Not unlike popping your ears when you hold your nose. This pressure built up until it was excruciating pain, it actually woke me up in tears, it was so bad. I went to the emergency room, and they gave me antibiotics, which seemed to help. But all they told me was that I had an ear infection. That was also Saturday. Monday, my ear was still hurting, although not as bad as it was on Saturday. I also had marked hearing loss in that year. I go in for a walk-in pediatric appointment, and ironically get the same doctor I saw for my arm. He basically tells me that the infection was to such an extent and severity, that it burst my eardrum. Hence, why I could not hear. My final crappy Army hospital story was when I was 17. I had this tenderness and pain in my foot, specifically the big "ball" of my foot just behind the big toe. It was a sharp pain, and I hated to put weight on it. So... My mom took me to the emergency room, this time in Darnell Army hospital. they gave me a shot, I think it was a steroid. They took x-rays, they took blood, they actually did quite a bit of work. They found nothing. So, they put me in a cast for three weeks. Fun times. Forgive any grammatical or spelling errors, I am a bit drunk.

That's why they always tell you to come back if you start experiencing new symptoms or increased severity of existing ones.
