Joe was sooooooo cool!! The reason Ali insulted him so much is that Ali was afraid of Joe and knew when he fought Joe he would be punished by Joe. Watch their first fight from 1971, it was an awesome display of talent. Styles make fights and the 1970s had Ali, Frazier, Norton, Shavers, Chuvalo, Foreman, Lyle, Quarry, etc, Larry Holmes was getting his talent together for the early 1980s. The golden era of heavyweights.
@@StrikeXP I'm sorry, did you actually say that?! Joe Frazier went out of his way to help Ali; he gave him money and went to the boxing commission to convince them to return his license; Joe even went to President Nixon and asked him to intercede on Ali's behalf, which Nixon did!
joe frazier was so sharp and clear talking here. great personality. too bad he got so slurred later in life--longterm affects of boxing. foreman seems to be the only one who survived -completely intact
Even though Big George took shots to his head.. He never took blows like Smokin Joe did.. Even ali admitted that.. He took a Trendemous amount of beating.. That's what added up to his slurred speech..
My all time favorite . Met him when he was performing with his group the Knock Outs. What a sweet guy he was. Pure class. I always felt he won the 2nd fight with Ali, and in the Thrilla In Manilla (the greatest fight ever) all he had to do was stand up at the start of the 15 th round , Ali said if he did that he would've quit . Joe was too exhausted , so was Ali. The temp in the ring was about 120 degrees. Those 8oz gloves were 20 oz by the end of the fight. 2 true warriors of the ring. Boxers today are wimps, they cry about 12 rounds. There will never be another Frazier- Ali !!!!!
@mootle661 hahaha! Good point! And Ali never had to go to work in his whole life, so that's probably why he never had to be as humble as Smokin' Joe. I love 'em both, though!
If Frazier had a glass jaw he wouldn't of lasted even 2 years in boxing. Funny the Hollywood guys talking shit and they wouldn't last 10 seconds in a ring with him. Frazier retired and tried out for the rocky movie and Stallone stopped that right away lol.
It wouldn'tve made much sense for Joe to have played the Mr. T character in Rocky 3 anyway, because Joe is actually IN Rocky 1 as himself! It would've messed with the continuity.
In just 40 days Frazier`s arch rival Muhammad Ali would lose in another stunning upset against a relative unknown fighter name Ken Norton who was Frazier`s sparring partner !!
@2242bzo Yeah, true legends. people always talk about fantasy fights with the legends like Frazier and Ali vs older and newer guys. Why bother? The most exciting fight you could possibly get out of either of them is against each other!
A lot of people back then, including he himself, thought that Bill Cosby was clever and funny. The fact is he was relentlessly annoying and egotistical.
What would Bill know about ‘throwing hands,’ to quote Rocky Balboa? Are you really grilling Joe Frazier for a laugh? I don’t think he was ever as funny as he thought he was. Joe was extremely gracious; he should have given him a demo.
@2242bzo I think fraziers humble attitude worked against him because he was almost too respectful and may have been used to his lower class upbringing. But don't worry, karma made up for it. Ever seen the Cosby mysteries? What goes around comes around. He takes the piss outta frazier, ends up in the worst tv show of all time!
"What I'm doin' down here." The champ had a sense of humor!

Agreed Joe Frazier was truly a blessed man. Rest to that champ

Ali was so relentless on his attacks on joe because joe Frazier was one of the first names to agree to send ali to jail

@Waylon Emiliano You are welcome :D
Cosby:” You see the dude coming....” 🤣
Cosby knocked out defenceless women, Frazier knocked out grown ass heavyweights, worlds apart.
Lame.
Frazier looks really healthy here.
One of the greatest fighters ever!!!!!

Sadly Joe did not get the part in the Rocky movie because he could not read the script. Joe was illiterate and could not read. Mr T got the part.

Jack Bennie laughing his ass off Joe Frazier talking about getting hit by George
he certainly isn't laughing at frazier. he just knew a funny line being well delivered when he heard it. i love frazier.
@mootle661 True! I agree.
I love Joe
joe looks like barry sandre

The great Cosby
@reverendjordan he said puncture

Love Joe Frazier.
Joe Frazier was beautiful.
@blahmeblahblahblah Really a good sport in the trad sense of the word - didn't mind poking fun at himself.
Cosby strategy put pills in boxers water cup, and beat them to death

Bill "The Pill" Cosby. Only one loss in his career.
