- Photoshop CC 2015.5 tutorial showing how to use the Face-Aware Liquify.
One of the fancy new features in Photoshop 2015.5 is called Face-Aware Liquify, and in this Photoshop video tutorial you will see how each of the individual adjustments work-eyes, nose, mouth, and facial structure all can be manipulated easily and independently of one another.
You can even move individual features around if you’d like, and adjustments can be applied with your mouse on the image or by using the sliders overlaid on top of the photo.
You can even use Face-Aware Liquify on videos. Once you’ve made your adjustments, Photoshop will automatically apply the effect you created throughout the full video even if the subject is moving their face around. 05:07

Good tutorial. I had no idea that you could make changes to a face and Photoshop would automatically implement the modifications for the entire video. Cool.

LOL!
Hi! sir
I watch your very fantastic tutorials.can you help me please? i can't use The Face-Aware Liquify.now i am using photoshop cc 2018.
Thanks
Hello, for some reason when I apply that effect on my video, it only distorts one frame so when I play it after I applied the filter, it only shows one second of the effect then plays it normally.
Try creating a smart object out of the video first, and see if that works
Photoshop Training Channel Hi, thanks for replying! I didn't even noticed you converted your video into a smart object! lol No wonder each time I played around with filters they didn't work! lol Thank you so much!!
can you adjust just one eye or only both
On the Photoshop CC 2017 and newer you have separate sliders for each eye. So you definitely can.
Is this only available in CC? Will I find an earlier version of this in CS6?
Only in CC
great!
Thank you!
what version of Photoshop are you using
I wonder if this could help with eye bags? Never seen a good technique for the actual bags as opposed to the tonal difference.
I would have to play with it more to see how it could help with eye bags, but my first instinct is that it may not be great for that.
Does anyone know of a way to "hack " the Face Liquify settings file so that you can exaggerate the effect?
Apply it twice
Photoshop Training Channel well sure. But I want to do it real-time. Was thinking maybe there was some settings file that could be edited to increase the limits
As far as I know, you cannot do that.
Photoshop Training Channel yeah, I was looking for a method to hack the thing :)
👍
Every time I try to open up the Liquify tool an error pops up saying "A liquify error occured: AIF Internal exception" Anyone know how to fix this. I'm on windows 10
How do I get the plugin?
LOL the impact of Snapchat hehehe
Tomorrow i'm finally getting a phone able to run snapchat btw (was a windows phone user)
Ever since i discovered liquify, i have loved to make distortions, some funny but mostly "Perfect inhuman fashion magazine look". i used to crop the photos and and move around bits, then fill the gaps with clone stamp and the like, even paint them and texturizing it LOL it was incredibly cumbersome but liquify is just a breeze (i still took time, acchieving perfection drives me crazy).
I haven't used photoshop in almost a year, so i only discovered this feature today, cuz they announced the "assimetrical?" options, and that is also so amazing cuz i have slight ptosis on one eye. Since i've have really having that art itch in my brain this past week, this is very cool timing, i had really stopped making any type of art, so even more reason to get full on it.
Long comment, sorry.
Much love, bye.
No worries, thanks for the comment.
How to change one side of the face, but not the other? Because the two sides changes together.
wtf !!!! this is insanely unreal... damnnnn. I'm going to buy adobe cc now...
What would happen to the filter if you turned your head? Would the effect be applied to your facial profile? And, is there a way to have the filter effect your face only and not your background?
The filter can't detect the face if your turn your head too much. As for the background you can duplicate the layer and use a mask to hide other distortions.
WOW!
Thank you!
Can you alter just one side of the face with the new sliders - e.g. if you only want to make one eye bigger to match the other, can you use the new sliders or do you have to use the old tools like Forward Warp?
I don't believe you can use it like that. But you can duplicate the original layer, use the faceaware tool and after that use a layer mask, so you only have half of the face affected. :-)
In the new Photoshop CC 2017 there are sliders for each eye.
What is the application name?
