Felt like crying watching this because it's exactly what I need to hear. I know how to lose weight, I know how to start connecting with people, I know how to stand up to my dad, I know how to learn those languages I've been wanting to learn. I just need to do it and actually do the work. Watching theses self-improvement videos makes me feel productive like I'm doing something (that's why I clicked on this video) but in all actuality I know where and how I need to improve myself. So thank you, I needed to hear this. I've subscribed and I'm saving this video so that I return to it every time I need this reminder.
hey be kind to yourself, take things even one small step at a time, and if things don't work out be kind to yourself and recover and then regroup and think about things you could do to gradually improve situation for you just doing the process of goals helps a lot too, and small steps with your dad, maybe think about why is it he is being difficult, is it because he is concerned about you or is he just mean? build your skills and learn things and maybe get a part time job and save up money in a secret online bank account you can use to get your own place one day it might take a while but having small sreps you can do will help take your focus onto the things you can do and dry you results through time i found that just not snacking between meals helps a lot, but if you excercise and get your movement up every day that will help you a lot to feel a lot better as it flushes out all the cortisol (heavy feeling biochemicals) from stress if we walk fast or run on the spot or do burpees for even a short time every day i hope life will be really good for you soon be kind to yourself is key though, and even just doing one small step towards making things closer to how we want them to be and fixing any issues that cause conflict helps a lot too what is it your dad is being difficult about? I'll try to help you with advice if i can, I've been through a lot of similar things so i hope you will be ok, be kind to yourself is key, you are dealing with a lot and there's lots of people telling us how we should be, but you be you, you are Great i bet Happy life to you
you know i saw so much improvement in myself after i stopped watching them. my life was in shambles before i started watching them but it was worse after i started watching them. it was great at first and then i noticed a pattern. in the videos those people "plan and do" meanwhile, "i was just planning the plan and never doing the do". the more i watched the more plans i made and even if i followed the plans once in a while, it never lasted long, no consistency or whatsoever. it made feel so bad about not being able to do anything even though i knew what exactly i needed to do. like it was a dark stressful period of my life. i felt like a complete failure. AND then i quit them. right now, i am still not there yet but i feel good about myself. i am very consistent with habits and routines. and actually getting my work done. the thing is, those videos are helpful but so addictive. so i really think people should just quit them for good after a while. because planning things is easy and gives you an illusion of progress but in reality, you are still standing at the starting point, where you have always been.
This is the only video that I needed to break out of my laziness cycle. Been doing nothing for a week, but surely watched tons of self-improvement videos already, and nothing happened. IT'S ONLY UP TO MYSELF, NOT ONLY TO THINK ABOUT DOING IT, I SHOULD ACTUALLY DO IT.
a quote of mine is “you have the capability to learn every ability” want to learn a language? start! you’ve already learnt one. learn an instrument? you won’t learn it by not trying! want to be more social? more confident? more happy? start to work on your goals, instead of letting them work on you. take them into your hands, and adjust your mindset. then, you’ll have the capability to learn abilities :)
you don't need "self-help" videos or books, you just need to be conscious and start small. if you have eat badly, use social media, have a bad sleeping cycle, just acknowledge it and start with the small stuff press pause, close your computer/phone, and read a couple of pages of that book you never opened :)
Agreed, I think a lot of people get caught in those cycles. Same for learning art/software, an endless cycle of tutorials and never actually doing the thing. Since doing the thing is the scary part, what if it's not perfect, what if I can't do it at all etc. Also love all the creative shots you got, this is a great showcase for how underrated the A5100 is and you're showing perfectly how expensive gear doesn't really matter :)
You're so right especially with the fear. And when I end up doing those things, eventually it doesn't feel so scary or hard. It's just bc I'm spending extra time on it, which is completely normal. Smh the human mind sometimes...
