That guy's argument instantly fell flat when he tried to say that Sparking Zero had to be a balanced competative fighter. The only thing that needs to be balanced is the power scaling for the figthers. I don't need to see Guldo standing any kind of chance against Gogeta.
Realistically you should be able to beat anyone with anyone. A game like this is a lot less fun if a good chunk of the roster gets obsoleted unless you are much better than the opponent
Yeah, he had no idea what he was on about. Any character can win but the uphill battle of some characters is what makes it fun and makes dunking on your friends especially satisfying. At the highest level, you're probably never gonna see a Guldo beat a Gogeta and that's fine. It doesn't need to be like FighterZ.
I remember that characters in BT3 had individual skill trees, and could be levelled up and equipped with ability spheres to make them more powerful. We used to use local rules for characters so that everyone could compete equally. Did I have to use an upgraded Future Gohan to stand a chance against SS4 Gogeta? No, I could play the game just fine. But it sure helped even the odds.
it depends on how the game is markedet really, if its being markedet as a competitive fighting game - there need to be a certain semblance of balance.. but this is dragon ball...
Dude just thinks we need an entirely different game, when in reality if we had the dragon balls to make a new game it was always gonna be tenkaichi 4 like most DB fans wanted
Most of his review wasn't even really about the game itself. If he wanted something that plays entirely different and more focused on friendship, he has DBZ Kakarot.
@@GeteMachineaccording to him his perfect game is Dragonball fighter Z2 but with a deeply emotional plotline set in the original Dragonball timeline and with a baseball minigame
The thing about competitive games is that people are casuals until they’re not. If a person likes a game enough they will become a high level player if they want to.
@@RealMikeHollow An easy way to look at it is when it doesn't sound like speaking from experience, but speaking what he heard about. Plenty of buzzwords and 'how do you do, fellow kids' lingo with fighting games terms with no substantiation or insight. Game Informer magazine was chock full of this kind of writing. And the parts of it where he gets detailed just so happened to be when he's talking about his ideals for a game. That's what he wanted to write about, everything else was an ai prompt sounding preamble. And the games that most closely resemble what he's talking about (Xenoverse and Kakarot), he absolutely didn't play anyway.
23:26 " i want some crazy characters" proceed to list picks worse than Frieza soldier as a slot. Farmer with a shotgun is the only one acceptable from his list
He lost me by including "Tacos shirt Krillin" as if he would play differently from Krillin in his default fit, and why even choose that picture for Bulma?
Clearly, this reviewer doesn’t know Budpkai and Budpkai Tenkaichi are two different franchisees and the reason why Budokai Tenkaivhi had that name instead of the sparking title is to piggyback off the popularity in the west with Budokaki.
@@RealMikeHollow now the thing that I don’t understand, is people assuming this expansion was coming with the ultimate edition maybe a lot of these people aren’t Mortal Kombat players but I never assume the story expansion is part of the ultimate edition when the game first comes out. I just happen to see the price of the new stage when I was downloading Heihachi but at first, I didn’t think nothing of it. I thought it was going to be like a injusticew situation where they give you the option to buy DLC that you can get in the story if you don’t feel like playing the story. Once I saw that you still don’t get the stage once you complete the story I was like wow that’s crazy. But I’m not Trippin. I’ll end up buying the stage once I consistently start playing Tekken I haven’t touched that game at Moss and I’ll probably still won’t when sparking zero comes out.
What I don’t understand is dbfz has been out since 2018 and has been current till now why would we want another fighters rather than something else it seem these people just wanted to have a yap session for click and views it’s a joke 😂
He says there’s no archetypes but there’s five I believe : strength, speed, ki blast, giants , and androids. Some characters can equip scouters which increases search radius. There’s characters that can’t fly so they’re specialty ground characters. I could keep going but you get the point lol
Oh goodness- I’ve only seen clips from this video and it made my head hurt. Can’t wait to see your opinion on this, this is definitely the DEFINITION of shambolic
@@JagorM I own BT3 and can’t wait to reprise my two mains as well as pick up some new ones. I’m not good at the game but I have SO much fun no matter what.😎
The worst part of this guy's review is he's reviewing the game based on what he wanted it to be VS what it actually is. There is so much "What if they did this??" "Why couldn't they do this??" "Wouldn't this be cool??" It's like... wtf dude you're not reviewing the game, you're wishcasting. Wishing for stuff isn't a review. Stick to the core principles of a review: Presentation, Gameplay. Tada.
