When Bob says "what's at the X, pirate treasure?" it's a reference to The Goonies, which Sean Astin starred in, in 1985. It has a similar vibe to Stranger Things.

@@NikkieTwix It seems like each season references different '80s movies, or at least different sources are prominent in each season. Season 3 is definitely The Thing. And Season 4 is Nightmare on Elm Street. I always refer to S2, ep 8 as the Jurassic Park episode.

Ted Wheeler is obviously useless, but I wish they fully read Karen in to the whole monster/ alternate universe stuff. She is strong enough to handle it and it would be great to have another mom on the case when the kids start to get into their shenanigans. She is so bored by her housewife life. She would make a great monster hunter.
