My main problem with the revision of the dance number it Jabba's palace has nothing to due with the quality of Jedi Rocks itself. It's the fact the new scene completely ignores the purpose of that scene: to display the Twi'lek Oola's distress as Jabba (assumingly) tried to molest her. The new music and bright CGI is just too bright and poppy to properly convey the gritty mood of the scene.
snowwhistle1 I always thought the juxtaposition made the situation worse. Everyone else around her is jusy being cheery whilst something is clearly amiss whether its because noone cares because its just normal behaviour or cant because they dont want to suffer punishment to. Im more inclined to the former given how casually the 'uh oh' is when she falls into the Rancoor pit. Granted Im a 90s child so my first expirience was the special edition so I have nothing to compare it to
No, you simply misunderstood the purpose of that entire sequence. George Lucas explained that originally that part of the movie was intended to be a fun musical number. Oola's death is simply a minor part of it. Due to the limitations of the puppets at the time, the second singer Joh Yowza had to be completely cut out and the scene was significantly shortened. You are certainly allowed to prefer the original, but the special edition represents what that part of the film was always meant to be like. It was essentially the Star Wars version of Willy Scott's musical number from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". Also, Oola actually gets *more* screentime in the special edition, as we actually got to see her meet the Rancor face-to-face, so your complaint that the focus was taken away from her makes no sense.
Level 1 star wars fans know who Jabba the Hutt is and think they are full fans. Level 9 Star Wars fans remember this song. Level 10 Star Wars fans are bobbing their head to this Club Mix SPACE JAMMM! oh yeah.
I like "Jedi Rocks", but I still think Lapti Nek should've been left as it is in the movie. Sy Snootle's in-your-face CGI rendition doesn't help either.

@@auditect950 yeah, he doesn't even like her, he just does it for fun. Cause you know, sexual violence is hillarious. Lmao
Remember when Luke enthusiastically said "I got one!" after getting a kill in SWBF2? That always made me lol. 😂

Omg I’m so happy I found this song after all this time. Memories are flashy by of so much Star Wars hero/villain fun.
any one who says that "Jedi rocks" is better that this should be thrown at the sarlacc in the great pit of carkoon!
I like "Jedi Rocks", but I still think Lapti Nek should've been left as it is in the movie.
Sy Snootle's in-your-face CGI rendition doesn't help either.
Jedi Rocks is better then the 1980's version of this, not THIS version.
No it should be thrown into the Ancient Abyss!!
As long it is the original Sarlacc without the added beak thing
I’d take either song, just not the crap CGI
I love Lapti Nek and Jedi rocks pretty equally... But this slaps

Feel my body growing
My bones have started glowing, ooh
Wow!
The time has come for showing
That I'll shape you up and work you out
My body feels excitin'
My soul is synthesizin'
My whole frame is jumpin'
I'm workin' out and havin' fun
Work it out, you've got to move your soul
Work it out, you've got to feel the heat
Work it out, you've got to move your soul
Wow!
Feel my body growing

My soul is synthesizin'

John Williams brought in a secondary composer who combined an unknown disco track plus a song by U.K. band The Blockheads called ‘WakeUp’
It's okay to like both Lapti Nek and Jedi Rocks. The world will not end. *looks up and sees a green laser in the sky coming from what looks like a small moon*