Burst Limit was what motivated them to make Infinite World which is functionally budokai with some burst limit elements added for ps2. It’s a 3D fighter. Not 8 way run because you don’t exactly walk as opposed to dodging. JoJo ASB is a 2D fighter. There’s a dodging mechanic in it that could make it look 3D but it ALWAYS aligns and you use it in response to attacks like substitution in storm games
31:27 Bro is just yapping at this point, like does he even know what a "fighting" game is. He should just rewatch the anime if he wants character interaction that much
Maybe part of the problem is from watching the anime if he's gonna complain about ki charging as if the opponent will just let you charge up for big attacks like they do in anime
This dude not only called Budokai 1 an arena fighter, but also said that it's a 'boiler plate arena fighter' as if the genre existed in 2002, talking about a sequel to the game that set forth the template that arena fighters use to this day, meaning DBZ games innovated so much it spawned a whole genre, not to mention him using the buzzterm 'boiler plate' when he wants to use the term bog standard. This dude is a ignoramus in the strictest of definitions.
Yeah. BT was literally the debut of that genre, at least for DB games and even now we only have BT, RB and XV as that genre. So his claim that they are run-of-the-mill is... pretty ridiculous, when 2 IPs were made by the same studio and XV was made by Dimps because BandaiNamco wanted more arena fighters (even though Dimps fans wanted a Budokai 4). Then we got Ultimate Tenkaichi and nobody liked its gameplay. Sparking Zero was more of a surprise than an expectation. His claim of what arena fighters are, is literally just whatever DB games came out in the 2000s. Including DBZ Sagas and Burst Limit apparently. I already knew the video was off to a bad start. Biased and inaccurate.
9:23 It's at this moment that many realize that he just wants fighterz 2, which by itself isn't bad, but saying that SZ is bad because it's not fighterz 2 is extremely disingenuous...
Or imagine getting another competitive game but one with burst limit combat system. Or with underrated ps2 game combat system called super dragon Ball z.
I really dislike when reviewers view the game from their perspective of what "they" want than understanding it from the perspective of the actual audience the game is really for.
I’m crying, buddy said something about sitting still while charging Ki! Been awhile since I watched some DBZ but not a single character charges ki while moving! Please please correct me if I’m mistaken!
Complaining that a tenkaichi game plays like a tenkaichi game and not like fighterz is crazy. Funniest part for me was him saying the game has no balance and like 5 minutes later he says the developers didn’t want it to be balanced to keep it more accurate with the lore
@@winstongarcia3931 that’s a respectable opinion. Not everyone likes the same thing, but what gameology is saying is just straight up wrong and headache inducing
@@raikonzero yeah it's weird that they went to blows. They both serve different purposes and they can both be appreciated for what they're doing. More Dragonball is a good thing.
If only more people were like this guy, then we wouldn't have had so much hostility between the Sparking and Xenoverse communities instead of just enjoying both games and coexisting as DB fans.
Wait is that review chat gpt scripted? And the only reason I’m saying that is because the points the review is making, are all valid points for different games. Like, his reasoning is stuff I’ve heard for other fighting games. It sounds like he is putting pieces of negative reasons for why other fighting might be bad into this review…..but in this case, this is what we want. We’re literally looking for “Budokai Tenkaichi 4”. 🤨 Dang..but no shade to the reviewer if it isn’t Chat GPT 😬
Calling dragon ball SAGAS as an arena fighter had me making the same facial expression you was making mike, lmao every bad take you and me were making that " wtf i bro talkin bout?" Face.
Fighting underwater doesn’t slow you down… What??? Since when did this become a “wanted” feature? During the Broly movie, they were fighting in intense speeds in lava…
He says the game is slow (based on the first demo footage) ignores the game being much faster now, and then says the water doesn't slow you down (which would slog the gameplay if anyone decided to just stay down there because there is no breath meter.)
That Review hopefully blows up in their face, like wow.. I mean I funnily prefer Budokai over Budokai Tenkaichi but that guy *doesn't even know the difference!* and also wanting a pre Z Dragon Ball Game? fine! play Dragonball Advanced Adventure for the GBA! but wow.. though I consider Dragonball more an Adventure Series than Comedy, I mean Goku as a Kid one-manning an entire Army and getting struck a hole through his chest at the end of the series isn't comedic, if you ask me^^ Another thing I hate about DBFZ is that Mr.Satan isn't in the Game which is a huge disservice since while true a Joke Character.. Mr Satan saved the World in DBZ *twice* so I'm beyond happy seeing Mr.Satan in Sparking Zero!
