Most of the comments on this video, including mine initially, are about the strengths and weaknesses of the man who brought the message. I think the Church can learn from that. The enemy has distracted us from beholding the glory of the Lord to concentrating on debates about people, styles and 'foolish controversies that only produce quarrels'. Why can't we focus on the wonderful, gracious God who touched people through this message, and through other messages preached by Lonnie, which started movements which led millions into a joyful, eternal relationship with God. As a Church we need to take our minds off men and minor doctrinal arguments and magnify the glorious God who always uses imperfect people to achieve His good in the lives of many. The message was definitely from God and He used it wonderfully. Lonnie seems to have been a wonderful man full of faith and love but also deeply hurt and broken by abuse as a child. However the main hero of this message and this story is Jesus. I suspect Lonnie would want us to remember that. Praise be to God alone!

My brother died from AIDS 1 month and 10 days before Lonnie did. My brother like Lonnie was a gentle spirit that had been targeted and abused by demonic men and he too, returned to and clung to the Lord. When I think of the time to come, I cry with joy at the thought of seeing my brother perfectly healthy and free in the presence of the Lord. Satan does everything he can to wipe out the precious children of God, then and now. Pray for everyone you meet, know, have known. Those prayers are eternal.

I was blessed to be there. He was a man of God... and humble. What a lot of things written about him have neglected is how he was reconciled with Greg Laurie Mike McIntosh and so many others AND John Wimber at the end...at the end, he was STILL sharing with us n encouraging us in our walk with Jesus. Didn't matter to us when we learned about the AIDS. We loved n cared for him till he finished his race n entered heaven. He was dearly loved.

I was blessed and fortunate to meet and have a lot of 1 on 1 time with Lonnie in Ft. Lauderdale in , I believe, 1973. He and his wife Connie were there with Bob Mumford to work on their marriage. He was my first really Spiritual Father in the flesh ... He oozed the HS and sometimes I was intimidated some just hanging out with him. A special blessing happen that Easter when he asked the guys from Love Song to come down to Lauderdale. We all went down to Miami to hear Billy Graham speak Easter Sunday. They were all so ordinary yet extraordinary.. and I learned a great deal from Lonnie during that time.
I met with him and 2 other brothers in Lauderdale after he returned from South Africa and he told us over dinner all about the miracles that took place over there.
He'll never be erased in my memory... Father raised him up because he simply said , to me many times," I'm available, use me."... I believe that's what we all just have to say... I'm available... Use me.!!

I understand that although Lonnie fell away for a while that in his last days he gave his heart back to God .
Samson did the same so did David .
Just like those to heros of the old testament Lonnie although imperfect was used of God greatly.
Didn't hear of him til this year.
My family didn't go to church when I was young but the year after college I was invited to a little pentecostal church that was on fire with revival and after a few months I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. God is good.

I was living in S CA during this era, but as a child in a Baptist church, I didn’t know what was going on. I saw the bumper stickers & billboards “I found it” & “ One Way.”
In 1986 I was radically apprehended by the power of the Holy Spirit, set free & born again. And I was never the same. “…Jesus, how I love You…” 🎵

@@SeekTheCross In the book of acts chapter 2:38 and chapter 10 and chapter 19 the scripture says that when people were filled with the Holy Ghost they began speaking in a language they did not understand .
Paul later explained in the scriptures ( I believe in Corinthians ) that this is praying with the Spirit.
He contrasted that to praying with our own understanding meaning praying in our normal language which we understand .
He said he prayed both ways.
He also said " I thank my God that I speak in tongue more than you all. "
So apparently the Apostle spoke in tongues alot.

What a loved filled preaching by Lonnie. I have only heard about him since the Jesus Revolution movie so don't know the whole story from the beginning I heard Greg Laurie speak about his end. It doesn't make any difference to me regarding his calling to the Lord, as he is still a child of God. Yes, agree, the Lord does give us confirmations of His Holy Spirit in our lives. The Lord sometimes prompts us and we're not sure if it is just our thoughts or Gods, and then God will send along something however ordinary to confirm these are my thoughts not yours, here is the evidence. Whatever Lonnie was or wasn't he led a lot of people to Jesus and he was passionate and honest in his love of Jesus. Sometimes God uses the weakest, most flawed vessels to show His love and give us all encouragement that we are loved by Him. Look at the Bible and see how many failed humans God used. This sermon was beautiful in his passion and commitment and what He was learning of God's love. We have all fallen short of the glory of God and that was why Jesus died to save us because we cannot save ourselves, it is only through God's grace and mercy.

Then he would walk down the middle of the aisle and he noticed somebody he thought needed a healing and he just brought up the healing to them of what it was and they yes that's right I did you know he touched them praying for them and they were healed right there. I was sick to hear my brother died exactly 1 week after I read those cards- I just remembered hearing a whisper "God's not dead". I gave my life to the lord.... To many of us who have been to Vineyard services or who have experienced genuine revivals, Lonnie's words may sound familiar. But before him and at the time of this recording, the cry to the Lord and the anointing of the Hoy Spirit that overwhelmed the body was a rare occurrence. I personally never heard "Holy Spirit come!' and the boldness of his prayers for people to receive the blessing of the anointing of the Holy Spirit before the late 80's. He was a special and anointed man. God Himself tells us that He works through the weak and broken vessels, and He does. God bless everyone who was blessed by this recording. May you receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit in your life, and have the peace and joy that comes from His Presence within you.

