Jim Croce and Harry Chapin. What can you say. I remember the sad days when they both left us. They wrote songs that you really want to "listen" to. Songs like "You Don't Mess Around With Jim". Songs where the lyrics truely had meaning like "Time In A Bottle" and "Cats In The Cradle". Both born within weeks of each other. Croce passed in 1973 and Chapin in 1981. The musical world lost two giants. We all did.
I'm so glad y'all enjoyed this album. I almost submitted a different one but now think I made the right choice & so glad the Patreon members liked it enough to vote for it!
@@TheAdventuresofTNTGlad you guys picked up Jim changing the lyrics from "Jim" to "Slim". Some reactors don't pick that up right away but the two of you noticed it right away.
Great reaction Tasha and T Jim was an absolutely phenomenal great song writer and musician. Operator gets me every time. He is one of the greatest storytellers. Keep up the fantastic work guys love what you are doing.
This was the first album I ever purchased, true story later in life I saw this song play out, during some unfortunate jail time I watched the loudest guy in the jail, the type that would beat his chest like Tarzan one day a very quiet small Asian man had heard enough, he walked right up to the guy grabbed him by the waist spun him upside down planted his head into the concrete floor it was over in 2 seconds we had a 3-day lockdown afterwards but it was so worth it to watch
I bought my first Ovation acoustic guitar because Jim Croce and Glen Campbell played them. I hope you get "Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy)" up on TY. Maury Muehleisen was Jim Croce's second guitar player. Maury always added depth and texture to Jim's already incredible guitar parts. Maury Muehleisen was killed in the plane crash that Croce died in. I like to mention him from time to time to keep his memory alive.
I wish someone would make a series of music videos of these Croce songs. Like a Leroy song, a Jim song, a new universe in which they meet... it's going down! Who wins?
Many of Jim's songs are true stories that he heard from working various jobs during his life. When he decided to make music he used these stories as lyrics. So this story is most likely true. Especially Speedball Tucker. Thats another great song by him. Check it out "Speedball tucker."
As you continue in this vein about these bad dudes having it handed to them, please consider Staggerlee by Lloyd Price and Come a little bit closer by Jay and the Americans. Keep on doing what you're doing 😎
Truly enjoy your reactions. Here is a Bee Gees suggestion, featuring a song recorded decades after their 70's hits. It shows that they still had chops as they aged. I am sure that you and your listeners will totally enjoy. Bee Gees - I Surrender (PROMOTIONAL VIDEO)
I'm A Smaller Guy Whom Akways Got Messed Eith By Bigger Bullies Who Assume Just Because They're Big They're Invincable & Cant Be Beaten. I Always Trounced Them to Their Shock. I tell Them Dynamite Comes In Small Packages too
I remember hearing this song first and being amazed at the story, its humor, how smoothly he delivers the lyrics with the music. I think the later Bad, Bad Leroy Brown was the bigger hit, and its a great song, but it is not a match for this one.
The moral of the story: No matter what you do or who you think you are or what you think you can do there's always KARMA. There's always someone better. So just accept yourself for who you are and be accepting of others. Controlling others doesn't bring happiness. Understanding and controlling yourself is all that's necessary.
I love Jim Croces Songs. But Just Think About It Jim Was Cut In Pieces And Shot. Then Jim C Died In A Plane Crash And He Was Probably In Pieces That's Awful Rest In Peace Jim C 😢

Jim Croce was a treasure and he left us some gems.

When you hear that song, some part of your body starts moving. Every time. Love the memories.
he's one of the greats ! "operator " is one of my favorites
Good one.
I'm glad you are delving into Jim Croce. I love him so much. So sad about his untimely passing. I've got that album and I love every song on it.
Always someone bigger, badder
Indeed.
Even the baddest man who's ever lived got old.
Nobody stays on top forever, a tale as old as time.
"Time in a Bottle" was written after his wife told him she was pregnant...it's about becoming a father.
I'm so glad y'all enjoyed this album. I almost submitted a different one but now think I made the right choice & so glad the Patreon members liked it enough to vote for it!
It was sooooooo good!!!!!

