🏆Name small hatchbacks that are better than Mazda 3!🤔 🔴7 Reasons Why You SHOULD NOT Buy Honda CR-V WATCH HERE 👉 ua-cam.com/video/3TmvTeYFDxU/v-deo.html
0:00 Not sure what to make of this video. I've had five Mazda 3s: one Gen 1 sedan, two Gen 3 hatchbacks, and now two Gen 4 AWD turbo hatchbacks. Is the car perfect? No, but then, no car is. It meets my needs and is still an enjoyable car to own and drive. And, BTW, the complaint about not enough room in the back seat is a tad overblown. I've had two adults riding in the back seat many times and they had no complaints. You get a lot of standard features for less money than what some other car brands charge. And the styling gets lots of attention and compliments. Say what you like about the Mazda 3, at least I don't have to worry about mine spontaneously catching fire, getting stolen and trashed, catastrophic engine failures, toasted transmissions, or ongoing recalls and class action suits. If you haven't driven a Mazda 3, test drive one. You just might enjoy it.
No CVT. A plus. Normally aspirated engine. A plus. What's not to like? It's on my short list of new cars to buy. Forget any car with CVT. Forget any car with a turbo. Forget any car with a CVT and a turbo.
Got to drive one a while back and it won me over the minute I got in the car. Upgrading for a 22 Civic Sport and the Mazda 3 is everything I want in a relatively affordable, somewhat luxury sports car
I just bought a Mazda 3 sedan. None of your negative comments were persuasive. I came from a 2005 Toyota Corolla S. The Mazda 3 is superior in every respect save two: The 2024 Mazda has no CD player, and I have dozens of CDs. Until this year, the Mazda had a 12V adapter; I had to buy one from Amazon. I don't want or need: A turbocharger, all wheel drive, a sun/moon roof, hatchback, upgraded "trim level," or other knick-knacks; I'm a former Caterpillar heavy-equipment mechanic. All I need is a dependable, fuel-efficient car to get me from place to place. Old saying: "If it works as it should, it doesn't have enough features."
I completely disagree with your entire viewpoint. I’ve owned many Mazda’s and my current 2023 Mazda3 HB is an amazing car. You sound like a young man, so I will give you a break for not having any experience with cars of the last 50 years.
Styling, completely subjective. I love the back. Gas and power.. I owned a 2018 6 w/the turbo 2.5 and never noticed much difference between 87 and 93 octane. Accelerated very well during all conditions. The infotainment is all you need, no more no less. I hate touch screen set ups. You shouldn't have to focus much on the infotainment, and the rotary knob allows you to develop muscle memory on selecting options rather than falsely pressing buttons on a harsh road. The rear suspension of the current 3 is fine. Can barely tell it doesn't have multi link. I'll give you the rear seat room, it's a deal breaker for a lot of people. However for my family of 3, it's perfectly acceptable. Rear cargo room is fine. Don't need much more. If you need more, get a midsize sedan. I regret only that I got the sedan and not the hatch (Ido have more space, but looks like I am still a hatchback guy). Except that, I love it, especially the interior, includind the infotaiment, simple and not clutered.
Love my 2021 Mazda 3. Zero issues, has the HP to get up and go, handles great, luxury of a BMW/Mercedes without the price. Quality of fit and finish is outstanding. Top 10 rated for safety and reliability. I highly recommend getting a Mazda and I know 3 co-workers who did and are just as satisfied with them as I am.
I have one of these and they are a lovely car that turns heads. The interior is lovely even on the lower specs and the blind spot isnt really a problem. On the sport tech model you get a some great visual aids for parking. The blind spot C-pillar seems to be a non issue for owners! I have a civic and rarely rely on the ample rear visibility because is has blind spot monitoring, rear traffic warning, and reverse camera. You don't need much else!
I have had a 2023 and now a 2024. Have goten as many compliments as my Miata. I enjoy the fact that I do not see one on every corner. I can fit a bike, camping equipment and drive across the state of FL with perfect comfort. This guy needs to get clue.
