It's all in the settings and the limbing knife's are set up to pulse open as the tree goes and if you have it set wrong it will just bit to tree or pulse to much it all about milley seconds . And if you don't knew much about it best to get someone who is a operator and noes what the machine is capable of doing. Even dealers can get you in ball park but it is the guy who can find turn everything so you can get the most speed pre second and a nice Even pulse that cleans the log of all limbs without biting and tearing into the bark. Between that and how to shape the knives is extremely important also. But when you have it right. It's just like a grove attacked to your hand.
that's cool pard, makes it good watching when you yourself are still learnin a buggy and see the hiccups of not running it regular lol. There's somethin to be said though for being able to hop in any piece of iron and get the job done, maybe not the fastest but still gettin er done just the same. Safe cuttin friend and I look forward to every new episode friend
I feel the same way and have issues regarding that where I work..........they don't really feel it necessary for everyone to be able to do anything because there's plenty of operators. Example would be blading roads, they switch so many people around blading that none of the roads are done the same or theu just knock the tops off washboards so they look like a hero and got it 'done' in record time, although half assed. I work at whole ass or no ass type thinking so they only see it took me way longer to blade but don't keep track of how much longer it lasts between different guys.
Woos 31 ya the just think the peopledriving on the road tore it up faster .been there done that crap speed is not always the key specially when it comes to grading road
you know those two buttons above your feed buttons will bump you up or down to the closest length in your presets. not to tell you how to do it but it sure makes it easier.snd that's what it's all about, making it easier on yourself
west coast logging alex esgate those little buttons on the inside of your left stick should have you species and or sorts and the right side has lengths
west coast logging alex esgate it would be fine if it was a commercial for hostess cupcakes.... You run that processor like it was an extension of your arm... What machine cant you run?
i would like to get on a forworder and a harvester some time .road grader had a heck of a time but was only on it for a couple miles maybe i will get a shot someother time
You did a good job on that cutting head ,,, you seem to run every thing ,, maybe not the fastest , but YOU CAN fill in anybodys spot it seems ,, Yes a yarder seems your best piece on vids , but hey You get logs Man . Best Regards J
I would love to set up your head I can fin tune I been operating logging equipment since I was thirteen I'm forty four years ago now I can run just about anything other then a yarder and I would never want to. Anything goes right you would have to live with guys getting hurt even if it wasn't your fault it would still be awful. But everything else bunch skid processes load truck's how chuck forwarder harvester cutting off the stump bulldozer like I said I have done it all and it makes sense if you have someone who you think you would like to keep around it does make for the best for each job if you no what it like being the next guy behind you that is what makes a huge difference between noing what the guy coming behind you need to make his job easier a more production maybe someone who chuck wood and never processed road side and builds the deck from the wrong side and processing it is a nightmare if tangled up bad I can drop production in half and make operations want to quit the best thing to do when you have this problem is to have everyone come and talk about it not calling anyone down just so everyone can make the best out of the job
I normally like to work the other side where you can see your measuring wheel that way if it skips you can see it and not have an over length, here in northern Ontario the mills dock you pretty hard for having over lengths.
damn I miss getting some with the 622b! cheers from southern oregon
i hear that really been missing the mountain lately

west coast logging alex esgate I think you have to be half octopus to run grader but I wouldnt be surprised if you could pull it off..
Chuck Driver the problam i was having was hanging on to the raines and working the levers at the dame time.and thats no joke .

Joe Wolfe 10.4 buddy snowing as we speak glad i will be in a cab
Interesting video Alex.
What capacity is that Waratah head? 30" bar?
Chuck Stevenson this one will take a 36inch butt
No need to see that small screen you provide more information than what's on that screen. Enjoy hearing you exclamations tnx Alex.
does that processor head ever spin out on the log and mess up your length?
They spin out but the length is measured by a separate wheel not the drive wheels
I normally like to work the other side where you can see your measuring wheel that way if it skips you can see it and not have an over length, here in northern Ontario the mills dock you pretty hard for having over lengths.
if you do ding it up deny and delete the footage haha leave no evidence haha stay safe buddy
10.4 my boss is pretty good about understanding that its logging but have worked for a couple guy's that would freak about a stratch
