I think the issue with Dialga is that he's no longer capable of thinking reasonably by the time you reach him. The tower's collapse is clearly having a detrimental effect on his mind, so trying to explain the situation to him wouldn't work.
Chatot: that's the only way to heal it. Mudkip: but why don't use a heal seed? Chatot: that may work. But only the short term, the same way you don't eat a heal seed to stop being thirsty or how a previously eaten heal seed won't heal you again if you get poisoned. Here, I'll give one to little Manaphy here to help with the symptoms while you go for the Phione Dew.
Mudkip: It might be dark, but what about a Reviver Seed? Chatot: If it came down to it, maybe. We are not sure how well a Reviver Seed works with this sickness, and its a wise last resort but its best to do whats known to work.
The best part of this is how the music just stops playing every time you make a good point, as if to leave the idea in the air until eventually the realisation hits them like 'oh shit yeah' Also Mudkip is such a savage, especially to Cresselia 😂
Likely lore reasons why these happen: 1: Grovyle knew he was going to disappear soon anyways, and it's likely Dusknoir was too heavy for Grovyle to push without pushing his whole body against Dusknoir. 2: Primal Dialga's too berserk to communicate or reason properly, and even if they tried to sneak past him, they would just end up getting hit while their back was turned, which could be fatal (TheKpa11's suggestion of using a stun seed then running past him is good though) 3: Heal seeds likely are meant to help your body speed up its healing of temporary statuses like poison and paralysis, which can eventually be healed off without a heal seed. Sickness probably needs its own special medicine, especially for a specific legendary. 4: Some people just get sick of seeing the sun, I suppose (Cresselia not joining dinner is a good call though!) But great video like always, PMD gan!
“Why don’t you just push him in?” “Because he’ll just come back if there’s no one to stop him in the future.” - “Here are the time gears. We were returning them.” “I DON’T BELIEVE YOU. I CANNOT SEE REASON BECAUSE I AM GOING INSANE.” - “Why don’t we just use a Heal Seed?” “Because it only removes status effects and can’t actually recover your health.” - “Why would you want a world of darkness? That sounds awful and needlessly evil.” “Because darkness is my natural environment. What’s normal for you is my own personal hell that I can only escape for a few hours at a time if I’m lucky.”
Well if Palkia wad smart the protagonists would've never met Cresselia or Darkrai because the deity of space wouldn't waste its time kidnapping them from their home to its secret lair before attempting to kill them and it wouldn't accidentally pushing them off a cliff in trying to do so.
Better line choices Dan: yeah there's an hole in that plan Darkrai. Darkrai: "chuckles" and that 'hole' is? Dan: the move Flash. Darkrai: 😶😶😶 "faceplams" darn it.
My theory about Grovyle going with Dusknoir is that Dusknoir would immediately try to get back into the past again if he was pushed alone, but with Grovyle going with him into the future, he can make sure he stops Dusknoir from just travelling back and thus ensuring a free path for our characters.
I actually really love this video because the humor is pretty on point with actual mystery dungeon humor (at least in rescue team and exploration team, I don't know about the other games)
Grovyle could use a move like Bullet Seed or Energy Ball to blast Dusknoir into the portal. If it isn’t enough, it might stun him long enough for the others to recover and gang up on Dusknoir; it would definitely be a karmic end for such a horrible villain. If Darkrai plunged everyone into an eternal slumber and nightmare, wouldn’t everyone eventually die within a couple months? They’d be unable to wake up and eat or drink and the stress would kill them faster. All of Darkrai’s victims would be dead before the year was a quarter over. What exactly would Darkrai do if he had nobody to torture?
All those made me chuckle, it's true those were some unnecessary drama / plot holes (though not that big), especially Grovyle's "sacrifice" *But* just for the sake of it I'll advocate for the reasoning behind the (original) scenes - Though the big speech ruins this impression, Grovyle throwing himself into the dimensional hole with Dusknoir could make sense if that hole's existence was time constrained. If Grovyle just threw Dusknoir in, who knows if he might not just take it the other way to come back if it still exists, so supplementary precautions had to be taken - It wasn't Dialga on the Temporal Tower but Primal Dialga (or at least in the making). He was turning crazy, so I wouldn't expect him to listen even when presented the time gears. So valid reason to throw hands before speaking (at least way more than with Rayquaza in the previous game) - Heal Seed according to some wiki, "[…] heals many bad statuses, such as being poisoned or paralyzed" "Many", hence not everything. I don't exactly remember Manaphy's illness, but pretty sure it wasn't just a bad burn you can catch fighting other pokemons - Darkrai is basically a psychopath. Do you really expect to reason with him on his motives? He wants to have a world to his liking that he can rule, that's unfortunately pretty realistic considering what can be found in the real world
Bruh I remember raquaza from the original: bro was just an entitled dick like, “fuck you you’re not allowed here I couldn’t care less if the worlds in danger HYPER BEAM!”