Test drove the Mazda 3. With the safety-systems in play, blind spot monitoring was fantastic. See no problem with this car. I don’t require speed but safety. This car has a lot of safety.
I just bought a Mazda 3 2.5 GTX Hatch. Yes, it is not a WOW car but, coming from a VW and a Merc, this car is good value for money. It sticks through corners like my Merc. Doesn't have the wow of the VW 2.0 Turbo or the AMG Merc but I bet ya, it will last me longer than the other brands. I had numerous issues with my gearbox on the Merc. Numerous issues with the VW. NONE OF MY OTHER 2 CARS CAME WITH THE CLASSY INTERIOR AND RELIABILITY. They cost me many dollars in repairs. In NZ, there is thousands of Mazda's, why? They overtook Toyota in reliability and value for money. I do not like to spent my hard earned money on crap. I unfortunately did it when I bought VW and Mercedes.
It’s painfully obvious this guy has never driven a 4th gen Mazda3. Absolute garbage logic. As an owner of a 2022 model, I could offer much more helpful advice: if you hate CVTs, want a well handling, beautiful car, and don’t use the rear seat much, the 3 is an awesome option for the price. Otherwise, a Honda Civic is probably better for you.
Hi, i just turned 18 and about to purchase my first car which is a Mazda 3I sport sedan 2016 Fwd. what are your thoughts on it compared to your 2022 Mazda. thanks :)
I have a 2022 Turbo and here are the actual reasons. -Weight, height, and tires. Its pretty heavy, very low, and has smallish tires. If you live in an area with a lot of potholes or dirt roads go with a CX30 or CX5. If you hit even one decent sized pothole it can put a bubble in the tire. If you can get the tire protection from Mazda it is 100% worth it. -Accesibility and comfort, for long road trips anyone in the cramped rear seat who isnt tiny or a child will be uncomfortable. If you often have 3 or more people in your car again CX30 or CX5. Also if you or your family members are old, or have any kind of limited mobility its not the easiest car to get in and out of. -Paint and repair cost. The paint is beautiful, and because its so beautiful youll notice any chips in it immediately. A paint pen will cover it up and protect the metal from rust, but will still stand out. If you do end up with repairs not covered by insurance getting the body panels looking like new will be expensive. So you better have good insurance.
Mazda is very good at making simple, no-hassle cars that are nice to the regular driver and fun for car enthusiasts. Yes it's really strange that they didn't put the manual in the turbo option and then limited the turbo option to AWD only, but it's not a deal breaker for most people. I'm genuinely considering buying a brand new one off a trade in of my 2017 Honda CR-V. I love Mazda for their designs, simplicity, and reliability. Old infotainment? not a problem for me because new infotainment looks kinda dumb and is overly complicated. slightly outdated suspension? In a weird way I appreciate it since it keeps costs down. This car is quite literally as close to perfect as you can get in a car.
Mazda 3 is a family / enthusiast car, it's not made for luxury, it's made for fun. I bought a 2007 model, my friend bought a much pricier Golf MK5, he had his engine replaced and still having numerous electrical issues. On my Mazda3 I have only replaced an engine mount, an airbag spiral cable and a small plastic gear for the rear window. I bet cargo space isn't a priority when the car doesn't work.
Exactly, Mazda is not made for luxury. They used to be noisy, just like my 1990 Protege (with cushy long suspension travel -- 6.7" front & 8.9" rear) manual tranny with optional power windows that also requires DOHC with “noisy high revving top-gear ratio” on top of the already loud road noise. Now they are quiet, but the torsion beam lacks the cushy ride comfort of Civic/Corolla/Impreza.
I'm close to 2k shy of 200k miles on my 2018 Mazda3 2.5L GT. Yes yes you say get a Hybrid right? But I tell you that 2.5 and suspension is very versatile it can handle the Los Angeles freeways to allies and it has paid all my bills and some.
We’re inundated with these UA-camrs that can only get people to watch if they have controversial nonsense title for their content. If there are reliability, technical, service issues fine etc but this video was just nonsense. There are negatives in all cars including the Mazda 3 but equally there are positives as there are with the Mazda 3. We want an unbiased review as I’m sure there are many very happy Mazda 3 owners in this world who have their opinion on those 8 negatives.