I watched so many videos of self-motivation... until I literally closed a video and said: "in place of learning in videos how to live... I will just live". And, from myself, I started being who I really want to be! And right now, I have my own daily morning routine! And my brain is way more peaceful than before 🙏🏻
relating a bit too much to the beginning of this video 😅 literally just went down a rabbit hole of self improvement videos while not doing any of the ACTUAL changes i've been meaning to do (and putting off) for months now. really appreciated this video: from the meaningful message, to the way it's shot and edited and i also did enjoy the "imperfect" audio by the water, it felt more... idk real? like a friend talking to me, more authentic and easier to connect, if that makes sense. anyway gonna put my phone down now and do some journaling and then go to bed for a reasonable time for once so thank u! 😊
There are those that watch and those that do. First comes action, then motivation follows, most people get that mixed up. You can't steer a parked car.......get into motion and the rest will get figured out in the doing. Great film by the way, super professional editing
It's nice to see a person go through there own personal version's of self improvement. I'm glad I watched your video and thank you for sharing a snippet of your bigger picture. 🦑
She is soooo right!!! These days I find myself deleting every self improvement videos on my phone. And I started working out today. It's scary and i do feel like quitting, but i won't. The beginning is always very hard... Thank you darling. Thank you for telling it as it is. It is very relatable. Love ❤❤❤
Direct to the point that go do the work as planned. But there are times people are so anxious unable to write a plan or even 3 things to do next or simply go out for 15 mins walk but keep binging on online media. We need to not seek perfection but simply start. Success in a small task that matters most will feed into more success and discipline for a complex task. Nice reminder. Let me get started with work.
hi Pair! we're about the same age and i think you're right - by that time, we KNOW what to do. I just watched a couple videos on how to get myself out of a rut, and the tips were exactly what I was already trying to do. it's just HARD. we know what to do, we just like the idea that someone has magically found an easier way. maybe I should just assume they haven't. thank you for this!
Pair, this is such an incredible film! I love your cinematography + typography! I can't imagine how much work it took to get all the different b-rolls and perspective shots! You're an incredible filmmaker and I'm really looking forward to your future work. Subbed!
The fact you chose rock music at 1:13 made this so much more enticing to watch, you instantly came across as a main character badass and I'm here for it
I just recently came substituting my time on social media to spending time on youtube as it had been a real long time since I was actively using youtube. I am super glad to have come across your wonderful content as you have stimulated me to learn more about videography and follow the path of cinematic vlogs that you are currently walking on! Thank you for creating this lovely piece of work. Sending warm hugsss
this was an AMAZINGGGG film. i could 100% relate to the overconsumption of self improvement videos, and you just end up falling into this massive rabbit hole!! so proud of you for making this commitment to yourself, and so excited to see what you create
I love your authentic self and how high quality films you do, and all on your own and on top of your full time job and training Muay Thai. My badass friend, keep on going! All the best for you!
I don't comment often, never actually, but this was so creative, the editing, the shots, the music ! Not only the subject was very relevant to me but the whole video in it self was delightful to watch
This video just called me out in the best way needed. I’ve been watching too many self improvement videos since last year, but I haven’t actually taken any action. Luckily it’s changing!

Knowing how to do something and not doing it is because of your paradigme in your subconscious mind. I advise you to do some research on this.
hey be kind to yourself, take things even one small step at a time, and if things don't work out be kind to yourself and recover and then regroup and think about things you could do to gradually improve situation for you
just doing the process of goals helps a lot too, and small steps with your dad, maybe think about why is it he is being difficult, is it because he is concerned about you or is he just mean?
build your skills and learn things and maybe get a part time job and save up money in a secret online bank account you can use to get your own place one day
it might take a while but having small sreps you can do will help take your focus onto the things you can do and dry you results through time
i found that just not snacking between meals helps a lot, but if you excercise and get your movement up every day that will help you a lot to feel a lot better as it flushes out all the cortisol (heavy feeling biochemicals) from stress if we walk fast or run on the spot or do burpees for even a short time every day
i hope life will be really good for you soon
be kind to yourself is key though, and even just doing one small step towards making things closer to how we want them to be and fixing any issues that cause conflict helps a lot too
what is it your dad is being difficult about? I'll try to help you with advice if i can, I've been through a lot of similar things so i hope you will be ok, be kind to yourself is key, you are dealing with a lot and there's lots of people telling us how we should be, but you be you, you are Great i bet

SO WELL MADE. The color grading, the perspectives, the writing itself. Just wow.
Something that has been ringing in my head from another video. “You’re never gonna feel like it.”.. so I kick my own butt and start doing it.
