If you're considering watching this short film, doooo it! It is nothing short of amazing. The storyline kept me on my toes the entire time and I was thoroughly shocked by the ending. The entire scene starting at 13:44 gave me chills! Nkosi you absolutely crushed it. The actors and actresses put on such a great performance as well. I'm so excited to see more from you in the future!
My brotha!! Powerful work! Your characters are true. The drama is raw and real. Your portrayal of the heartbreaking and paradoxical nature of love and loss is palpable and deeply relatable. The hypothetical "what if a mailman turned into a stalker" is a bold and risky one to explore cinematically, and you handled it with poise like a seasoned veteran. Your keen eye and attention to detail is prevalent from the first frame to the last. It's evident that you poured all your guts, heart, mind, and soul into this, and it's a towering accomplishment--especially for your first film. God created you for this journey, and it's incredibly inspiring to imagine all the many vibrantly revolutionary creative journeys ahead! Much love!
Thanks for the review of the film brotha! Means a lot since you know me and the work I put into what I do! Looking forward to many more creative cinematic journeys!
I don't enjoy suspense films, but this was mild enough for me to sit through, yet intriguing enough for avid suspense lovers to enjoy. Great sound design and score, interesting shot composition, great writing, and actors that fit the bill. Note the juxtaposition of the color grade to the mood of the acting and sound, along with connective writing that ties beginning to end. Great job to the whole team!
@@cobymarcum1442 thanks for suggesting this! I didn’t even think about it! I appreciate you looking out for my viewers and my creator statistics. I’ll update the video title and description!
I guess it's a nice first try but I couldn't watch til the end, sorry. So many people just talking with boring shots of their faces, so many cliché dialogues, and I feel like a lot of your scenes are expendable, you don't need your film & characters to explain SO much, a lot of situations I was just like "ok, we get it, they argue over the same things that every couple do", try and find a way to get to the point way quicker. But on a technical level, I mean it works. The image is not particularly attractive, there's no research in the shots & frames you pick, so I don't see the need to buy an Arriflex tbh, you could have shot your film with an iPhone 13 and it would look the same. And your actors, well... it feels like they're on automatic mode, they say the lines but do not bring your characters to real life. But for a first short, it's a good exercise.
Thanks for your thoughts on the film (at least on the portion you were able to sit through). Just for clarification, this film was shot digitally, as stated in the title and description.
@@nkosiroma Yeah but you still bought an Arriflex apparently. From one DP to another, don't shoot with it yet, don't use film stock if you've already bought it, you should learn how to properly shoot with an iPhone first (I'm not being sarcastic here, it's just that camera doesn't matter, especially with one that is hugely expensive to work with, if you don't know how to shoot efficient & interesting frames). Get that sweet C300 again and shoot your next short film with it. Learn everything there is to know from the greatest, keep watching movies, try stuff with basic light kits & try to find your own style
@@OskarRosetti thanks for your advice. It’s truly our job to try and get better and better at our craft. Obviously, the camera is just a tool, and film is just a format. I’ll take your notes into practice, but will definitely not let my skill level prevent me from shooting 16mm.
@@nkosiroma Alright then, I know you won't. When you do, don't waste a second, time is precious with film, don't bother with the entire clap procedure, make A LOT of rehearsals before shooting anything, be prepared with literally everything that could go wrong and anticipate it as much as you can. Cheerio
Oskar, of course you are entitled to your opinion. However, given all the Film Festival nominations and awards, clearly your opinion was not shared by many others who actually watched the entire production.
“He’s not like other kids.” Craziest line!!! Oh damn here we go!!!! Super Intense!!!