I own a 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I’ve modded it and I work on it myself. I have to say none of your points are persuading me to get rid of it or enough to stop me from recommending the Mazda 3 Hatchback. In fact before buying it, I did a bit of research on the 3 Sedan and Hatchback, and after having it for about a year now, i love it. Simple, efficient, and near luxury. Many of the points you mentioned are nothing close to substantial. Mazda is definitely not a perfect company and their vehicles aren’t perfect either but they are efficient and reliable. (at least from what I have had from them) What you could have mentioned that would have grabbed attention is their driving assist sometimes throwing random “BRAKE” signals or the oil pressure sensor going bad after only 24000 miles. (Although I’m not sure if the oil pressure sensor issue is that common or not)
The rear undercarriage brackets has small pinholes for air or water drainage?. If you drive this in the northern salt it the salt will start to burrow into the metal.
I love my 3 sedan AWD . The great thing is its not like all the other cars , so the rear seat room is a little small its fine for mall trips and besides you'll always have a friend with a bigger SUV to haul people on longer trips , the power is just fine who needs a Hell Cat and trunk space if only 2 maybe 3 are on a road trip is plenty, price i'll agree is kind of high but your getting a great looking car . Americans for some reason hate manuals ......
I have 2011 Mazda 3 and it’s by far the best car I ever had, one of the best cars on the market, I never have had even a small problem with my car, pretty fast beautiful and economic on gas, this guy maybe is working for Honda
Have owned one (G25 Astina) fo almost 5 years now. Looks as good as new, runs like a dream and there are no vehicles on the market a present that i would trade it for. Some very petty complaints presented for a vehicle that should be driven and enjoyed....
My 2009 Mazda 3 with 330.000 km still goes like a rocket. There is two more Mazdas in my family with similar high mileage and with zero defects so far. You just can't brake Mazda. Currently I'm looking for a new vehicle, and guess what I'll buy?
I’ve just got the Mazda 3 premium plus and I absolutely love it ,it’s fast , it handles great (AWD) , has lots of power ,might not have big side windows to see the sides but it’s packed with alarms that let you know what’s going on all around the car , this video is made by Mazda haters
In my market, as well as the home market of Japan, the 2.0L engine is the base. My Japanese import is very highly specced but still only has the 2.0L not the 2.5L
Love this video lol..my version of this is getting ripped apart haha. I LOVE my Mazda 3, but there are certainly some sacrifices, as you say. However, at 3:01, that's a shot of the engine from the 3rd gen 3, not the 4th gen lol. Ask me how I know - I've owned 2 3rd gens and now a 4th gen.
Blub Blub Blub all kinds of great features just not enough for some yuppie whiner! You were right about one thing its an inexpensive viable alternative to a BMW!
This video doesn't make much sense. The behind I think for you is something you don't like. Personally I think it's amazing, best style I've seen on a hatchback in years. The central knob is the best part of this car! You honestly can't tell me touch screens are better while driving. They're not.
I don’t know what color red that is, but Mazda’s got it going on with that red color. Just bought a 2024 Corolla SE in Ruby flare pearl. However, I think that Mazda red is better. wonder if that paint will last as long as Toyota paint. I just don’t know that much about Mazda.
I totally agree. There is something about that red that is unique from other car makes. Especially in certain lighting conditions. It reflects so beautifully. It's like a deep vivid, color that you would normally only see in a OLED TV except in real life. Perhaps they have a patent on it because no other car make has it. 🤔
I think the current-gen Corolla SE, when multi-links was std feature & manual hasn't been discontinued, looks the most cool with steel blue exterior when paired with these color-matching stripy seat-fabric: ua-cam.com/video/UHUwKdU8pyM/v-deo.html Besides, Corolla sedan's excellent rear visibility is wide enough to wrap around the right rear headrest, just like Lucid Air & the latest Avalon. Too bad that, even with Apex uncomfortable sport suspension, the steering is still so numb, on par with the new cushy-riding Jetta.
