Unbelievable how expensive an I4 SUV can get, looks ridiculous too. I only like the steering wheel with those nice looking dials and ofc Mercedes' Burmester sound systems, can't get enough of that.
I’ve always liked the GLA 35/45 but $73k literally almost made me spit out my soda. The BB Pro and the BB GMT Pepsi are definitely my favorite Tudor BB. Thanks for the great drive!
I have an older one. Bought it used and didn't pay the crazy brand-new sticker price. You didn't mention that you can re-program the shortcut buttons, and on the drive mode button, pressing the centre takes you straight to Individual mode. I also like that you can see the engine oil and transmission temperature in the dashboard, so you know when it's safe to really boogie. The headlights at night are amazing. Just give the US the A35 and A45 hatchback, they are so much better. They even got the A35 hatch approved for the Canadian market which makes bringing them over cost basically nothing
@@gullible119Not every car has always on listening. I'm not talking about pressing the Bluetooth button, I'm talking about this car having the mic active because it needs to hear "Hey Mercedes" which means it's listening to all of your convos.
It is quite rare watching the Topher reviewing a Mercedes and this GLA 35 looks like an amazing hatchback with the funky-looking interior from Mercedes. Personally, I would prefer BMW interiors over that of Mercedes as they seem a bit more refined and driver-oriented.
Yea a Tudor is a great metaphor for this car. Like a Rolex/AMG but not really and is built to a price point so people who can’t afford the real thing can feel good about themselves for a bit
Love the watch! Nice small SUV but way overpriced. That price would have been palatable for the 45S version, but for the 35 - No way! The 35 was on my radar, but due to the high price, I opted for another German competitor, for my wife… Still awaiting (ordered 3/4/24) delivery - it’s still at the port in Germany awaiting a ship.
No! No! No! This is a car for a mom from Encino (married to a low end entertainment lawyer who commutes to the west side) an "Only Fans" girl making 250k a year. Lease only. Yeah no. And these don't age well reliability wise. This is a throw away CUV for 72k. The interior creaks and rattles are indicative of Mercedes losing their way a long time ago in the lower end of the luxury segment.
The price is mind numbing, something’s gotta give soon it just can’t be sustainable. The amount of scratchy plastics he touched during that interior overview was wild as well. The piped-in engine noise sounds….weird? Not just that it sounds artificial, it sounds like it’s from an entirely different car? I don’t know how to explain it, it’s so jarring. I’d honestly love to hear someone who buys this justify a) spending this much money on it, and b) bypassing *every other car* at or below this price.
Great video!!!! Just to know .....X3 M40i in Cyprus is 84K euro while the gla35 starting price is 62k. Mine is on the way and cost to me 64.5K and they done and 2K discount . I checked also the X1 M35 and price was starting from 62.5k. I guess Cyprus is quite expensive . I hope I will be happy with this gla35...also Porsche Macan entry level is 89K .
@@freestyla85 It was fun, but not a very good daily. Lot of squeaks and rattles, poor ergonomics, darty steering was unpleasant on the highway, poorly tuned transmission.

Crossovers look like a mom van cut in half no matter how hard they try even an AMG just doesn't look sporty from the outside. The market for these is oversaturated and I'm never buying one I'll put my money towards a real sports car.
Value is relative. The AMG GLA 35 fits perfectly in the cargo hold of my 245 foot Yacht for when I need a snack at 2am in Monaco. And it only cost me about a weeks worth of wages for my crew.
Bad quality, I own an A35 and I regret it. It feels like it is self destructing slowly. Very cheaply made and drives bad. Econoboxes from lets say Chevrolet drive smother with less rattle. My car shakes and vibrates at highway speeds from new.
I guess there are still enough idiots with money willing to pay $73k for a 4-cylinder SUV. For the premium an AMG demands, every model should have a V8.
