These people had the best kind of jobs. When I was a little kid in that era, I wanted to work as a model builder at ILM when I grew up. Unfortunately , CGI came into vouge and destroyed this art and the human touch in special effects that a computer cannot replicate.

Me and my brother growed with all these Fx movies, and without great movies in our country, we make many masks and accesories for halloween houses and many cosplayers, and yes, we love our work creating many armors, monsters, I use 3D render from artwork concept and consider the volume and impact of the mask project.

I wanted to work at ILM as either a matte painter, or optical printer operator. By the time I grew up, everything went digital. Sure there’s WETA, but it isn’t ILM.

I grew up watching the original trilogy on VHS, and they always advertised this documentary. I didn't have FSWtJ, but the thing I remember most about is the muppet at 5:21 when he says"Hello in TV Land!" Thank you uploader, for putting this up. I'm in tears now.

I wonder why they don't simply re-record the opening song from this clip; I know the masters are gone forever (or so they say), but certainly the sheet music still exists somewhere? Definitely one of the best songs in all of Star Wars (at the very least, the best of the Jabba songs).

Really wish I could put it in my playlist... It's known as the Max Rebo Band Song and was part of the ROtJ soundtrack. It plays at Jabba's palace after the thermal detonator scene, and during the sail barge flight scene. Unfortunately the track has never been officially released and is possibly lost at this point. :(
This video here is unfortunately contains the most intact copy of the song available to the public outside of the clips heard in the film.

I wish I could go back in time and visit that creature shop. It'd be a trip. In the movie we just get a couple glimpses of aliens like Amanaman and Loje Nella, and we don't get to see Cane Addiss or Sic-Six at all. But there they are in that shop, big as life and twice as ugly. I'd love to get a selfie with them.

I would love to see puppets make their way back into a Lucasfilm. I admire Lucas for pushing cgi in terms of what it's capable of doing. The cgi insertion of Jabba probably wasn't necessary, but you can see that it was to prove that technology can make our wildest dreams come true. That is to say, our imaginations are the only real limit.

Thanks to all those puppeteers ideas that made those characters in the film possible since, CGI affect technologies are non-existance back in the days. Even a beautiful generated dream world will be empty without all types of living and breathing characters in it. It gives any fictional world a life and all types of adventures... It is clear that any fictional world and characters can come to life using imaginations and creativities. The results is a galaxy far far away...