I can add two more reasons to avoid Mazda 3s: a. SHIT ac blower motors and parts they always blow out eventually, trust me. b. known massive electrical issues. c. very low ride and suspension and it's highly susceptible to damage from potholes and other road hazards. Trust me. I lease a 2023 Mazda 3 sedan.
my mazda dis like is lack of sat radio and sm gas tank but great car handles fantastic and fast sterio sounds great seven speakers i blue tooth my xm pandora made of high quality inside and out
Some of those listed reasons are actualy positive for mamy buyers. For example, multimedia, I find it much better then this new fashion with touchscreens that can only distract me as a driver. I find it only little bit poor in engine options here in Europe. Diesel version 1.8 l with downgraded power only 115 hp or 2.0 l 186 or 2.5 with only 140 hp😮😮?! I dont uderstand this downpowering engines which can deliver much more hp from specific displacement.
Luckily i drive alone in this car. Driving the newest model Humora model 2024 Back seat is smaller. but how cares! There is a big blind spot. But if you use the mirrors and what helps are the warning signs. I have no problwm with it. The screen is usable when yuo drive it if you know how. And if you need the space in the trunk, buy a bigger car, so lot's of your arguments are bullshit. It's a great car and a beautiful car if you like a hach. And a good price for what you get. I'm from Europe and paid 29.000 euros for.it. and i love the new infotainment. Less is more. You dont need all that stuff.
If you want an updated 'infotainment system buy another brand. The 2024 Rolls Royce uses the rotary knob control and does the Bentley. Buy another car brand. The requirement to have the car stationary to use the touchscreen should be mandatory in all vehicles. Touchscreens are clumsy and unpredictable taking the driver attention form the ROAD. 50 year old suspension? How old do you think the 4 stroke engine is? It isn't compulsory to buy a Mazda 3. Plenty of other choices.
50 year old suspension? Yes, 1974 Scirocco's “torsion beam (twist beam rear axle)” semi-independent suspension is still light years more advanced than 1973 Audi Fox's “rear beam axle” non-independent suspension.
I've had four Mazda3 sedans (2005, 2014, 2019, and now a 2024), and the 2024 was the first disappointment. One reason: the sound system is the worst I've ever experienced. I feel tricked into thinking the car had rear speakers because it has grills in the rear doors and a "rear fade" option in the infotainment system. It's actually doesn't even have rear speaker output making it very difficult to upgrade. I have a beautiful car with an embarrassingly bad sound system that I don't enjoy driving because I can't stand to listen to music. I feel like an idiot even when I LOOK at the car for not testing out the sound system, but I just assumed since my other Mazdas were good, this one would be too. My next car won't be another Mazda. :(
LOL, one big reason I don't want to get rid of my “still noisy” 1990 Mazda Protege is the “2DIN premium 1993 Camry stereo” I surgically transplanted into this car! While your newest-gen Mazda3 is the only quiet car through out its history!
This review is pure bullshit. Mazda wins hands down in style, comfort, handling on the road, stability at high speeds, interior trim, cost and long guarantee. The quality is superb. You dont need turbo if you have a 2.5 lit engine with a nice 6 speed auto gear box. Go and drive and you will be surprised with road handling and stability. Throw it around corners on curvy roads and you will be surprised.
A big rear is problematic? Are you talking about a woman or a car? IMO, a turbo and AWD are things to stay away from. I do agree with you on the demise of the manual trans and their entertainment system. Saying that the car is well built and should last a long time
The fact that the very first point of your video is criticizing the rear of a HATCHBACK car tells me everything I need to know about the rest of the video, lmao. Some people need the cargo space.
Yes to the huge blind spots. Also the back seats are pretty much for kids and pets only. So basically this is a 2-seater by design and only a 5-seater in a pinch. Definitely not for 3+ adults on a daily basis or for road trips. However, not much in the hot hatch segment nowadays: GR Corolla and Golf GTI or R are better but more expensive alternatives to the Turbo Mazda while the Impreza RS is a worthy alternative to the Atmos Mazda 3 with far far better visibility and rear space.
