  • Join me as I set out to the Seine River here in Winnipeg Manitoba. What lies in wait in these waters here at John Bruce Park and Marlene Street Park? Things don't always go according to plan, but you can still learn from that.

Lovely fall colours, thanks for the video. The Seine has several hiking trails along its banks with access to fishing spots. Because the river is shallow at its fall/winter level, the larger predatory fish may have gone back to the Red. Don't give up on the Seine. I have caught bullheads by Happy Land Park, and have seen pike and catfish (and terrapin) further downstream.

Thanks for the info! I will give it a try again in summer, I have even heard that people catch rockbass in summer.

Hello Vernon hey I just thought I’d let you know that the weather is still about 60 and 70° here in Kingman Arizona up at Lake Mead. And I also didn’t know if you would be making another video before Christmas time, so I wanted to wish you and your wife a very happy joyful Christmas. OK good luck with that Canadian fishing.😎

A little early surprise. Lovely autumn/fall colours and no snow yet. I think the fish are no very active there this time of the year. But as you said, there are some movement so there must be fish present. Better luck next time.

I got a really nice spot on the seine all scouted out and ready to go. I went and checked the water levels today and am getting my gear ready tonight. It's a great spot with just about everything. Current, cover, eddies, current breaks, a dam, and easy access. There's even a couple of storm water drainage pipes emptying into the bend in the river. With a little rain in the forecast for tomorrow, this spot will be on fire. There's a few other things about it that make it even more special, but i can't say more about it on here or else people will pin down where it is, obviously. All the big spawning fish are in the rivers right now and with the low water, they will be in easily predictable areas. I hope I'll have enough bait 😅

Sounds like a good spot, but yeah, don't burn the spot.

You can try by Dumoulin Rd. Always catching something in that spot, tight lines!

Try using nightcrawlers. In the red river system that is the bait that has by far produced the best for me, from rock bass to lake sturgeon. I find lures to be more effective the further north you go on the red (Lockport). I have caught pike in the city on mepps spinners though.

Thanks For the info mate. Do you use nightcrawlers ice fishing too?

@@FinallyFishing No, minnows all the way for ice fishing (or maybe sucker or smelts for pike). In the red river system bait has produced far more fish than artificials have.

Seine is better in spring, but still not a great river. You mentioned Sturgeon, I guess it could happen on the Seine, but more likely on the Red.

Ah yes, to be fair, the catches of sturgeon and pike I knew of was where the Seine and the Red meet.
