- Hi there, Doug Stuman with IT Creations. Today we have another Gigabyte GPU Server, this time a dual-socket version. The Gigabyte G292-Z45 GPU. It’s compatible with AMD’s 3rd generation AMD EPYC Milan processors and AMD 3D vCache processors too. It’s a little different than the G291-Z20 and the G292-Z22 we reviewed a while back, both of which support only a single AMD processor. However, they do all use the same form factor. With two AMD EPYC gen 3 processors this system can support up to 128 physical cores with top-of-the-line processors and up to 4TB of memory. At only 2U it also supports an impressive 8x double-wide GPUs for use with AI, AI Training and Inference plus high-performance computing applications. 8x drive bays along the front of the chassis provide… Watch the video!

Hi, does the air come from the sides is cool enough and cfm is high enough to be able to cool down two 350W GPUs (on each side) for an AI sustainable workload?
Can i Use this for 2 NVIDIA 3080 TI + 4 AMD 6700XT ? It is faster than NVlink ?
Hi there Jonatan,
Gaming cards like the ones you mention are typically larger, have active cooling, and are not listed as the supported offerings for this system. The active cooling part is kind of a big factor as Gigabyte has created some specific cooling channels for the GPUs. No on the NVlink. This system uses the PCIe bus, granted at PCIe 4.0 bandwidth, but still not as fast as NVIDIA's NVlink which is designed specifically for GPU to GPU communications and offers crazy fast speeds (900GB/s for GPU to GPU communications!)! why don't they produce servers for 8*rtx a5000-6000. Do server manufacturers know about the existence and size of these cards?

As a matter of fact they do have servers that support the A6000. i just posted this video last week, which is another Gigabyte server, the G481-HAO. Not real new but not too old either and it will support up to 10x GPUs! A6000 GPUs, check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/c02Bm6bH4kQ/v-deo.html. I have been informed (by Gigabyte) that the Gigabyte G482-Z5x and G492-Z5x chassis configurations can support the A6000 and A8000 GPUs and do support the AMD EPYC series processors. Hope that helps in the quest. if you're looking for one, IT Creations can make it happen. We may not have a page setup for them yet but we can get those platforms. Just sayin'… Thanks for watching!
