian? He would win hands down. Even Ronnie (imo the second greatest ever) said Arnold was number 1 and would be unstoppable with modern 'science'
Can you imagine Arnold having access to the same knowledge, food, equipment and "vitamins" as Dorian?
Xander Guldie Yes and despite the fact that he would be bigger and better in every way, he wouldn’t look as good as he did already. My only complaint with Arnold is that I wish we could have seen him at his best. By that I mean his training needed to be totally uninterrupted throughout the 70s and that he continued to improve on his 1974 physique and instead retired from bodybuilding 1978-1980. That would have been a ridiculously great physique which personally I believe he already has.
@@Jason-me1bs agreed, today's bodybuilders are way to big. But it would still be an interesting "what if"
ARNIE,THE BEST
Arnold couldn’t handle the stack that Dorian lived through. Yates was so grainy.
Arnold had better arms and chest with dorian having a better back and legs!
So true!
Being a graphic designer myself, if you scaled Yates up in most pics by 3%, it would be right on time. ;)
Yo this is genius. It’s like the two beginning mass monsters of their time compared. Mannnn Marx you never disappoint
Dorian wins overall but I don’t care man you can’t beat Arnold’s biceps 💪
Chest & slim waistline...dang
When all is said and done most people would rather look like Arnold. I rest my case.
I'm 45 and can remember seeing Conan in the drive in movie when I was about 7. Seeing Arnold the first time. Dude Left and impression. What guy out there didn't want to look like Arnold at least one time in your life..

Dorian wins all poses. 1993 crushes 1974! He is the UK superior answer to the Austrian Oak!
Hell no. Arnold wins the FDB and the Side chest easily. Those are two of Dorian's weakest shots. Arnie wins Most muscular pose as well if we're counting that. That was another subpar pose for Dorian.
Nope
Dorian looks a bit squishy for me. And Arnold’s a far better poser which makes a difference.
I like Dorian a lot, these days I really respect Dorian's relationship with ayahuasca in Brazil. Dorian is very clearly a humble and nice man.
Even with all that modern drugs Yates was using Arnold still had bigger chest and arms.
Yates all the way. This is bodybuilding. Not a beauty contest.
Arnold, Zane and Yates are my favorite Bodybuilders
Thank you for posting this video. Your commentary is the best and the funniest!
Arnie❤
I think what's appealing about Arnold's physique is that he does have some mass, he has that freaky factor, yet he still looks athletic.
You actually made me laugh with the protein shakes line 😂 I was actually thinking about Food right before you said that
Yates had no upper chest in comparison to Arnold, and Arnold's biceps are literally twice the size of Yates'.
Arnold can't beat dorian's lat spread
Antifa and ISIS are terrorists
And Dorian deserves his wins? he should have not win in 1997 with an blown out tricep and lackluster performance especially being compared to Nasser
Dorian out muscled Arnold. Arnold’s thighs weren’t close.
Dorian Yates destroys Arnold every shot
Like many other bodybuilders of the modern era who have won the title of Mr.Olympia Dorian will be soon forgotten in the history as he doesn't have what we consider to be unique part of body.

When u say bodybuilding, everyone will think Arnold
It’s clear Dorian is far ahead on thickness and conditioning.. you know.. actual bodybuilding. Arnold has a larger frame.
I think a great question to find out who’s best is, if you had to choose one of them for your physique, which would you choose?
This guy is a fanboy of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the comparison of him and Haney exposed that.
Yep i TOTALLY AGREE BRO. He bigged up Arnold b4 the the comparison. They might be related. 😆

Arnold was at his best in 74. Nowhere near as good in 75, because of a film role that summer, and worse in 80.
Haney though - got to be the most consistent competitor of all time. Don't think he was ever even slightly off.
Back Shots at 10:20 and 12:20 are the same shot...GREAT shots though..in my mind Arnold Blows Dorian away...unbelievable.
A video comparison between these two judging their routines would be interesting.
Actually dorian body is very ugly.. Thats the truth. The end.
Arnold in 71 had a wicked front lat spread.
I think a better question to ask might be who had the more enduring legacy: Arnold by a mile. Dorian really only had 2 convincing wins: 92 and 93.
Arnie! 🔥💪🏽
The Oak>The Shadow
Arnold just DOMINATES from the front, Dorian has absolutely nothing to throw Arnold’s way, yet Dorian wins from the back.
Good video as always brother! Keep it up.

I was surprised at the end of your vid max.
And disappointed aswell by your conclusion.
I feel betrayed..
Dorian is 5feet 10 or 11
I also want you to know I'm a big fan of both of em.. Arnold is the one who got me into bodybuilding! I always have a big respect for him
Dorian was the one who taught me to push to Xtreme!
If Arnold compete today he take 30 lbs easily with today tech and win everybody on Mr O stage
Arnold's arms from the rear are crazy
Dorian all the way, Arnold had a skinny legs though
Dorian had no arms or chest though

Sergio oliva 72 vs Dorian Yates 93 nice one mate Hope's all is well have not a clue how to watch so many speak soon

All I can say is these are two of THE all time great physiques!!

Look it up.
The Oak throws a Shadow...
If you give Arnold all the benefits of modern drugs and science as Dorian had he would be even freakier which is crazy to think about there’s no way to compare the two unless Arnold was taking the same amount as Dorian and got Arnold on the mass monster affect no need to decide both are amazing
To easy to end this debate... had Arnold been around in his time.. he would of had more back and legs period.. he was an unstoppable beast.. no one.. but no one was beating Arnold had they all had the same tools and goals..
