Super lesson. I been playing a couple parts of this song incorrectly but I got it now!!! Thank you for this!!! You got the Supertramp song lessons on point bro!!!
You are very thorough. I'm glad you hit that part that was (that other guitar harmonizing with the main guitar) and the higher harmony you can hear clear as a bell on the record but when you see him playing you see him sliding down (but with my ear I can clearly hear the other guitar playing harmony) and you touched on that at the end, whereas some of the other teachers don't, and it's so frustrating because I know I hear it, so thank you!!!!
You break things down quite interestingly. May I humbly request Ren? Specifically, the intro to Hi Ren? And then any Ren. He is a genius and beyond phenomenal. Thank you. 🎸🪘🐷🦍☮️⏰️
Thanks for that lesson, really meticulously explained. Best tutorial for this classic song I have ever heard. Would you consider doing a tutorial for another classic song - Guitar Man (by Bread). If you could I would be gratefully appreciative. Stephen.
Love the lesson and at the end there are so many overdubs it's crazy , just like All their songs I like to call overproduced beauty almost Phil Spectorish in lavish production 👍
The iconic Guild 12 string, I had a spruce top through the 70s. I can hear the over and undertones come through in the video and it's not just from the octave strings. Nice gitbox, I bet that maple projects rather well.
I needed this inspiration. I’m trying to add uplifting, magically-delicious songs to my acoustic set list and this song has always moved me. Thanks, man!
I know it was a year ago but I was wondering if you ever used this at your gig ?? 😆 I think these would also be nice to play out. *Rain- Beatles *Looking out my back door - CCR Just thr first ones that popped in my head. Anyway let me know how I can contact you and see a show of yours in the future. I used to go out and see bands and musician's play all the time. Im also play in a band myself. I cant wait for all the places to open back up so I can get back out there. Playing live is one of my favorite things to do. I hope your staying safe and continue doing shows. ✌ ✝ ❤
Hi Dave, I think I might have subscribed under a different name and lost you, but I saw you at the Kiss gathering tonight. It reminded me. Glad to be back!
Good one, Dave! I never bothered learning this one, and it's a great song. I'd like to see your way of playing all the main guitar parts to Joe Walsh's Life's Been Good, if the youtube police would allow it, that is...
Hey Dave, think you are awesome. I would like to see you play through the whole song after you give the instruction. This would give people the chance to play along with you! Just a thought brother.
Thanks, anytime I play a part that's close to 20 seconds while I am teaching, they try to copyright me and claim it for them. I always know when i am going to get a claim against.
First finger on the 2nd fret D string. Ring finger on the 3rd fret 2nd string, pinky on the 3rd fret first string. So the five notes being played are A, E, G, D, G.
Great lesson Dave ...love that song ! The Guild 12 string sounds great. I think I remember reading that Fender bought Guild a number of years ago. I have also heard that the original Guild 12 string was one of the best you could buy..just wondering if your was pre or post Fender ? Stay safe ...
It's post Fender. Cordoba owns them now but this is an import. The Fender years imports called the GAD series were great but the USA Fender Guilds were atrocious.
What is the fingering of the chord at 2:13. You say in video you’re calling it an A6 sus4 but the title on screen is A7(13) sus4. I can’t see where your fingers are. Thanks for this lesson!
Beautiful done and a great song. I’ve sung it many times.
Muy buena canción y muy bien explicado. Muchas gracias
This was a true joy to watch and listen to.
Great lesson! Many thanks!
Simply Fantastic!..Thanks
The best lesson on this song !!
Brilliant ! From all the lessons on here and elsewhere this one is by far one the best lesson ever ! Thank you for this jewel !
I think you're the only one on UA-cam who explains the entire outro and makes it sound right. Thanks for the lesson. Plugged a lot of gaps for me!
Me 2 , thanks again
Muy bien suena bellísima y tocas muy bien, gracias por todo saludos musicales
Super lesson. I been playing a couple parts of this song incorrectly but I got it now!!! Thank you for this!!! You got the Supertramp song lessons on point bro!!!
Thank you, Dave. For the complete. precise and honest lesson
Everyone needs a 12-string... it's just that most haven't realised it until now. Beautiful, thanks.
Peter, I will take Paul Lynde to block.
@@DavesGuitarChannel haha most people will be way too young to laugh at that like i just did
Thank s Dave! Great lesson for an awesome Supertramp song! When I'm was my favorite group!
Best explanation yet of all those chords! It’s a brilliant sequence & a great song. THANKYOU! 👍
Amazing lesson. Truly and finally got it!
You are the man. Been playing it differently off the record all these years. Your way is much better.
Glad to help
That was absolutely amazing and spot on. Thank you EVER so much!!
Very good. I like your Version.
You break things down quite interestingly. May I humbly request Ren? Specifically, the intro to Hi Ren? And then any Ren. He is a genius and beyond phenomenal. Thank you. 🎸🪘🐷🦍☮️⏰️

I love the lead guitar. End of goodbye stranger. Influenced tears for fears. Rule the world
Was referred over, liked and subscribed:)
You teach it perfectly. Bravo. Wish you would figure out. Alun Davies and cat guitar on. How can I tell you. No one has 😊
Love the lesson and at the end there are so many overdubs it's crazy , just like All their songs I like to call overproduced beauty almost Phil Spectorish in lavish production 👍

Hi Dave, I think I might have subscribed under a different name and lost you, but I saw you at the Kiss gathering tonight. It reminded me. Glad to be back!
Welcome back!!!
Love this song. But you are playing it Down-Down Down-Down in the intro. Try Up-Down Up-Down. That's how Roger plays it.
Good one, Dave! I never bothered learning this one, and it's a great song. I'd like to see your way of playing all the main guitar parts to Joe Walsh's Life's Been Good, if the youtube police would allow it, that is...
Great lesson, saw crime of the century in 78 or 79,one of the guys in the band had ta leave cause ,his wife went into labor,
Hi! I absolutely love your video! I've been wondering.... Is that Guild a 2512e? Guild 12 strings are the best! Your guitar sounds beautiful.
Yes that's the guitar and thanks

Thanks for the kind words.
Hey Dave can you tell me what strings your left hand is pressing at 7:54 a7sus4? I googled it and it looks different.
First finger on the 2nd fret D string. Ring finger on the 3rd fret 2nd string, pinky on the 3rd fret first string. So the five notes being played are A, E, G, D, G.
My Man
The first stroke is an UP stroke

Dave any chance of a lesson for country from wellers album wild wood ?
I am familiar with it. I will take a second look. I always hated the C chord in that song. LOL
What is the fingering of the chord at 2:13. You say in video you’re calling it an A6 sus4 but the title on screen is A7(13) sus4. I can’t see where your fingers are. Thanks for this lesson!
Sorry its ring finger on the 4th fret 4th string, middle finger on the 3rd fret 2nd string.
Thanks for giving a little bit (a lot actually), Dave !
That Tatoo looks so " is not you" ! jaja
'Ooo yeh!'
you play F sharp -7 but Fm is indicated
Well done anyway Dave👌👌
On a scale of 1 to 10, that was a 19. (At least.)
Too fast
