I was planning to do something else next. The decision to make this video was very spontaneous as I keep seeing misinformation and fantasy stories being shared about this man to this day. In the description you can find links to the different versions of the Klonis story as well as the investigation upon which this video is based if you want even more details and proof regarding the identity of the Weary Warrior. The investigation has only one mistake which I spotted as I was editing and searching for material. The date of birth of Angelo Klonis is October 28, not 26. I had to cut a 20 second segment from the video to exclude this mistake..
Here are just a few of the ridiculous arguments of the Klonis story:
-Klonis was motivated by revenge after the Germans slaughtered his family in Greece and demanded to be sent to Europe (because apparently in the army you can just demand from your superiors where to be sent to fight)
-Klonis was in some kind of special forces unit that sent him to Normandy, Norway, Germany, then to the Pacific and all the way back to Europe to get discharged there.
-The caption "T.E Underwood" refers to two names. One John Ray Underwood who was Klonis' friend and the T.E was the greek nickname of Angelo Klonis which means "Crazy Greek" in English, as he was known in his special forces unit.
-Angelo's son Nick found a monetary note of the Philippines in his father's military box which is "definitive" proof that Angelo Klonis served in both theaters of the war.

Fun fact: On his birthday (October 28 1940) Greece entered the war, by rejecting the Italian ultimatum, leading also to the first allied victory in Europe against the axis forces

Greece capitulated. That wasn't a victory.

@@ww2-epicbattles I think he means the many victories in battles against the Italians. And the diversion of German forces to secure the balkans instead of rushing into the USSR did affect the course of the war.Anyways I ll make sure to link this video next time I see the Klonis post in FB, cant find any of em now.

@@ww2-epicbattles You are seriously in need of a grey and white matter (brain) examination......and if you then do pass the psychiatric examination, you will then need to sit for some serious exams in regards to military history....... before you make such ridiculous and outrageous commentary. I hope this helps.

@@ww2-epicbattles in the same way rostov was the first setback of the Germans in the Eastern front, so was the italian defeats in Albania the first setback of Axis forces in general (at least on land, cause otherwise that honor goes to the Brits doing the battle of Britain)

War takes a toll not on the physical capabilities but the mental and emotional toll that it takes. War is brutal. Good video you made. Keep up the good work.
