Amazing explore of another tragedy, why do we not protect this heritage of ours. You're a young fella Dave, I'm an old fart of 64 but we have our uses. The circular room at the beginning was for storing goods that needed to be kept cool, therefore they used slate shelving, this was long before refrigeration. The frame with the material on is an embroidery frame, the screws at the side were to keep it taught. The helmet with the spike is a German Pickelhaube, worn by German soldiers of the first world war, although this one is very ornate and would have probably been a ceremonial pickelhaube, rather than a trench warfare one. They were very prized trophies for the allied soldiers, but sometimes the Germans would leave them hanging in a dugout and filled with explosive and a booby trap so an unsuspecting Allied souvenir hunter would be killed if he tried to take it. The cellars were amazing and the big wooden frames were to stand large barrels of ale or wine on. You see it's good to have us old farts on your channel, because we may be a bit invisible but we know lots about the past. Love your work and compassion David, keep doing what you're doing.

You’re not an old fart ☺️, rather a very knowledgeable, wise man.
I am grateful for you, and the invaluable knowledge you’ve shared with us.
Because our society/world is changing so rapidly, for the worse, we need you and those of the older generations to keep us grounded in truth as “they” attempt to erase history and/or alter it greatly.
I have the utmost respect for you, and my elders of any age, you’ve been there done, done and seen it.
It truly pains me to see younger generations disrespect our elders, and miss out on the wealth of knowledge passed down.
I want to learn as much as much as possible I can and love to hear stories of times past, and to hear what you, and others, have lived through and experienced.
      God bless🥰

this was my college in 1996 and i stayed here for a year. this place is extremely haunted and a lot of paranormal activity here. many good memories here .our classroom was here and our gymnasium and we had the boys and girls dorms too .we were totally spooked most of the evenings and we had 6 sharing a room. so much history here and until not long ago it was a hotel which went bust .my father laid carpets here for them too .if you listen carefully you can here voices. Great place to explore and the grounds too. keep up with the great videos .this place is On my doorstep and I visit regular. never get bored of the place .

Marilyn Williams Your information was fascinating!!!! It must have been amazing staying here!!! It is beautiful, the ceilings the light fixtures, the furniture. Is all the red carpet original to the place. I don’t like it. To me it’s too much. Do you know when it was built? It would take millions to fix this palace. I hope it isn’t left to rot.

So good to see a beautiful building that hasn’t been vandalised. One thing I noticed there’s no library. A lot of the places have books all over. They must have been removed. Lovely bathrooms. So they must have geysers or a boiler system for hot water. Probably the workers from other towns or cities stay at Mansion while they are cleaning up or renovating rooms. It makes sense it won’t cost them staying at hotels or renting a place. Maybe they renovating for student digs. Or maybe turning some part of the building into living places like big flats or homes. Imagine having all that outside for a beautiful garden to relax in or playing spaces for kids.
Thanks guys for sharing this gorgeous.

Places like this were built essentially as private art galleries. Back in the day when wealthy young men went on world tours, they would buy and ship back home, paintings, sculptures, furniture and archaeological and geological items of interest. Then they would be put on display in the principal rooms of the house, something to show off about to your visitors. The family often lived in just one wing of the property, effectively in an apartment, and the upper rooms were guest rooms.

I don’t think this place is totally abandoned. Looks like they inventoried some items, moving some furniture, clocks, artwork, small decorative items together till renovations complete. One shelf of blue white raised decoration is Wedgwood Blue. The screen like holder made of wood was holding a piece of needlework. Ladies would sit and do needlework with their piece stretched in the frame rather than holding it on their lap. I did see small lights that looked like sensors. Renovations take time and lots of money. They may have done they photo boards for investors. Thank you so much! Enjoyed seeing you all together!

Hi hun!!! How are you? It's been a minute huh, I am re-subscribing on the P page. Hey love, where was new daddy Mark?
This mansion was Over the Top; Stunningly Beautiful, & full of history that I would love to know 'All there is about this place',! Oh to be a multimillionaire, I would not live in such a big space, but would contribute to its restoration if I was super rich!!!
That staircase is called a 'Butterfly Staircase', & it is a wonder to behold indeed.
Dave as you know I loved ❤ the old Bottles & even better if they are colored! Thank-You Dave for sharing this Lovely Mansion, I appreciate you hun!! Yes I could indeed see myself sitting in that area (where the stairs are) by the fire, enjoying a glass of wine with a special someone for perhaps a long weekend. My dream place is a little cabin in the woods, near water, with a roaring fire.
    Much Love
    ~Kimmy G.

What an amazing mansion house. It should be preserved and put to good use. Unbelievable that buildings like this are left this way. An interesting explore.