Of all the times I used liquify over the last 3 years… I didn’t notice this until yesterday. And it’s old as hell lmao
very useful but i do not find that face detection option in liquify, im using adobe photoshop 2014
It's for 2015.5
How to make selection automatic on only face
I have Adobe Photoshop CC 2015, and for some reason I can not find the face-aware liquify. Is there anything you can suggest I try?
This is for Photoshop CC 2015.5 (2015 point five). Have you updated to it? It was released a week ago today.
why is there no tool to change the ear shape :( and make them smaller
How to automate passport size photo?
While I very much appreciate people offering up these tutorials I am constantly frustrated by the fact that most tutorials don't match the applications on my computer. In this case, I find no reference to the "create a new video" option. I'm able to morph the first frame of my video but the rest of the video reverts back to the original. I just downloaded the new 15.5 version so that isn't the problem. Any suggestions?
Does the face make any sudden movements? Or does the camera shake? That may be a reason. Also, just to be safe convert the video layer to a Smart Object. I hope this helps.
Sir, I don't have face aware liquify in my ps why?
amazing...i have photoshop cc 2015 but i could not do like this..help me pls
You need 2015.5
How to create photos like panting photos
hey i am using windows , and i am unable to find face aware liquify tool in photoshop cc 15.0.0 in windows , what should i do please help! thanks
You need to be on CC 2015.5
My liquefy tool is not working
How come the Photoshop Liquify Tool isnt detecting the face of a headshot!? If part of the head is cropped, would that cause it?
Oooooh, it must be the "Dutch" angle in my image that's causing it to be tilted too much... got it!!
YUP, that's EXACTLY what it was.. thank you so much!!! Glad I kept listening!! haha
Jeremy, I'm glad you figured it out! :)
Photoshop Training Channel Thanks so much!!!!
wait liquify works with smart objects?!!? :O
Yes!!!
why i dont have liquify?
The face aware liquify doesn't track through the whole video. it works for 1 frame. but not the whole video. help!!! did they change the settings with a newer update? did they remove it? please help!!
Nothing was changed. Does the head that you're tracking tilt past 30 degrees? or make sudden movements?
nope. Check my video please! am i doing something wrong?
I saw the video. The only thing I can think of is that it stops tracking because a hand goes between the face and the camera at some point. Also at one point the face is turned to the side. I know it's not much, but maybe Photoshop is having trouble detecting it. Other than that, I'm not sure what it could be.
ok thank you very much. i will try contacting. maybe some one at adobe
Hi CLA, To apply any filter to the entire video, you must first make the video a Smart Object. (Select the Video layer in the Layers panel, then choose Filter -> Convert for Smart Filters). If not, Photoshop thinks you only want to apply frame-by-frame adjustments.
What is the Photoshop version you like the best?
Don't ever by no weed from the gas station, bro
Content aware scale is also funny on faces, have you tried it?
Yes! quite unpredictable, but you get some interesting results!
Photoshop Training Channel
Hey, I just created an image and I would like you to give me some constructive criticism, or just tell me what you think. If that doesn't bother you. Thanks in advance!
i.imgur.com/h0u0wcd.jpg
There's nothing in specific that I would change or criticize. Looks good! Maybe do a series of similar images and then see what works best.
i take it this doesn't work for CS6?
No. Only the CC 2015.5 and newer.
I have PS CC 2015 and i don't see it? How do i get it?
2015.5 needed...!!!!!!!!
So it should be free to update with Creative Cloud, correct?
Yes. If you have CC you should be able to download it now.
I have CC but no update to 2015.5 :-/
Try logging out of the Creative Cloud app, and log back in.
Most of the time it doesn't work. The filter doesn't recognize the face.
Charles van Dijk - Not true
That's not true at all. You're probably using very shit quality pictures
lol. Nice thing
lol, thanks!
when i click filter liquifiy it dosent show me the picture it shows whiite background
my liquify looks nothing like this..
Its' the Liquify for Photoshop CC 2015.5 (2015 point five). Have you updated to it? It was released a week ago today.
I like the old way. I hate the facial recognition.
first
:)
Does not work with animals faces :D