5:49 when I saw the db games he listed as arena fighters I bust out laughing theres no way he thinks DBZ SAGAS is an arena fighter omg 🤣 an why the fuck is legends on there
Never been the biggest dragon ball fan but I still really liked the budokai games. I would just cheese my boys by equipping sensu bean and friezas spaceship so I would get 3 lifes.
Im so so so glad you covered this. Listening to 13-15 minuets from a "Dragonball Fan" when I was working nearly had me yelling in the cooler. I was hoping a TRUELY educated DBZ fan would rip his "review" apart. You and some others answered this spiritual summons. Got into a discord call with my friend and we were going off about this guy. I already lost neurons 1 minuet in when he had XV 1 and 2, Burst and Raging as examples of how similar they are. It was VERY rough listening to the rest. Man has no idea what the hell he was or about yet had the balls to he confident eith spewing lies.😂
Slight Daboras advocate; I agree with his thought about XV2 CaC customization. When I turn Super Saiyan....I want my hair to change in looks. XD My biggest cosmetic gripe bout that game. Everything else is like.....He REALLY thought he was cooking here. His comparisons to legit fighting games has me baffled. Where does street fighter and tekken come in here? Why in the hell did he bring in armor core? Complaining about the story that doesn't need change is madness to me. "Wanna watch Krillin get blown up for the millionth time?" You mean the very explosion that gave us one of the most iconic scenes and fights after? How can a dragon ball fan EVER get annoyed watching that again knowing full well what follows?
I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy didn’t play any of these games. Especially fighterZ. That guy called the game “balanced” lol ok… And he said it was at “THE evo tournament”. Dude sounds like someone’s mom that refers to all game consoles as “the nintendo” or “the PlayStation”. Dude was talking but saying a whole lot of nothing. Thoughts were all over the place. I lol’d at the idea of a GTA dragon ball game. Good games have a clear direction and focus. This guy couldn’t even focus on his video. L take
Yikes i didn't know a review for a game could be this bad. It reminds me of IGN's Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 review, where they didn't even put the 4 in the title.
To clarify: you *can* win fights against strong opponents, it just requires a bit more effort. In fact, you can even buff the weakest characters with items, like Mr. Satan and Guildo, and make them as reliable as any other. What matters is skill and mastery of the mechanics.
My dude reviewed Sparking Zero like Dean Takahashi. One of the worst reviews I have ever seen. Don’t let this guy cook without a helmet and a parental guardian.
My cousin and I always liked starting as base Vegeta and Gohan and powering up mid match to fight each other. This guy is missing the point that it’s not about balancing and DB needing to be traditional. It’s supposed to be a casual wet dream where UI Goku is obviously the best character in the game because it’s Goku’s best form
That guy just....didnt seem to know anything about what he was talking about. Literally straight up ignorant of so many things. Be that as it may with all their bullcrap, the idea that we shouldnt want any kind of balance and that canon power levels should dictate strength is a damaging idea as well. Part of the fun of these game is playing as the characters you like, which would quickly become soured if 99% of the roster gets obsoleted and every match online becomes the same handful of the only characters worth picking if you want a fighting chance. Having some kind of balance is important whether a game is s fun romp like the sparking series or a more competitive fights like Fighterz. We likely have options to turn the big characters into these godly super fights that you need to bash your face against to beat but at base giving the most amount of characters a fighting chance as possible is generally the best path for a fighting game.
I'm not familiar with DB games, I want to ask something, Do DBZ fans consider the Xenoverse series as a good DB game? I have a plan to try Xeno2, what makes Sparking Zero different with Xenoverse? Cuz in the eye of casual like me, it kinda looks the same
They do enjoy it and it's a very good game but it's not a traditional fighting game or even an arena fighter. It's more of a RPG where you can create movesets and customise characters. It's also much more story focused with a lot of "what if" scenarios. Whilst you can play online against others, it's not done in the same vain as other arena fighters with mechanics that lend to a proper fight.