The first two I can kind of understand the choices they made. Grovyle went back with Dusknoir because that way Dusknoir doesn’t try to come back to the present to stop the whole paralyzing planet. Dialga was just uncontrollable and couldn’t be reasoned with. Still a great video. I loved it.
How about an alternate timeline where Chatot actually listens to your story after the Apple Woods chapter resulting in Team Skull getting rightfully punished?
Yeah, the partner and the player should’ve just said it was team skull’s fault. It makes me mad that they don’t say it just because chatot yells at them and says he doesn’t wanna hear their excuses
This is hilarious! Mystery Dungeon is one of my favorite series, and the comical spin you put in these high tense situations made it so funny! Thanks for making my day :)
Even if you push someone who's holding you you'd still be held and pulled in, Dialga was insane and insanity is not the same as intelligence, heal seed may recover most status ailments but there's no lore saying it's a cure all and Chatot wasn't stupid to begin with. Villains aren't reasonable not because of intelligence but because of the kind of person they are and Darkrai's biology is also not intelligence related. I will say though that line about reviver seeds was a very nice joke.
Would telling Dialga that you're here to stop the tower from collapsing even work, though? The whole point of it is that the collapse of Temporal Tower will make Dialga lose his sanity, so it's not likely he'd be able to see reason just because you said you were trying to help.
Someway, somehow, I made it through the Dark Crater without Cresselia fainting *ONCE* (The only time any of my team fainted was because of moves such as reflect which one shotted)
I mean... had Grovyle not gone through, even assuming he was strong enough to push Dusknoir through without needing to go with him, they would have lost. Either Dusknoir would have been sent back through pretty quickly, just as intent on stopping them due to not having had that chat with Grovyle, or Primal Dialga would have gone through. Grovyle was ultimately needed in the future to redeem Dusknoir and stall Primal Dialga. And the point of the final boss fight is that Dialga is rapidly turning into Primal Dialga, and is too far gone to listen to reason.
0:00 - 0:30 there is a reason why grovile doesn’t just push him in… dialga can open dimensional holes anywhere as well as anyWHEN… so if dusknoir was simply pushed in… he would come back strong a few minutes after being pushed in to give them a false sense of hope and would delay them long enough to allow temporal tower to collapse… grovyle went with him to prevent that very situation from happening… you can’t prove me wrong here…
If grovyle didn't go in with him, there wouldn't been anyone to keep him there until the portal closed. Since they're pushing at each other, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable to say it was necessary to keep him in there. And saying that they should use a generic healing item to cure a rare disease is like saying you could use pensulin to cure cancer. And Darkrai might have had a emotional motivation to want to see others suffer. Even if he didn't, he might simply have been evil or some kind of beyond-reason natural/spiritual force. That's not uncommon in stories. I haven't played these games, so I don't know for certain what's going on, but most of these don't seem like the pokemon just being unreasonably dumb
As far as darkrai, darkrai is the nightmare Pokémon so of course he’d want the real world to be full of darkness because that would be a living nightmare.
Dialga: FOR THOSE WHO INVADE THE TEMPORAL TOWER, I'LL SHOW THEM NO MERCY! Grovyle: We have the Time Gears for saving the tower. Dialga: *Understandable, have a nice day*
Bold claim, I personally wouldn't use 'smart' to describe these solutions. 1. I reckon it would be easier for Grovyle to go with Dusknoir and keep him company to ensure he doesn't regroup and return to the present with even more (or stronger) forces. More importantly however, the portals weren't introduced to work like that; What touches them goes through and if Grovyle needed to grab Dusnoir that firmly to even get him through one of those, he inevitably would have to follow as well. 2. Dialga doesn't seem to recognize (or respond to) reasoning since with the tower collapsing it is losing its mind, that's the whole point of the fight. 3. An Illness isn't exactly a status condition or at least it doesn't have to be one. One Heal Seed might buy time by helping with the symptoms for a day or two, but it doesn't have to cure Manaphy's Illness at all. 4. I don't have much to say about Darkrai since you made him a completely different character. To "Who would want the world to be 'engulfed in darkness'?" he would simply respond "I do."
