As i've said before, i wasn't really a fan of the mk4 Golf, but they are growing on me, and i enjoy watching your videos. I saw a mk4 Golf today for the first time in ages. Parked next to it at a supermarket. They look really small now, and i only drive a Focus. Which isn't exactly a big car, but it made the Golf look small. Looking forward to the next video and hopefully more Fiesta content. No pressure, though, busy lives and all that.
Hey Gary! I hope you are doing well mate. These are pretty cool cars and you see less and less GTIs now. They are looking quite small also mate I make you right. I do have plans for quite a lot of work on the cars this summer, but unfortunately with work, studying and other bits I've been really slow. Fiesta content will be the main focus on the channel soon once I sort my garage out as it needs refurbishment!! Really glad to see a familiar name pop up though mate. Thanks again 👌🏾

Sounds brilliant mate, it will be nice to sort out a nice area to work on something. Garage/workshop would be ideal I think. It's funny you should say that mate but if I ever get rid of the BM and the VW I will probably try and get myself an EVO. The problem is that nothing desirable is cheap 🤣. When will you be looking to buy something?

Nice one, important maintenance done! I spent most of the day swapping over the front wings on the Leon, they were rotting away at the bottom. VW really failed with that design. All the water/dirt/crap piles up there and over the years it will rust away. This is a reminder for you to clear out those areas on your Golf! 🤪
It's crazy how over the years rust has killed so many cars. I'm glad you are keeping up with the maintenance on the car and you must be happy to have the wings swapped out. I will take the inner arches off and clean it, maybe even make a video. Thanks for your support as usual 🙏🏾
@@SPOOLINUP Sure thing man, always quality content 😄 Would recommend adding some kind of extra layer of some heavy duty paint or some kind of sealant or something to further protect the wings if possible. Rust is indeed a horrible killer!
@Djiel Rust is what killed the XR2, the bodywork I got someone to do was so bad it started to rust again almost immediately. I also got some some paintwork done to my E46 and there is a little bit of rust where there never was before and it has to go back 🙃
@@SPOOLINUP Im enjoying it a lot ;) the 1.8t is such a nice engine to have with loads of tuning options. recently fitted the N75J on mine since i had the classic "irregular boost" issue. fixed the problem and also gave me so much boost so fast (i have stage 2 chipped too, so it goes up to 20psi xD) love from your dutch north-sea-neighbours :)
@goedelesaar I loved when I first drove mine, I'd never had a turbocharged car and I really enjoyed experiencing that. I believe these engines are pretty reliable and robust if tuned correctly. What car do you have with the 1.8t? Greetings to Netherlands from the UK 🇬🇧
@@SPOOLINUP haha yeah this is my first car, and only drove my mums car (88HP peugeot partner) before this, it was a crazy difference lol and yeah the engine must be crazy reliable, it already has 320000km (about 200k miles) and still running fine :) In specific i have the vw golf mk4 1.8t 150HP AUM (5 door) from 2001. also pretty sure i literally have the same color as yours lol. its like a very dark blue, almost like midnight blue, but a bit more color. its so pretty
@goedelesaar Peugeot Partner is a van isn't it? Or like a converted van people carrier? I think people have high mileage 1.8t for sure like you say, there are loads out there. Yes man the colour is lovely, I believe it is LB5N - Indigo Blue. I don't think there is a better colour, ive always loved dark blue 💙

Yo bro! Thank you man I appreciate the comment and the support from you. I don't have any videos on the lambda sensors unfortunately. I have changed sensor two after the catalytic converter before and you need to jack the car up and get underneath to do it.
Hi Naz, your videos are so informative, I have an MK4 GTX 1.8T 1997-2005, it gives me problems man, I changed the fan modules, reservoir tank, water pump and thermostat but my engine still takes water back to the reserve tank. What do you suggest I do? Fans don't run except when connected directly to the battery.
Hey mate, from what I've seen on this VAG 1.8t platform, the mileage on your car is pretty much average. I wouldn't be worried at all. Just make sure it's mechanically healthy and go for it! I bought my car on 73k and now it's on 90k. I think someone shouted me on here the other day with a modded 1.8t on over 200k miles. You can have a car on 125k that's been looked after and is better than a car on 50k that hasn't but I'm sure you are aware of that already. I encourage you to go for it 👊🏾 and if you are close to or in London then speak to Chris at Tuning Technics 👍🏽

You can slowly collect some bits. Get a spanner set, socket and ratchet set and some screwdrivers and then that will be the beginning of your collection.

I did mine end of 2021 and it was £165 from VW for the same parts. Fun job and stopped the squeak. Always give you a like mate. Hope you’re well mate.

Hey man, thanks for your comment. Have you inspected everything else in the circuit? Looked at the fuses etc?

My gti 1.8t has 180k and still drives and pulls like new. As long as it's been well maintained these Audi engines keep going 👌