Xenoverse is an rpg where you make a custom character and take him or her though the story of dragon ball. You can pick your move sets and even transformations. Its story is about someone messing with the timeline and it’s your goal to make it right. Sparking zero will be a game with over 100 prebuilt characters from dragon ball that allow you to do battles of teams vs teams. This will allow you to transform or even fuse if you have the parter character on your team. Dragon ball kakkerat is another rpg that fallows the story but with pre built characters and is also worth playing.
This is my first sparking/budokai tenkaichi game since I was too young to play games back when these games came out, I'm already hyped to play it by myself and later with my cousins.
It's really weird how games that seemed to be made focused on being fun and are getting a lot of praise from fans, the media gives them poor coverage. They straight up go around spreading lies and I don't in why, we just want fun games😭
40:38 First he says we shouldn't rely on nostalgia at the start of the game... then says "you know what would be great for nostalgia.." And he insists on complaining about the Budokai games not "evolving" but... Sparking Zero isn't a Budokai game. If he thinks only because Tenkaichi had "Budokai" in its name, makes it the same as Budokai 1 (as he did) then I really don't believe he's played them. I think he just looked at the titles and is mad that Sparking is similar to the older games and not FighterZ. He hasn't actually played them. And he never says what is so new and innovative about FighterZ that Sparking Zero lacks. He said "graphics dont make a good game" but then.. praises FighterZ for its graphics... smh. He's probably only played FighterZ because its the most recent game, but has a lot of typical Game Journalist talking points. Thats why hes always contradicting himself.
That review was crazy. Funniest part to me might have been 25:50 when he's talking about how other series do better with balance, then shows a clip of a fan version of Umvc3 called Community Edition lol. Asura and some of the others shown on that clip are not a part of the actual Umvc3 game, and i sincerely doubt he was even aware of what he was looking at since he thinks tenkaichi and budokai are the same series. Also, that sales data in the end was almaot structured to make recent years look bad. He had 2015 to early 2020 bunched up together which would include shortly after the release of xenoverse 1, all xenoverse 2 and dbfz, and the early post launch of Kakarot. There have been other games since then, but those were the big ones. There's no doubt as to why revenue would diminish when the franchise has mostly just gotten revenue from a couple smaller titles and dlc from games that are 5 to 8 years old at this point. It's honestly surprising to me how someone that seems to know very little about fighting games is such a strong fanboy for DBFZ. You can tell they dont know about actual character balance and system mechanics beyond the surface level. Yet he doesnt see the appeal of Sparking. I like fighterz but imo, DBFZ was made for more competitive fighting game fans and marvel fans that also happen to like dbz. Sparking and Tenkaichi are made for DB franchise fans that happen to like the gameplay of arena fighters. I would think sparking would have broader appeal just thru sheer scope alone.
Bro's talking a lot of trash for someone who sees different games from the same franchise doing something iconic. Oh, why does a fight between Goku and Vegeta always feel the same, even with different graphics (however slight)? ... Because it is supposed to. It's "ICONIC"! Mike's got the right of it here. This guy is crazy.
I kiiiind of agree with some of what this guy is saying, but it's not really a deal breaker for me. When he says so many of the characters play the same, I felt that with tenkaichi 3 after a while. If the characters play more distinctively in sparking zero, then that would be a welcome improvement imo
The characters DO play differently though. If you press the same square to triangle combo with either goku or vegeta they're going to have a different follow up. Goku will do a heavy attack and Vegeta's (I think) turns the person around where it's harder for tbe person to defend.
@@TheAnimatedGamer ok fair. It's been a long time since I played, so I'm just speaking from memory. I had a lot of fun with the game anyway, so I'm still sold on the new one.
Most people who say that don't understand how BT worked though. Its not about the characters all having unique strings or unique inputs. Its about character types, that have them different strong types but the techs that were universal were what you are supposed to chain to extend combos. BT is about combos more so than play style, because its supposed to be a DBZ simulator first. Same with Ninja Storm for Naruto, while Clah of Ninja was a 3D fighter.
