The only changes that really pissed me off was this, Anakin's ghost and the Cantina, otherwise, they generally did enhance the movie, but PLEASE put this song back in the next release!
I don't care about the Cantina and while I do see why a lot of people would be upset over the Ghost of Anakin Skywalker, I don't exactly dislike the change itself. But yes, this is a really bad change, in my opinion.
The original is a subtle, short sequence with perfectly fitting almost 42nd Street early-80's porno funk music (really goes with the atmosphere)...and then they turn it into some goofy ass Disney cartoon musical number. This is groovy and fits that sleazy vibe, lasted for about 30 seconds and went on...we didn't need an extravagant out of place musical number with badly-rendered CGI characters to sell this. A lot of the changes were fine when they fixed mistakes or cleaned-up effects, but it could've done without entirely CGI scenes or things that detracted from the magic of the originals and the work put into them by the original team.
John Toscano I refuse to buy the Blu-ray version for that reason. I can't wait til Disney gets the DVD rights in 2020 and hopefully there will be a release for the original versions.
Sadly it probably won't happen. 20th Century Fox had indefinite rights to the distribution of A New Hope as part of some clause of the transfer to Disney.
Whoever played for hours on OG Battlefront 2 on Hero Assault This track and Jedi Rock would always end up looping after a while, it’s cemented in my brain
So, what I find hilarious is that in the PS2, Wii, and Switch version of The Force Unleashed, this song plays on the Nar Shadaa level. Nar Shadaa is also a popular criminal hangout/hiding place, so hearing this both there and in Jabba's palace makes me think that Jabba's band gets around quite a bit. Like that Robot Chicken sketch where Max Rebo is trying to get to his next gig.
Wow, I had almost totally forgotten about this version. In the 1997 Special Edition Re-Release it was re changed over to "Jedi Rocks" which was okay I guess. @@Yakkymanialiterally in what way does this sound japanese, have you ever in your life heard japanese?? if i had to compare it to a real life language i'd say it's a mixture somewhere between sanskrit, arabic & thai
@@sadakopilledI'm Thai and this just sound like very isolated accented of English. beside I think Original commentor talk about cover style, not language.
Me after putting a tophat to my spore creature: "Yes, a fancy man is comin'"
For some reason Huttese gives me the same Vibe as the weird spore creature voices ngl
Also to your description, Yeah they do like, Sy snootles looks super different in her cgi design on a few parts! Like how the puppet looks kinda wrinkly and seems to have a weird feather crown or thing on it's head!
I'm just gonna say, I love Sy's glow-up in the Special Edition, but this song is MUCH better, and far more appropriate for the venue.
holy heck; what a banger!
I need to hi-five you for this one! Nice mix!!
+Christopher Ryons I'd love to take the credit, but I didn't mix it, I just found it.
@auditect950
Well, great find, then!
😁
1:23 A riff from the Rick James' song "Give It to Me, Baby."
This song is 🔥
the part starting at 1:22 sounds like Rick James Give it to me Baby
+JP Thompson Glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that.
fully.
Definitely
Totally
god damnit now i cant hear anything else
Don't forget the stupid dinosaur thing that walks in the entire frame at one point. Other than that, I agree.
George Lucas: NOOO, this is not my true vision!
I’m in the mood to fight a rancor.
Changing this to Jedi Rocks is honestly in the top 5, maybe even top 3 dumbest Special Edition changes…
Whoever played for hours on OG Battlefront 2 on Hero Assault
This track and Jedi Rock would always end up looping after a while, it’s cemented in my brain
It also plays in Blackhole Cantina in my comic dub of Star Wars: Darkness.

the bass is so good from 1:08.
Miles Davis vibes along 80s NY jazz scene.
Damn man this jives hard
Still one of the great songs of all time!!!!!
Come on and work it out!!!!!
Ah yes my favorite bjork song
"Feel my body growing! My bones have started glowing! Ooohh aaahhhh! The time has come for showing! That I'll shape you up and work you out!"
I never understood why Lucas replaced this song; I always thought this song was stronger than what they eventually replaced it with
S L A P S
We need a full version of this
this is my jam
Lucas disliked this 33 times. Bring this song back.
This movie is the greatest out of all of them
This song kicks ass!
Is it me, or does this "original version" totally omit the words Lapti Nek? All the other mix versions contains the Lapti Nek words sung in chorus.
The horn line in this song 1:22 is almost exactly the horn line from Rick James - Give it to me Baby
Wow, I had almost totally forgotten about this version. In the 1997 Special Edition Re-Release it was re changed over to "Jedi Rocks" which was okay I guess. As I see and hear this track 'NOW' I prefer THIS better.
But, the bigger picture - At least there is Star Wars movies, films, tv shows and music to enjoy!
May The Force Be With You - Always :-):-)
Wow, I've been searching for this for years.
Listen to that horn solo!
Horn Solo? Isn't that the guy who was frozen in carbonite?