You know those old question type memes that said, "You can put one f bomb in any movie of your choice, what movie and where?" This is by far the best use case of that concept. My god, this was already satisfying but the scene with chatot made me lose it laughing more than I have in a while.

Laughed so hard at Dialga staring at the time gears and Riolu's "Why?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Option 2 wouldn't have worked bc Dialga was becoming more and more unhinged by the second
The best part of this is how the music just stops playing every time you make a good point, as if to leave the idea in the air until eventually the realisation hits them like 'oh shit yeah'
Also Mudkip is such a savage, especially to Cresselia 😂
These were fantastic. We need more of these! They are hilarious!
Grovyle went with him to make sure Dusknoir wouldn't just pull time travel shenanigans and come back again.
Pokemon mystery Dungeon: Explorers of intelligence
Cresselia bout to end the world because of what Mudkip said
Yeah, sure... A normal attack later... Cresselia: "I-Impossible!" *dies*
The Cresselia burning through all your reviver seeds is too real 😂🤣😂🤣
Rest in peace all the seeds Cresselia used up when I was a child trying to do this mission. XD
1:57 HE WANTS IT
Likely lore reasons why these happen:
1: Grovyle knew he was going to disappear soon anyways, and it's likely Dusknoir was too heavy for Grovyle to push without pushing his whole body against Dusknoir.
2: Primal Dialga's too berserk to communicate or reason properly, and even if they tried to sneak past him, they would just end up getting hit while their back was turned, which could be fatal (TheKpa11's suggestion of using a stun seed then running past him is good though)
3: Heal seeds likely are meant to help your body speed up its healing of temporary statuses like poison and paralysis, which can eventually be healed off without a heal seed. Sickness probably needs its own special medicine, especially for a specific legendary.
4: Some people just get sick of seeing the sun, I suppose (Cresselia not joining dinner is a good call though!)
But great video like always, PMD gan!
Darkrai: this mortal food, it disgust me.
“Why don’t you just push him in?”
“Because he’ll just come back if there’s no one to stop him in the future.”
-
“Here are the time gears. We were returning them.”
“I DON’T BELIEVE YOU. I CANNOT SEE REASON BECAUSE I AM GOING INSANE.”
-
“Why don’t we just use a Heal Seed?”
“Because it only removes status effects and can’t actually recover your health.”
-
“Why would you want a world of darkness? That sounds awful and needlessly evil.”
“Because darkness is my natural environment.
Another way to heal Manaphy would be a reviver seed.
Gabite scale
Or maybe just to put manaphy in a tub of water all day or to drink tons of water
Or to drop him in salt, because that's what the sea is made off.
"Shut the fuck up Cresselia" eternally obliterated, 10/10
Better line choices
Dan: yeah there's an hole in that plan Darkrai.
Darkrai: "chuckles" and that 'hole' is?
Dan: the move Flash.
Darkrai: 😶😶😶 "faceplams" darn it.
I was half expecting Cresselia to be standing to the side watching everyone eat at the end.
For me the best part is darkrai is just floating there MENACINGLY
Is that a JoJo or Spongebob reference
"Sounds good to me" - Every Legendary
Notice how Darkrai is just floating there at the end & leaving his plate of food completely untouched?
"where is the food hole?"
All those made me chuckle, it's true those were some unnecessary drama / plot holes (though not that big), especially Grovyle's "sacrifice"
*But* just for the sake of it I'll advocate for the reasoning behind the (original) scenes
- Though the big speech ruins this impression, Grovyle throwing himself into the dimensional hole with Dusknoir could make sense if that hole's existence was time constrained. If Grovyle just threw Dusknoir in, who knows if he might not just take it the other way to come back if it still exists, so supplementary precautions had to be taken
- It wasn't Dialga on the Temporal Tower but Primal Dialga (or at least in the making). He was turning crazy, so I wouldn't expect him to listen even when presented the time gears. So valid reason to throw hands before speaking (at least way more than with Rayquaza in the previous game)
- Heal Seed according to some wiki, "[…] heals many bad statuses, such as being poisoned or paralyzed"
"Many", hence not everything. I don't exactly remember Manaphy's illness, but pretty sure it wasn't just a bad burn you can catch fighting other pokemons
- Darkrai is basically a psychopath.