Check out Jim Croce's 'Rollerderby Queen'. Very funny and great story telling!😅
Great reaction Tasha and T Jim was an absolutely phenomenal great song writer and musician. Operator gets me every time. He is one of the greatest storytellers. Keep up the fantastic work guys love what you are doing.
Oh Lord I miss those days much simpler time😊😊
Oh hey , it’s about time Jim Croce shows up 😊
Jim Croche was the master of telling a story in Ten lines or less.
Now you understand what kind of music us old long hair grew up listening to and why we believe the way we do.
LOVE CROCE'S STYLE & VOCALS!! THANKS, YOU-GUYS, for the REACTION!!! HUGS from TEXAS!!!
Nice to see your channel going nice and strong, and was checking out your *BAND-MAID* reaction to *Blooming* 😊
Jim Croce was a great story teller, there's a lot of tunes from him to do trhat you'll love
No matter how big and mean you are, there is someone meaner.
Jim was the MAN!!!!!
Great song, love Croce..
Yep, agree about that second chorus: crowd telling Slim to not go there!
Love that song!
Great one! Thanks, guys! ☮️💙😎
Thank y'all!! Love this music!
Lover's Cross - it's beautiful.
They played this a lot on the radio while I was in boot camp.
Always loved this song 😊😊😊
Jim Croce was the king of blue collar worker songs
One of Croce's great stories is the song "Rapid Roy that Stock Car Boy" underated but a Great Great song!!

A sweet kind of song to get stuck in your head.
Five O'clock - when the cat's away 🎵🎶
This is the song that put Jim Croce on the map. This came out the year before Bad Bad Leroy Brown
There will always be a new Rooster.
♥
My brother is a musician and a writer and he has worked and played with him before he passed…😢 gone too soon
Another Jim Croce song you might like is The day I fell in love with a roller derby queen.
Ya don't tug on superman cape, ya don't spit into the wind, ya don't pull the mask off of old lone ranger....advice to live by!!!!!!
Great song. I've always thought it was kind of strange how similar this song and big, bad Leroy brown are
You'll love Attitude Adjustment by Hank Williams Jr. So much fun!!!
Almost everything you're watching he does live as well that's where the recordings came from watch him live 😅
Back in the days I'd go to NYC.
There’s always someone bigger and badder! 😂
one of croce's great "story" songs.
I wish someone would make a series of music videos of these Croce songs. Like a Leroy song, a Jim song, a new universe in which they meet... it's going down! Who wins?

This one and Leroy are essentially about the same thing, never realized
I wonder who would win in a fight of Jim vs. Bad bad Leroy Brown? 🤔
A better question is: Who would win in a fight between Slim/Willie McCoy and “The Jealous Man” [the guy who cut up Leroy Brown]
@ChicagoDB good point! 🤣

I'm hoping you'll react to Rapid Roy That Stock Car Boy.
And "The Steadily Depressin' Low Down Mind Messin' Workin' At The Carwash Blues".
Yup. We did the full album
try "One Less Step of Footsteps" sometime for another (softer) side of Jim Croce
Follow up with ‘Roller Derby Queen’.
You guys should react to Professor Longhair.
Try his "Lover's Cross"...
I've warned a couple about being a big fish in a mud puddle....😊
I'm A Smaller Guy Whom Akways Got Messed Eith By Bigger Bullies Who Assume Just Because They're Big They're Invincable & Cant Be Beaten. I Always Trounced Them to Their Shock. I tell Them Dynamite Comes In Small Packages too
Remember this song and check out THE WINNER by Bobby Bare. It's a hoot!
Try his song Rapid Roy.
React to Speedball Tucker, please
Jim should been bobbing and weaving!!
Time in a Bottle
Operator
I'll tell ya, between Leeroy Brown and ole Big Jim, I'd say Mr Croche was trying to make a point. 😏
Would love for you guys check out Craig Morgan Almost home. Tell me what you think.
I remember hearing this song first and being amazed at the story, its humor, how smoothly he delivers the lyrics with the music. I think the later Bad, Bad Leroy Brown was the bigger hit, and its a great song, but it is not a match for this one.
Jim Croce left us too soon. What a shame.
Such a cool song to talk about the fickleness of the crowd. Jim ------> Slim.

So just accept yourself for who you are and be accepting of others. Controlling others doesn't bring happiness. Understanding and controlling yourself is all that's necessary.
The sad thing is, his career was so short.
A better one is Roller Derby Queen.