3 short-leg & slim passengers can relax in these back seats, as other cars' will not allow the outer passengers to fall asleep because they have to exert some muscle strength in order not to fall onto the center passenger. Of course, today, Mazda3's power steering is less numb than all other FWD-based cars, especially the Corolla, Jetta, and even Golf R!
Frankly speaking the rear seat should be eliminated. Make it a two seater . No one will thank for riding in the back seat of the Mazda 3. It actually coverts it to a two seat Sports wagon. Remember Pickup were two seater. There is nothing uglier than a huge pickup with a cabin. Talk about a land yacht.
1974 Scirocco's “torsion beam (twist beam rear axle)” semi-independent suspension is still light years more advanced than 1973 Audi Fox's “rear beam axle” non-independent suspension.
I know whats goimg on here....this kid is taking psychology 104 and his professor asked him to write a creative peice focused on convincing at least 1 person out of the 7B+ on planet earth that a Mazda 3 is not an awesome, affordable, quality vehicle and may not be right for them. If thats the reason he made this video, I totally understand. If not, he's just crazy😂
dead wrong .... do your research thoroughly ... turbo engines DO NEED premium and it's not a hp issue ... you definitely haven't driven a turbo car before ... lower octane no mean more knocking in turbo engines which hurts them
You can get away with 91 in a pinch when they don't have 93 but I agree with you. Also you don't really save anything by going to 87 anyway since it isn't gonna be tuned for it.
Complete bollox, the Mazda 3 is a perfectly reasonable vehicle with a history of reliability. I have ran mazda cars for over 30 years as well as other makes such as , Ford, Jaguar, Audi, Bmw etc, so i may just have a decent idea of the vehicle.
You are Young man that does not like Mazda for a start and from the entertainment system to the re-expansion they mainly done this to save costs and also for safety the dial once you get to use it it’s actually a lot better you can still keep your eyes on the road while you’re using the dial and don’t forget it’s a hatchback you always find in the rear seat yes there is no room very little because it’s a hatchback and by the way if you put the top-of-the-line Mazda three and a Mercedes-Benz a class what would you buy to me it would be the Mazda three costs already has every thing in it and it’s got all the bells and whistles where the Mercedes to have all that other stuff you have to pay extra for it and also sounds like you just don’t like Mazda and don’t you put your brain in use and do some more research and you would fine Mazda three is a very safe car to drive than any other hatchback
This is a dumb video review. It is hardly polarizing. Gorgeous vehicle. Blind spots aren't an issue. They are equipped with full blind spot monitoring. Great engine. Best car on the market as far as I am concerned. I am on my 3rd Mazda3 hatch. And no crappy CVT

Do you shit money?
Why buy a 2023 one and 1 year later buy the 2024 one? How about driving a car for many years before changing it.
Right, you don't have Mazda3, I m still buying next mazda3
LET'S ALL BUY MAZDAS !!!!
I just did 😂
Mazda is very good at making simple, no-hassle cars that are nice to the regular driver and fun for car enthusiasts.
I had one as a rental a few years back and remember if fondly.
(Although I’m not sure if the oil pressure sensor issue is that common or not)
The car is both bullet proof and fun to drive. It's also affordable, all this makes it a great buy.
got mine in 23' hatch carbon edition, absolutely love it....
Your talking rubbish
Make sure your Mazda 3 has a "J" leading the VIN.
Why?
@@Santana_Z31 J= made in Japan. Which all uk cars are
@@kevinthacker8349all the canadian mazda's as well .
And by the way I do drive a Mazda 3 it’s it’s the best car that I’ve ever bought in my tire life
Love this video lol..my version of this is getting ripped apart haha.
Yo, I love the styling not a problem for me
I don’t know what color red that is, but Mazda’s got it going on with that red color.
I think the current-gen Corolla SE, when multi-links was std feature & manual hasn't been discontinued, looks the most cool with steel blue exterior when paired with these color-matching stripy seat-fabric:
ua-cam.com/video/UHUwKdU8pyM/v-deo.html
Besides, Corolla sedan's excellent rear visibility is wide enough to wrap around the right rear headrest, just like Lucid Air & the latest Avalon. Too bad that, even with Apex uncomfortable sport suspension, the steering is still so numb, on par with the new cushy-riding Jetta.