"Who would want the world to be engulfed in darkness?"
"Me, you dumbass. I just said that. Now if you would let me speak, maybe..."
The first two I can kind of understand the choices they made. Grovyle went back with Dusknoir because that way Dusknoir doesn’t try to come back to the present to stop the whole paralyzing planet. Dialga was just uncontrollable and couldn’t be reasoned with. Still a great video. I loved it.
Dialga was So Suprised he stopped talking in CAPs
How about an alternate timeline where Chatot actually listens to your story after the Apple Woods chapter resulting in Team Skull getting rightfully punished?
Yeah, the partner and the player should’ve just said it was team skull’s fault. It makes me mad that they don’t say it just because chatot yells at them and says he doesn’t wanna hear their excuses
If I was in PMD I would’ve done this 😂😂😂😂
I love how the literal villain of the game is invited to party but cresselia can go to the deep end and everyone will like this
0:09 Mudkip is apparently from New York.
...?
Youse (or, as Mudkip says: "use"). It's a New York way to say "You"@@Brahvim

*”How do I eat?”*
I don't think Dialga was really ever going to be reasonable on Temporal Tower
This is hilarious! Mystery Dungeon is one of my favorite series, and the comical spin you put in these high tense situations made it so funny! Thanks for making my day :)
This is what happens when you give Dialga a Snickers.
Because you're not you when you're hungry.
logic is such a beautiful thing
Even if you push someone who's holding you you'd still be held and pulled in, Dialga was insane and insanity is not the same as intelligence, heal seed may recover most status ailments but there's no lore saying it's a cure all and Chatot wasn't stupid to begin with. Villains aren't reasonable not because of intelligence but because of the kind of person they are and Darkrai's biology is also not intelligence related.
I will say though that line about reviver seeds was a very nice joke.
Darkrai:" Well, dark is literally in my name, so that is kind of my thing."
Riolu: Hey Darkrai eat a Snickers your not you when your hungry.
*/Munch, mumch*
Riolu: Better?
Darkrai: Better :)
“Chatot, you are so fucking stupid.” That felt personal, and I love it.
Wasnt dialga going insane so even seeing the time gears wouldnt work to calm him normally. Or is he one of the now smart characters
dayum, Mudkip throwing some shade at everyone xD
Lol omg 😂 the darkrai one made me laugh so hard
The fact that this is my team every time, riolu and mudkip, make it feel that much closer to home and hilarious
The Cresselia part lol
I really liked the scenes. I think that the PMD games would benefit from humorous twists like these.
Would telling Dialga that you're here to stop the tower from collapsing even work, though? The whole point of it is that the collapse of Temporal Tower will make Dialga lose his sanity, so it's not likely he'd be able to see reason just because you said you were trying to help.
When Cresselia got roasted by Mudkipz
Player: why won’t you die?
Kecleon: nanomachines, son!
lmaoooo love the mysterie dungeon content, explorers of time is one of my favourite games of all time. Keep up the great work!
Someway, somehow, I made it through the Dark Crater without Cresselia fainting *ONCE* (The only time any of my team fainted was because of moves such as reflect which one shotted)
0:50
Dialga not yelling feels illegal 😂
I mean... had Grovyle not gone through, even assuming he was strong enough to push Dusknoir through without needing to go with him, they would have lost.
36 revive seeds damn that must be a deep backpack
0:00 - 0:30 there is a reason why grovile doesn’t just push him in… dialga can open dimensional holes anywhere as well as anyWHEN… so if dusknoir was simply pushed in… he would come back strong a few minutes after being pushed in to give them a false sense of hope and would delay them long enough to allow temporal tower to collapse… grovyle went with him to prevent that very situation from happening… you can’t prove me wrong here…
This is too hilarious. I almost fell off my seat. Thanks!
What do you mean "Who would want the world to be engulfed in darkness"? The guy just told you. He does.
The cresseia jabs never get old
If grovyle didn't go in with him, there wouldn't been anyone to keep him there until the portal closed.
That Darkrai scene is more like another nightmare played out than anything
You know those old question type memes that said, "You can put one f bomb in any movie of your choice, what movie and where?"
This is by far the best use case of that concept. My god, this was already satisfying but the scene with chatot made me lose it laughing more than I have in a while.