@@TheAnimatedGamer So, I've spent about 20 hours with Sparking Zero now, and I gotta say, the characters are all very samey. What you said is true; if you do the same square, triangle combo with goku or vegeta, they will probably do a different follow-up, but they won't do a *unique* follow-up. They all basically have the same triangle follow ups, they just do them at different points in the combo. Having said that, I'm completely addicted to this game right now 😂
Gamology messed up. First off they should have called them casual fighters instead of arena fighters. Budokai was not an arena fighter, but it was a casual fighter. Also FighterZ is still a relatively new game, could very well be slated for a sequel (and personally I hope it does, fantastic tite) but it still scratches that itch and not every game has to be competitive, or a tournament fighter if you prefer. He might have had a point if he compared Sparking Zero to Raging Blast, which was made with the same engine and same team as Tenkaichi 3 back in the day, just improved with better graphics and gameplay. Raging Blast doubled the moveset for the roster, had customizeable move sets, and gave a lot of characters new and better ultimates (Vegeta Scouter was so much better) but they walked all of that back for this version.
Guy asked for a baseball mini game be serious man, that's more gb on my console of shit majority don't want. Wait for gta 6 if you want a game with everything in it
Honestly, I’m glad its not going to be balanced. So when I start dogging UI Goku players with Zarbon, its gon feel satisfying. Real talk though, this game is primarily for fun imo. It doesn’t need to be balanced or competitive to accomplish that. That doesn’t mean I won’t be trying to get good, cause I definitely will, but overall I just want to kick back, play the whole cast, host lobbies where all the characters are randomized, have some laughs and moments.
This is just giving flashbacks to what ign said about tekken 8, "new entry same game" game review channels are about to lose their shit when gta6 drops with this thought process, cant wait to see the horrible takes than😭
That review was written by an AI 100% I am not joking, it feels like they set up an AI prompt had it scrape random stuff across the internet, and told it "write a review of the new dragonball game" It has the exact feel of AI written stuff, too much random irrelevant unrelated fluff, mentioning things that are either wildly inaccurate or completely obviously false, contantly going back and forth between positive and negative, constantly contradicting its own criticism. Bro I'm positive that article was not written by a fan of these games, but also not even written by human.
The reason why everyone is hyped is because nothing has really been like Budokai Tenkaichi since with Raging Blast getting the closet. All the current DB games are all VERY different and even in the area of overlap feel different from Kakarot to Xenoverse to FighterZ to now SZ. This game wouldn’t have the hype it does behind it if it was like every other game. This guy 😂
even tho some movement tech from bt3 isnt present in SZ, we can expect the same thing will make characters tiers higher than others: high base speed, defensive blast moves (explosive wave), attack speed, confirmed unvanishable combos, and the unblockable blast wave. Base Armor Trunks (S+ tier) is better than his super saiyan form AND gogeta 4 (and ssj armor trunks and gogeta 4 are in the same tier). Base Armor Trunks actually has the highest base speed in the game for some reason and has Explosive Wave, the best defensive option in the game (if the character has it). Cell (PF) is S++ the highest tiered character meanwhile Perfect Cell is only considered B tier bc he loses SExplosive Wave Ult, barrage db, his speed DROPS on tranforming from Speed 6 to Speed 4, and cell pf has confirmed combos on top of all that. Gogeta 4 is only considered S tier 😂 he’s not as good as Nouva Shenron lol and btw Android 17 is the only other character that shares S++ with Cell PF 😂😂😂 and Lssj Broly is his own tier bc of the damage reduction, super armor, and higher base damage. and he has a turnaround in his combos, you take increased damage from backshots 😅 anyway yuh if this game has competitive expect the tierlist to be unpredictable (unless you know a character has Explosive Wave than you should expect them to be high tier) peace ✌️
Provided things do work mostly the same, they Lowkey buffed Z Broly. Base still has a Rush and now has SEW as his Ult, SSJ lost Eraser Cannon as a Blast 2 for Bloody Smash at the cost of SEW Ult, and LSSJ got Gigantic Hammer turned into a proper Rush over a Command Grab.
