The 03-04 Cobra comes with Manley FORGED pistons and rods ( + more ) from the factory. The oem un-opened block can handle 900-1200whp with ease, so the term " stock block " is pretty relevant.... I love my 04' Cobra.
Only the rods are forged manley, the pistons were made by another company which is why they are considered the weakest part of the engine. Thats why most people swap the pistons out when doing a rebuild but keep the manley rods. Still strong none the less.
Many people don't believe in the tiny 4.6 dohc. I have a fully built forged aluminum 98 Cobra teksid block with a single 84mm in a 03 cobra and it still has the factory ecu. Very unique build. Time to turn up the boost once I build the trans and change a few things.
It does to an extent. I'm up here in the rockies and cars that run low 10s forced induction are solid mid 9 second cars at sea level. It's even more pronounced in naturally aspirated cars; they lose a second or more at high altitude.

rkellyonu You're exactly right; to get the same cfm of airflow from a turbocharger or supercharger, you have to spin it faster and run more boost pressure at high altitude, hence a slight performance decrease from decreased efficiency. There's no free lunch from the atmosphere, even with forced induction.

its not a 60k paint job at all, its just hard to get someone good enough to paint it, plus u have to have a mystichrome car to get the paint, they want your vin#

The terminator has a stronger bottom end than any other engine ford ever made. They was doing this years before the coyote even existed and are one of the direct reasons that the coyote does exist. Give respect on the terminators name and recognize. The long block is stock with twins on it. This aint the only stock long block terminator that has been up to 1000+whp on turbo setups.
It won't last long. Fast Mark proved that with his 03 many many many times over. Infact the local dealership had long blocks in stock for just him as he was buying them so often after he went turbo and kept going past 1krwhp
Nice build considering the extra weight due to the drop top and driver. All said 9.22 hell of a run for a convertible even though chicks and boy cunts drive them. What happened to the fox body sleeping at the line on the second run wit the gayvertabile.

The entire engine is stock...it has a twin turbo setup on it but the entire longblock heads to oil pan is all stock. The terminators came with one of the strongest motors ever made do some research man dont lump all mustangs together in the same basket.
You should probably do some googling. Some people have 10,000+ miles at over 900whp on a stock untouched long block. Everything in that motor is rated to 900+hp. A lot of people still use the exact setup in their builds.

+manrightchea cause a 1.44 60' is really slow... numerous cases are out there where these cars make 700whp and have the living daylights beaten out of them and live. also numerous cases where these cars make more than that and hold together completely stock. those cars aren't just "those factory freaks". they are just crazy stout from the factory.Can they blow at stock or near stock levels? yeah of course they can. a bad tune and/or a shitty driver will do the worst kind of damage to ANY car.The biggest issue with these cars is excessive rpm (which isn't really so much a problem actually) or long pulls in an overdrive gear. a lot of guys would pop their stockish engines because they chose to do a 5th gear pull. cylinders 7 and 8 don't have sufficient cooling and there isn't enough piston to wall clearance and as the pistons get super hot with a 5th gear pull, they contact the cylinder wall and havoc begins.
Nice but lose the damn TH400 automatic transmission, Lentech AOD with a warranty would be awesome with an overdrive,The TH400 ain't all that for an 1100 HP car. And I would have compound boosted it, so untouched long block, he could have had an untouched engine period. Still pretty badass. And 3600 lbs with driver, for a Vert Terminator is pretty good. A race built C4 could have handled that no problem, or a race built C6. Now if it had 2000+ hp, then yeah a Chevy auto would maybe you're best bet.