I have a sedan Verizon and itrms beautiful on aodhan rims peral white
I can add two more reasons to avoid Mazda 3s: a. SHIT ac blower motors and parts they always blow out eventually, trust me. b. known massive electrical issues. c. very low ride
and suspension and it's highly susceptible to damage from potholes and other road hazards. Trust me. I lease a 2023 Mazda 3 sedan.
my mazda dis like is lack of sat radio and sm gas tank but great car handles fantastic and fast sterio sounds great seven speakers i blue tooth my xm pandora made of high quality inside and out
My 2016 Mazda 3 is on its 5th break down only at 91k miles. I’m probably the unluckiest Mazda owner in the world.
The sedan is absolutely beautiful
2.5 191 horse with turbo?
It’s a great video with the volume down. 😂
The Mazda 3 is a great car.
Utter bullshit. It’s an excellent car.
Mazda,s rust as they age.

Much better than every US car!
I am relieved that all the comments are just disagreeing with this video and this guy.
I'm buying one
This review is pure bullshit. Mazda wins hands down in style, comfort, handling on the road, stability at high speeds, interior trim, cost and long guarantee. The quality is superb. You dont need turbo if you have a 2.5 lit engine with a nice 6 speed auto gear box. Go and drive and you will be surprised with road handling and stability. Throw it around corners on curvy roads and you will be surprised.
They are not very durable. They rust
I have a 3 the only thing wrong is the brake pads are DIRTY the damn wheels are always DIRTY.
A big rear is problematic? Are you talking about a woman or a car? IMO, a turbo and AWD are things to stay away from. I do agree with you on the demise of the manual trans and their entertainment system. Saying that the car is well built and should last a long time
This new shape looks elegant.. Reliability is top after lexus.. And materials are the best... Mazda always elegant... Remember is purely made in japan
elegant, except ride comfort when comparing to Civic LX, Corolla & Impreza. Isn't the new Mazda3 imported from Mexico?
Yeah, the price is definitely a major drawback. A freaking Golf with equal trim level will only be 10k above the Mazda 3. 😂
I think my 1997 mx5 should have a new companion
The fact that the very first point of your video is criticizing the rear of a HATCHBACK car tells me everything I need to know about the rest of the video, lmao. Some people need the cargo space.
If you want space in a 4-door, then buy a boat. Mazda sells to the driver & passenger. Kids are in the back.
Just put a down payment on a 2025 AWD turbo GT today, can’t wait 😁😝
This car is one of best car around that price
Too many of these Reasons didn't sound like Negatives.
They need to get rid of the cylinder deactivation.
Frankly speaking the rear seat should be eliminated. Make it a two seater . No one will thank for riding in the back seat of the Mazda 3. It actually coverts
it to a two seat Sports wagon. Remember Pickup were two seater. There is nothing uglier than a huge pickup with a cabin. Talk about a land yacht.
Of course, when comparing to another fun car -- the Z3 hatchback Coupe.
Sounds to me like a few Honda and Toyota executives have been slipping this guy a few wads of cash out behind the nearest dumpster.
Now i want one
You're confusing a live axle with a torsion beam setup.
1974 Scirocco's “torsion beam (twist beam rear axle)” semi-independent suspension is still light years more advanced than 1973 Audi Fox's “rear beam axle” non-independent suspension.
At this point i would buy a mazda over toyota or honda .
I like 👍 it so much
I love mine!
It looks serious eye 👁
None are deal breakers
Complete bollox, the Mazda 3 is a perfectly reasonable vehicle with a history of reliability. I have ran mazda cars for over 30 years as well as other makes such as , Ford, Jaguar, Audi, Bmw etc, so i may just have a decent idea of the vehicle.
U call that expensive??? That car costs $196K in singapore!! U should be thankful it cost below $40k in your country...
Apples and oranges.....
Mazda 3 has been the best car I’ve owned lol. Clearly you’ve never had one