As a Christian that doesnt curse, which i appreciate you dont curse (not saying you cant or shouldnt is your channel and i wouldve still watched the video either way but appreciate it) the word shambolic is hilarious and ill ask permission to use it 🤣 btw subbing 👌🏽love the riffing on these people that dont know about these games, truly a shambolic review from gamology 😂
Haha permission granted 😂 it's actually British slang from the 70s that spilled over into the 80s and 90s. As I'm a child of the early 90s, it was normal for me and my friends to say when we were growing up 😂
To call out that he loved the series..I gotta say his dragon ball card is effectively revoked at this point…the absolute shambology of his video from start to finish is hyperbolic..I can’t believe he put actual effort into that piece of misinformation, when he lists those games as all arena fighter games..sagas…🤔? the credibility of the review is completely shot
At first, I understood where the reviewer was coming from. He wants something competitive, something more unique and tradition-defying. That’s fine to want. Where the problem lies, in my opinion, is that he **should** expect that the game to be a return to form-that’s what it’s marketed as, and what it was developed as. When he starts harping on the idea of “it’s just the same old same old”, it starts to sound disingenuous to me. He either didn’t research this beyond his own opinion and some footage from an outdated build, or he’s purposely saying this stuff knowing he’s wrong. That’s bad no matter how I look at it.
I really hate the people who think all fighting games have to be street fighter. It doesn't help me believe they know anything beyond just bandwagon talking points based on it that game journalists often say. They play the most mainstream title of a genre then criticize anything else for not being exactly like that big title as if them shilling for it makes it the only proper formula. Game journalists do this a lot.
I am one of the people that don't care to play through the stories just to see the same thing every time. I also don't go and expect it to be different because it's what the majority seems to like.
I watched the first 2 mins of your vid. Went to go watch the original vid, "it cant be that bad" HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT LIKE WHAT!!!!! imma have your vid in background and hear your reaction. i gotta make my own video tho because like...wow
That ki charge argument is a mute point because from the db games that i have played(Fighterz,Xenoverse 2) standing in place to charge ki was bog standard. Also we’ve never to my knowledge have seen characters charge ki while moving or fighting in the anime or manga minus Goku’s kamehameha on cell and I think one more im forgetting If you wanted to charge ki then you had to get or make an opening to do so Having the option to escape while charging would be nice but you are announcing that your guard is dropped so that you can use stronger attacks and also it would get abused more than a mike tyson opponent when he did a line of coke Sparking zero does not need a coked up mike tyson problem when mike is already more than enough trouble
I can play Baby Vegeta 2, evil Buu, and Bojack! There’s very little more I can ask for that the game doesn’t already give. For example I’d love a transferable general Rilldo
What this guy is saying, is the argument you would hear from a lot of sf players back in the day in the early 2000s. They would tell you at the arcade that the sparkings games are bad because there not competitive 2d fighting games like king of fighters or sf. that the controls for the sparking games are bad because there no quarter circle motions .I love me some 2d fighters like sf6, I but even I know not all fighting games need to be competitive to good. Sometimes its fun to turn off your brain and a hit a fool with a final flash. The sparkings games were meant to be a causal simulations of the battles of the anime and that's fine. In recent years those type of players have fallen off, but this guy is a relic of those times.
You can tell this dude only likes 2D fighting games just because he's showing all the 2D games like street fighter/tekken/undernight/dragon ball fighterZ calling them the best
@@denisn8336that's a matter of opinion and they function totally differently. Tekken is the only 3D fighter he mentioned there but outside of that, he seems to prefer 2D games which is fine, but he didn't have to lie in the process.
Someone always got something to say about sparking zero because they can't just let the fans be happy and enjoy the game so they gotta go and lie about the game to cause controversy Especially when you got perfection who probably stalks bandai's UA-cam channel just so he could keep an eye out for any new sparking zero videos they've posted just so he could make another video hating on it, the dude hates on every single thing the game does for no justifiable reason because he's always looking for something else about sparking zero to complain about because he can never just be happy, he doesn't want to be happy, he wants to be upset for no reason so he can complain about everything
6:57. I really don’t want it t be super lore accurate if that’s the case ppl are only gonna play fusions and super characters . I do want my Saiyan saga vegeta to be able to throw hands with fused zamsu if it’s to accurate the games not gonna allow for any diverse matchups . Is my future gohan not gonna be able to fight a berrus .
You will but you'll definitely feel the power difference. I played Majin Vegeta in Tenkaichi 3 and I was fine. Obviously if you pick more extreme ends like kid Gohan in the Saiyan saga and go up against Jiren, it's going to be extremely difficult to win. The DP system online will stop people from having overpowered teams.
@@RealMikeHollow Not necessarily. On a casual level, sure, but the DP System doesn't necessarily correlate to Gameplay. T3 Frieza is a good example, his gameplay fluctuating drastically with each form. Or Base Armor Trunks being a top tier, yet costing much less DP than SSJ4 Gogeta. I think even Hercule, the worst character in the game according to DP, is kinda good due to Present Bomb Infinites.
