Dang I was hoping to see the evolution of that H in that CB9! I was hoping you were dropping video for “forged internals” or “getting the H ready for big power” oh well, “K is the way” nice to have a 6 speed option
@@accord_aero_r ohh well the difference is that the 6 speed will get out of 1st gear quicker than say on a b18 trans/H trans 5 speed. My fg4 civic uses up first gear way quicker than my cousins integra gsr trans. Both have Mfactory lsd both stock synchros. However, it all depends on the build. If youre going anything that isnt k series, youre likely utilizing a 5 speed. The 6 speed k series trans have balanced gear ratiod that basically make up for having an extra gear, but at the same time allowing more grab for power with 6 rather than 5. Compare the ratios, the only time i’d say a 5 speed outdoes a 6 (when speaking of performance) is in the mountains
Water pump housing, alternator, tensioner and powersteering pump needs to be switched out to usdms to avoid problems with replacing them in the future. The jdm ones are hard if not impossible to find stateside.
At least on USDM motors you cannot rely on the RBB number to determine differences but rather the actual year. Ive seen 2006-2008 tsx motors that were RBB-2 that had the larger valves, cams, etc. You also wont use any of the original engine harness plugs. And will simply be just pulling them back through the firewall to conceal them. An oem rsx base, ep3, or crv harness works good you dont need a high dollar tuck harness. You can even convert auto k series engine harnesses from auto to manual to save more money.
Cant wait to keep up witj your build as im currently getting my cb7 ready for a k swap this may. Love joe detailed you sre with what specific things are needed for this swap, thanks alot!
I guess i'll wait to buy my mount kit then lol, I'm sure you can have the wires on the tower if you want and if you want a stock ECU you might need an immobilizer bypass.
Dash isn't hard to remove. I can pull one in about an hour if Im being careful to not break any of the plastics but the thing I dread is pulling the clock. After 30 years the plastic on the clocks is so freakin brittle. I have yet to get one out without breaking the clock.
Smh dame you already have swaped the motor ive always wanted to put in my exact same wagon and color as yours, but the H22 R spec still isnt cheap and nearly as much as K swap id imagine its just K route seems like a dam headache 😢
Here's my view on that jdm engine mileage ( on going claims passed down) ive bought few jdm motors and quickly realized that aside from what the staff tells me (less 75k) there's no way to verify what mileage is cause there's never a car with motor in it to see, as all jdm engines imported are motor only so they could say it has 56k miles and it would be believed as well and to hear the same mileage from the 3 different jdm importers ive purchased motors from kinda like its traditional to mileage claim 😂, guess to hear that h22 has low compression on cylinders 1-2 begs the question how does a low mileage jdm motor already have 2 cylinders with ring problems 🤔, either was neglected on oil changes and had got beaten all its life or it has alot more than 75k +/- miles on it , either way its still worth fixing least in my opinion that motor with a Bseries tranny regardless which one is ridiculously quick much needed when pulling 3800 pounds of classic weight 😊
Would recommend the h22a4 or h22a or h23 they all mount the stock motor mounts from what i was told I bought my cb7 already swapped so I'm not sure 100% on that
Hey, I couldn't see any other way to contact you, hope you see this. Would you happen to have a right rear ABS speed sensor for a CB7? I've got a pretty nice '92 Accord EX 5sp coupe with the ABS light on, and my mechanic confirmed it needs this discontinued part. Would love for the ABS to work, as it has saved my @$$ more than once in my CR-V. TIA
Would you sell the current setup? I’m looking at a H22 swap. I’m not a mechanic but between my son and I think we could rebuild the H22 to solve the low compression. Thanks!
I would love to have that package for my 92 cb9 .my car has been sitting up for over a year due to a sized f22 a6 from over heating. and finding a good f22a6 is hard to come by where i am .let me know when you get to that point .Im not in a rush wasn't planning on working on my cb9 again until march anyway we can work out something on it
I would totally take the h22 off your hands!
Good luck with the k swap. Appreciate your work.

Yeah, fixing the H would have been cheaper than the K swap, but still an interesting build.
6 soeed way better for turbo/supercharger especially high comp with supercharger
I don't know, people seem to prefer fewer and longer gears with bigger power.@@trackshun

@@trackshun not sure about this one. I hear mixed opinions on the 6 speed for turbo applications. Depends on gear ratios for sure.

This is going to be bad ass! You are making the wagons look cool
If my cb9 didn’t get totaled i was going to do the same thing…can’t wait to see the result
Can't wait for the rest of the K series build. Would love to see some welding videos and rust repair videos for the RSX as well

I love that car its my favorite body style wagon and year gotta love a cb9, that was my first car and u always wanted to k20a swap it with a 6 speed
Let's go! Keeping fingers crossed for successful swap!

Nice video. Ya #1 reason i didnt go K in the cb7 was the height of the engine. Will be interesting to see what happens here.
Glad you are doing this swap as I know you will be detailed... I want to do the same swap
I would suspect the valves over the rings on the H22.
Looking forward to the new build!
excited for the swap!

this some exciting stuff
Hi how is everything
I saw all the episodes but I never saw the one you install the k24 lmk thanks

I have practiced clock removal on a few junkyard vehicles and have never been successful yet.
I have a 02 accord auto and a full h22 manual to swap any help would be great!!
Just did an abs and ac delete it’s pretty simple!!!

02-06 RSX. All of them used a cable driven throttle body.
Base RSX throttle body attaches to a plastic intake manifold which is the big difference. Type-S would be the one to get if it’s RSX
@@randomrebuilds Was referring to the part about being cable driven versus electronic.
What subframe and axles you going to use?
Hey, I have a 92 Honda Accord, which engine is shareable, without having to make so many adjustments? Thank you

Im on IG @ Random_Rebuilds. Yeah I could get you that sensor from the yard.
I'd love to have the H22 for my CB3 build :')
Hi I was just wondering if my ecu from my 1996honda prelude will work in my cb9 will work in there
Did you end up removing the abs unit? I need it for my 93 coupe if you wanna sell it.
Not just yet. It will be for sale shortly though
💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥
Would you sell the current setup? I’m looking at a H22 swap. I’m not a mechanic but between my son and I think we could rebuild the H22 to solve the low compression. Thanks!
Yes, I plan to sell it as a complete bolt in assembly.

any news about hasport mounts
Just checked their website and they are now available! Will be ordering shortly...
If i be you ill just fully build the H22 and keep it H22 but that's just me i just feel that the H22 belongs in the cb9
Motor sold already?
You still got the h22
still in the car...
If thats from jdm, its certified low mileage, and in goof condition.
Will you be selling your motor mounts or are you going to keep it?
Engine, wiring, ECU, mounts, header, PS line - it’s going to be all one package.
Can I get the h22 for my cb7
Innovative mounts are trash. Had bad experience with that company
