you should hear the stuff he did in High School. I grew up in the same town as him and saw him live a lot. Still got his old stuff on my hard drives. Incredible then and incredible now.
@@mcnater wooow man. From a perspective of such person as me, who lives on the other side of the planet from Eau Claire being an absolute fan of many musicians of yours, that sounds very special. Reckon you miss Eau Claires festival, huh)
From what I’ve read, the original song was performed by Bonnie Raitt with the same title. She had it published (1991) in her “Luck of the Draw” abum. At the end “the spin” is named “Love In the Nick of Time”
You should check out Gregory Alan Isokov. His album with the Colorado Symphony is a masterpiece. The first track “liars” is so powerful. The stable song is another popular one by him.
Play his self titled album. Turn the lights down, throw on some headphones and turn em up loud and vibe. It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. His new music got a little weird for me but the self titled album cannot be matched.

Great to see this cover reacted to, loved it! It's not often I like covers of this iconic Bonnie Raitt track, but Bon Iver's and Tank's versions are the exception to the rule. Great reaction!
Good authentic reaction man. I don't care if people like or dislike the song, as long as it's real. If you want to react to more Bon Iver, I'd recommend Naeem, 29 Stafford apts, Holocene, Beth/rest(rare book room), 8 circle. 22 a million in my honest opinion is one of the best albums ever released, but that takes a few listens at the very least to even begin to appreciate. Once you do though, it's very a deep and spiritual experience.👍
Just found your channel, loving it. This is Justin Vernon at the piano. Bon Iver is the name of his band. It's pronounced bonn ee vair. I think it means something like have a good winter in Canadian, haha. Someone can correct me.
Polo! Man, you HAVE to listen to A Song for a Lover of Long Ago by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver before he became bon iver). It's so beautiful and heart breaking. And since you're a secret lover of folk, it'll be right up your alley, I'm sure you'll love it
I’m sorry if this posts twice. But Bonnie Raitt wrote these songs. Nick of time was off her tenth album that won multiple Grammy awards including album of the year. She’s still touring at 72 and is a living legend. She’s on both of Rolling Stone’s lists of top 100 vocalists and guitarists. The original will always be my favorite. This singer from Bon Iver is named Justin Vernon. He has an insane vocal range and his lower register is just as beautiful if not more!
My biggest pet peeve in all these reaction videos are people who stop and start the song mid way through so they can make a comment. It’s like you’re cutting the legs out from under the art. It’s way more impactful to hear it all the way through so you can digest it whole and then make your thoughts known.
Justin Vernon is one of my frustrating singer loves, because I'm really not fond of his falsetto (which is absolute blasphemy to many, I know, I apologize), but his chest voice? Oh dear god, it's amazing. You can hear it on Big Red Machine's Reese, New Auburn (feat. Anaïs Mitchell), Birch (feat. Taylor Swift), and Renegade (feat. Taylor Swift), as well as his collaborations with Swift on folklore (exile) and evermore (evermore, where he uses chest and falsetto and something kind of in-between). I'm sure true fans can give you more examples of when he uses his chest voice; I find his falsetto grating enough that I never really followed Bon Iver, and ony recently discovered Big Red Machine.
Polo, these songs were originally recorded by Bonnie Raitt back in the day. Here is Nick of Time. Hope you’ll give us your reaction. ua-cam.com/video/CR4LYkYX1yw/v-deo.html

Thanks so much for posting this bro! Knew you’d love it, he’s my favorite artist of all time.
Thanks for the support my friend

Mine too man. 22 a million literally reshaped what I considered possible with music.

@@pLaIrVaIdNoGx that is very precise description of part of what I feel towards Justin’s and Bon Iver’s music

Holocene is my favorite song by them. Justin is the lead singer/writer and he is amazing. Keep killing it with the great content!!
Holocene is a amazing song
Holocene is one of if not THE most beautiful songs of all time.
I’m late to your post but it’s also my favorite! ❤ you have great taste my friend (:
For Emma for Ever ago…… such a fantastic album ❤
Listen to re:stacks. Man. Maybe saved my life.
So happy to be seeing him tonight at his concert in Zürich !
You should check out Gregory Alan Isokov. His album with the Colorado Symphony is a masterpiece. The first track “liars” is so powerful. The stable song is another popular one by him.
The first time I heard "The Stable Song" my brain broke. Fit my life way too well
Play his self titled album. Turn the lights down, throw on some headphones and turn em up loud and vibe. It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. His new music got a little weird for me but the self titled album cannot be matched.
I prefer his new music tbh. I’d still say give it a chance because everyone has different taste
For Emma, Forever Ago is an amazing album as well. I’m a fan of the whole catalog but the first two albums are my favorites.
you should hear the stuff he did in High School. I grew up in the same town as him and saw him live a lot. Still got his old stuff on my hard drives. Incredible then and incredible now.
His new stuff takes a few listens. It's deep shit and needs unpacked over time. 22 a million is probably the best album ever released in my opinion.
@@mcnater please upload somewhere, or comment yr soulseek lol.

Former Cincinnati Bengal Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin wrote this wonderful tune.
Bro you haven't made new videos on Bon Iver songs!
listen to the "Bon Iver at AIR Studios" session. he does another version of this with his bandmate, Sean Carey, on 2 grand pianos, and it's incredible
Hey Tynie, I see you everywhere Bon 😄

Close! The phrase is "bon hive," which yep, means good winter.
One of my favourite songs of all time, George Michael is incredible singing this song also
Such a good song, Skinny Live by him is really popular but also a good song. You should definitely check it out!
"Now I have two versions" -- perfect.
Best version hands down
Bear with me since I’m OCD about pronunciation - The pronunciation for this name is “bone ee-vair”
Great band and I’m glad you checked them out!

Bonnie Raitt didn't write the track. Mike Reid and Allen Shamblen wrote the song. But she did made it famous
You’d love the Bonnie Raitt version as well.
If you dig Bon Iver. Check him out with Volcano Choir. React to Comrade. Or GOD 31?
This is so damn good

Bonnie Raitt wrote it. Listen to the album.
Mike Reid and Allan Shamblin are the song writers. She did make it famous with her wonderful singing though.
awww...justin vernon (bon iver) has written for jay z, kayne west, taylor swift, the national, and many more.thanks
Listen to Bonnie Rait who originated the song

Hey man can you give true love waits live in Oslo by Radiohead
George Michael’s version is also beautiful
The AIR Studios version is even better than this!
Teddy swims definitely has the best version of this imo.
This is another song done best by "TEDDY SWIMS ".