Nah I want Guldo to fight on par. Lol but I don’t need it exactly balanced. For example, in raging blast 2, those characters couldn’t be customized to the same extent. But the mechanics apply to all so if you’re nice with it, you can dodge and charge attack effectively
I have to call BS on the part where he complains about the story being the same. He says that, while knowing XV exists. Its an arena fighter with a different plot. He complains about the lack of focus on the characters. Yet Kakarot exists to play through the whole thing, with added content to some arcs. So why is Sparking Zero bad for not having what exists in other DB games? He contradicts himself saying the game is just "another DBZ game" but then points out others as examples of what he claims he wanted from Sparking Zero, right after acting like they don't exist. His claims are just all over the place.
5:25 Ain't no way he called Dragon Ball FighterZ an arena fighter lol bruv wtf 😂😂😂 also, the DP system reminds me of CVS's Ratio System, interesting, & I like the what-if stories, as well!
"It doesnt have the back and forth keep em guessing" Boy we dont WANT THAT for Tenkaichi. And the fighting game fanatics who did? got that shit with FIghterz. Leave us DBZ fans with our DBZ games.
I will agree with him that flight and movement has been very weird feeling in every dragon ball game. I think Xenoverse did it best, and even that takes some getting used to.

Most of his review wasn't even really about the game itself. If he wanted something that plays entirely different and more focused on friendship, he has DBZ Kakarot.
He said there's 100 titles and then complained that this was coming out. Clown behaviour.

I love people who review games that they obviously HAVEN'T PLAYED. Quite the IGNorant thing to do.
To be fair the guy who is reviewing this for IGN actually seems to be a fan of both the anime and games so hopefully we get a competent review.

The thing about competitive games is that people are casuals until they’re not. If a person likes a game enough they will become a high level player if they want to.
His review is exactly the reason I haven't read a game review since 2012.
You made the right call 😂
@@RealMikeHollow An easy way to look at it is when it doesn't sound like speaking from experience, but speaking what he heard about. Plenty of buzzwords and 'how do you do, fellow kids' lingo with fighting games terms with no substantiation or insight. Game Informer magazine was chock full of this kind of writing.
And the parts of it where he gets detailed just so happened to be when he's talking about his ideals for a game. That's what he wanted to write about, everything else was an ai prompt sounding preamble.

Clearly, this reviewer doesn’t know Budpkai and Budpkai Tenkaichi are two different franchisees and the reason why Budokai Tenkaivhi had that name instead of the sparking title is to piggyback off the popularity in the west with Budokaki.
Some basic research could have saved him a whole lot of dislike 😅

He should just rewatch the anime if he wants character interaction that much
The new king of Yap at this point.

What??? Since when did this become a “wanted” feature? During the Broly movie, they were fighting in intense speeds in lava…
He says the game is slow (based on the first demo footage) ignores the game being much faster now, and then says the water doesn't slow you down (which would slog the gameplay if anyone decided to just stay down there because there is no breath meter.)
That Review hopefully blows up in their face, like wow..

@@RealMikeHollow thanks for the answer Mike

Honestly this is basically rage bait it has to be a joke.
It must be. This did that channel absolutely no favours though.
Bro was just yapping and filling time 😂
@@RealMikeHollow Haha yeah seems like
I kiiiind of agree with some of what this guy is saying, but it's not really a deal breaker for me.
I like how everyone is cooking this dude take. Like someone said” Who gave bro freedom of speech”💀

This guy 😂
Exactly. Well said. He has no idea what he's on about 😂 I don't know why they got someone that doesn't understand to do the review.
even tho some movement tech from bt3 isnt present in SZ, we can expect the same thing will make characters tiers higher than others: high base speed, defensive blast moves (explosive wave), attack speed, confirmed unvanishable combos, and the unblockable blast wave.
Gogeta 4 is only considered S tier 😂 he’s not as good as Nouva Shenron lol
and btw Android 17 is the only other character that shares S++ with Cell PF 😂😂😂 and Lssj Broly is his own tier bc of the damage reduction, super armor, and higher base damage. and he has a turnaround in his combos, you take increased damage from backshots 😅 anyway yuh if this game has competitive expect the tierlist to be unpredictable (unless you know a character has Explosive Wave than you should expect them to be high tier)
peace ✌️

Thanks for featuring my comment in your video. That's pretty cool. 😃😃
How could the game be unbalanced and have no character variety at the same time?
