  • While stopping through Paris, France on our way home from our around-the-world trip, I was looking at some vegetation under the bridge in front of the Eiffel Tower and wondered if there were any fish in the river. A quick online search revealed that not only is there fish, but according to a group called French Touch Fishing, there is a pretty dedicated group of urban fisherman that catch some sizeable pike, zander, perch, catfish, and carp in the river. So of course, I had to head down and try my luck. Turns out, they were right! I was able to catch some fish literally under the Eiffel Tower! Super cool to see the river ecosystem is alive and thriving despite a history of being notoriously polluted.
