I've heard that before, but I think shaman in different tribes dress in feathers and furs at celebrations that represent a spirit animal. I heard that Skinwalkers came to be when a tribe member killed another person in the tribe or the family. They were skinned alive and burned and they forever roam the Earth seeking vengeance for their death. At least that's what I've heard.

one of the hippos from hungry hugry hippos escaped the tourture he went through, to make sure he wasn't found, he changed his name and had surgery, but the surgery was messed up because one of the doctors was high, after the surgery he was broke, so he tried to find a job, but he couldn't because of his looks, since he couldn't get a job, he started to starve and ready to eat anything, and he also got sick so his vocals were creepy to hear, and it was hard to make out what he said, so he ended up going itno the woods to live and eat after some thought, he ended up finding a dead animal, while he was eating two people found him, (the hippo's thoughts) oh crap they found, quick think of something to do, i know i must use what i learned in training (narration) he ran towrds one of them

It's a great story, but the Rake and Skinwalkers aren't the same. Skinwalkers are a Navajo legend about a spirit, usually somebody that can transform into any animal it wishes, mimic people's voices. Often were people that killed a family member, I believe.

Ok, so in the first minute I’m looking at the pic thinking “What is supposed to be the creature here? Am I just not seeing it?” So I set my oatmeal down, kept staring intently at the pic, blinked, and then BAM! The damn skin walker is staring back. You got me good, damn good! I’m mainly glad I hadn’t taken a sip of milk before that! And, to boot, yet another fantastic tale. These are definitely my faves, cryptids and the like, hunters, wannabe hunters, stalking cryptids, etc. keep up the amazing work! Love it!

One time me and my friend heard some noises in the sewers, we were walking around at night (ding dong ditching). My friend heard some noises in a sewer, I didn't. I thought he was paranoid, but I heard some echoed shuffling coming from a drain pipe. So I just said to walk faster, so we did. We heard some type of screaming and we sprinted. I just dismissed it as some cars tire drifting or something, but there no cars around because we were out late. Any idea on what it would be, because if it wasn't a car tire, I would think it be the rake

This is the story that almost put me off creepypastas 7 years ago. It is so scary and even listening to it now scares tf out of me
the rake and the skinwalker are very different in all ways
Behavior wise, The Rake and Skinwalkers are very similar. They actively stalk prey, tapping on windows, hanging out on roofs, and banging on doors. Skinwalkers are described as being slim and gangly and pale with gaping mouths that it's rumored if you look into them you'll have your soul sucked out. However, Skinwalkers are notable for wearing the skins of animals (which in Native American mythology, is considered a taboo) to transform into an animal. I can't recall any story about The Rake being able to run at the speed of the wind, which is another Skinwalker trait, but there is a definite inspiration from Skinwalker mythos for The Rake.