Make it make sense 😭
😂😂😂 I know its almost hard to believe fam.
After playing kakorot, my favorite way to have experienced the z story. I’d love a dragon ball dlc of that game
Kakarot is probably the best way to experience the story. Such a good time.
We need to get mike to watch some dbz infinite world matches, its basically Budokai 4
I play it. I love that game and Burst Limit.
That ki charge argument is a mute point because from the db games that i have played(Fighterz,Xenoverse 2) standing in place to charge ki was bog standard. Also we’ve never to my knowledge have seen characters charge ki while moving or fighting in the anime or manga minus Goku’s kamehameha on cell and I think one more im forgetting
If you wanted to charge ki then you had to get or make an opening to do so
Having the option to escape while charging would be nice but you are announcing that your guard is dropped so that you can use stronger attacks and also it would get abused more than a mike tyson opponent when he did a line of coke
Sparking zero does not need a coked up mike tyson problem when mike is already more than enough trouble
Perfections goofy ass made a video about the Gameology video aswell, he finally has a friend
My only concerns for sparking zero are netcode cross play and split screen
Same here. If they fumble the netcode then we are cooked.
I can play Baby Vegeta 2, evil Buu, and Bojack! There’s very little more I can ask for that the game doesn’t already give. For example I’d love a transferable general Rilldo
It gives me a chuckle with reviews like these. Anyways Mr. Hollow, prepare for my Turles & Gohan in Sparking Zero🫵🏾!!!
Ayyy, I'm thinking of use Turles with Goku Black myself. See you on the battlefield 🪓
Those games are better tho
@@denisn8336that's a matter of opinion and they function totally differently. Tekken is the only 3D fighter he mentioned there but outside of that, he seems to prefer 2D games which is fine, but he didn't have to lie in the process.
@@denisn8336 lol and what made you think that YOUR opinion is an established fact ?
@@florylegrand cause it is
@@denisn8336 sure, and i assume you got some facts to back that up?
Someone always got something to say about sparking zero because they can't just let the fans be happy and enjoy the game so they gotta go and lie about the game to cause controversy
Especially when you got perfection who probably stalks bandai's UA-cam channel just so he could keep an eye out for any new sparking zero videos they've posted just so he could make another video hating on it, the dude hates on every single thing the game does for no justifiable reason because he's always looking for something else about sparking zero to complain about because he can never just be happy, he doesn't want to be happy, he wants to be upset for no reason so he can complain about everything
@@RealMikeHollow
Not necessarily.
Play tenchichi 3 on the wii
Nahhh mike let him review it it’s his opinion 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't mind people having an opinion but he outright lied and didn't bother to do research on games he referenced 😂 He had to get called on his BS.
Nah I want Guldo to fight on par. Lol but I don’t need it exactly balanced. For example, in raging blast 2, those characters couldn’t be customized to the same extent. But the mechanics apply to all so if you’re nice with it, you can dodge and charge attack effectively
Its incredible that he talks about the dedicated fanbase of fighterz while me and all of my friends have been waiting more than 15 years to this game
Bruh how does Gamology does not know just there are 7 character types in SZ
They just wanted to get a review out there without checking it out properly most likely.
This guy makes IGN look good.
😂😂😂
5:25 Ain't no way he called Dragon Ball FighterZ an arena fighter lol bruv wtf 😂😂😂 also, the DP system reminds me of CVS's Ratio System, interesting, & I like the what-if stories, as well!
It seems he has been deep fried for his shambolic review. Our work here is done, brother.
@@RealMikeHollow Oh yeah I'm savage & I don't hold back. Happy to help bro.
Listen, I'm no game expert, but I know damn well that dragonball sagas is not an arena fighter. I used to play that game 😂
I couldn't believe he put that on there 😂
"It doesnt have the back and forth keep em guessing" Boy we dont WANT THAT for Tenkaichi. And the fighting game fanatics who did? got that shit with FIghterz. Leave us DBZ fans with our DBZ games.
I will agree with him that flight and movement has been very weird feeling in every dragon ball game. I think Xenoverse did it best, and even that takes some getting used to.
Dont forget to charge your yelling, in order to perform a strong Kameamea. 🤧