Just think of all the imperfect people the Bible used in the Old Testament to touch the hearts of people today. Most of the major prophets and kings had some seriously questionable ways, yet they were still used by God. Jesus himself wasn’t what the Jewish people were expecting, and that’s why they rejected him. The spirit of God may not always come in ways or people that we are expecting so it’s crucial we don’t throw judgement and just love. (1 John 3:23-24). I believe Lonnie was a true man of God with flaws like us all. You can’t listen to this sermon and tell me that God wasn’t using him.

Lonnie's flaws, as all of our flaws, point to the power and glory and grace of The One True God. There was only One man, Jesus, who came without flaw. No type of person, no matter how strong his or her anointing, should be worshipped. These flaws merely accentuate God's flawlessness. Look past each person who is flawed, but perfected in humility before God.

So interesting Lonnie mentioned that 43 years ago, how this country was in dire straights. How the only hope for it lay in how the Church was going to respond. Sound a little like today, much?
People are a bit critical that the new Jesus Revolution movie is not 100% accurate in how Lonnie is portrayed. If it weren't for this movie, I would never had ever heard of Lonnie Frisbee, never seen this video, never known about his amazing gifting of the Holy Spirit, or how important his role in that amazing awakening really was. Lonnie is being reintroduced to a whole new generation BECAUSE of Jesus Revolution, and I am grateful to meet him.
Thank you for posting this video. He was an amazingly gifted man, and anyone who chooses to try to label him a failure because he was also a sinner is a true hypocrite. After all, Jesus Himself told the crowd who brought the woman caught in the act of adultery, "He who is without sin cast the first stone." He never said adultery was NOT a sin, He simply pointed out that every one of those men who wanted to stone her was just as big a sinner as she was.
We all need to remember that we are all sinners who all deserve to spend eternity in hell. It is only by God's grace and Jesus’s precious sacrifice for our sins we have the hope of forgiveness and eternity in Heaven. Lonnie was no bigger sinner than any of us, simply because he contracted HIV, which turned into AIDS. It simply means God allowed him to receive his eternal reward early. Because Lonnie is whole and rejoicing before the Lord even now. His death was a blow to us who were left behind. I deeply regret I never met him or was blessed to hear him in person. But we need to listen to his message-be used by God. Be available. God can use anyone. God bless you.

I saw the film last night and then went to watch a lot of interviews with people who were there. Amazing that some of the pastors who were there are still denying the healings were genuine. This comes from pressure from their administrations and denominations. These men all know very well people were healed in these meetings. Many of the healed are still alive to give testimony! We need more to come forward and share them. Many have. The film was very well done to keep biased opinions out of it. I have heard some of the pastors recently say yes the miracles happened in one interview and I did not see any miracles in the next. They happened. This man is just a man. We can all be used by the Lord if we yield to his Spirit. We can also fall away in our walk but never be lost from his hands.

When we get anointed and God uses us to heal it is a lot for any of us to take in. To feel Jesus alive in us that way can lead some to think they are the only one to be used that way. It seems so unreal in a worldly way. We could have been going to church a long time and not have seen a move of God like this. Pastors get pressured to cool the theatrics or anything that causes some to complain. Most of us do compromise to the world. We do it every time we tell a lie or even have a troubled heart. None of us are perfect or even close. We all need God's grace on us. How life can be when we walk in his glory.

I love the deer cape ‘mantle’ and the anointing oil… running down the beard! The original Jesus Freak! This is a new time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit!!

Lonnie sounded very sincere in what he spoke here. Satan tempts us all, and sometimes we've given in, not even wanting to. Asking God, how in the world did i end up here? Or doing this or that! When we really know and love Jesus, having the Holy Spirit in us, we will repent and return. Thank you Jesus for grace. For mercy. For the hound of Heaven!

NEEDS EDITING AS FOLLOWS: from 12:58 to 27:23 doesn’t belong there - it’s repeated later on in its proper place (40:43). Just skip from 12:58 to 27:24 & it will make sense.

It is impossible for man not to sin, we are all sinners. How can you deny his anointing that was witnessed by many that was given to him given to him by the Holy Spirit.

I think it's awesome that Lonnie, warts and all, gets to have a part in this last move of God. Even the revelation of his struggle with homosexuality will have an impact. The homosexuals and transsexuals of today are like the 'dirty hippies' of that time, and when they come out of those lifestyles, the church must be prepared to love and disciple them.

We go to Mount Zion for 2000 years already, since Jesus established His Church "built on Peter." I was always aware that I am a member of the spiritual Temple where the Holy Spirit dwells, as long as I live in GRACE (absence of sin). That is possible thanks to Jesus who covers my sins through the sacraments He gave us for that purpose. All are welcome...but on Jesus conditions, not on any preacher's conditions.

The church was not built on Peter. Jesus Christ called Peter a stone, not a rock. In any case, Peter was not the apostle to the Gentiles! Paul was (Romans 11:13), so he couldn't have been the so-called pope that you Catholics created. Stop trying to create more divisions in the body of Christ. There is only one God, one Saviour and one Holy Spirit. Divisions or denominationalism is of the devil.

    I met Lonnie years ago.
A friend brought him to my house. He was very polite friendly and funny.
My friend brought him up here to Spokane. From California. Just for a couple days. We just visited for a while. Laught alot. He did seem like a nice guy. I remember he seemed spiritual. Not religious.
My friend that brought him to my house was Lauren Alferness. Did anyone know Lauren?
