So those tokens, around 17 mins in are called Scar tokens, and were used in The Age of Tyranny for the campaign version of this. Basically you can go from one Tyrant to the next, and when you win you would get boons and Scars. The scars would block a skill out that you couldn't use against the next Tyrant. I think for Gale she has 3 Skills that are blocked via those tokes, and she can only unlock those dice via her backup plan.
Honestly I love a good gameplay of a board game.If I'm watching someone else play it and I'm invested and I wanna keep watching or I wanna play it next? Then I know it's something I actually am interested to pick up period
Awesome! I just wrapped up my first ever game of TMB (Undertow) tonight. I loved it and I’m really looking forward to diving in deep and playing over and over :-)
I watch these videos most commonly because I like rambling. Usually my own rambling, but rambling in general is fun. Also, the occasional vacillations between rambling and all of a sudden rambling about whatever has been taken out of the boxes. Meanwhile, I used to watch through all the To Back Or Not videos, but rarely do right now because I want to wait for things to come in and look at how my storage is holding up before I consider anything else. I also agree that having one single vision of what is "good" and then presenting it as fact is totally problematic. It's best to recognize that our individual views aren't reflective of everyone's views. Lastly, I always assumed "Too Many Bones" was related to how many dice the game focuses on. You know, dice, i.e. bones. Nice to know it's multi-faceted.
It does, but it takes a little creativity. It haven't weighed it, but it certainly is not something intended to be carried around (don't bring it to the table even if you only have half the content; the bottom of the chest will leave bad scratches)
I finished filling the Trove Chest just the other day. Had to move a bunch of stuff but it is finished now. I was on a board game convention and had TMB with me. That made things easier. The Trove Chest was already empty :) Oh, and I got Automaton of Shale with this delivery. Can't wait playing :)
I am going from just Undertow + Ghillie to all gearlocs + base game + unbreakable hero + 40 days + premium chips. Seems like I will be getting mine much later. Maybe I'll be level 100 in Diablo 4 by then.
Came to this video expecting the lowest form of content, left this video having an existential crisis about what value I get out of the content I consume.
I think that reaction videos give you sense of friendship, it's the same as showing your friend a video and then watch their reaction while they watch... and there can be better or worse reactors, weird :D
Inherently biased comment - but I enjoy these videos! I am also watching after having played this game solo a couple of times and really enjoying it! Regardless, I’m here because I enjoy what you bring to these unboxing videos!
One of the Gamefound updates indicated CTG would provide a second copy of the skills reference sheet. But they didn’t. Comments on Gamefound indicate CTG customer service said they won’t provide the second one (it’s not in the Unbreakable box). No one seems to be able to find communication from the company indicating they changed their mind (which is bad enough). But they promised the same thing with Elder Scrolls. Now they’re proving they don’t keep their word. My back/don’t back decision was based on multiple copies of skills reference sheets. That ends my good opinion of CTG and I wholeheartedly regret backing ES. Such an easy thing: follow through on what they tell backers to expect, and communicate early when that doesn’t happen. What a disappointment.
@@seansmith2650 i do, since its what was stated as included content. if you're ok with publishers breaking promises, that is totally fine. expecting others to feel the same is a problem. have a great day. on its own its not a huge problem. considering how many pledges showed up with damaged components (my box was trashed thankfully the contents were fine), warped chips, insanely late delivery (burncycle was supposed to be delivered late may just 2 or 3 updates ago), dice with many issues, and a whole list of other issues CTG just isnt the company they used to be. they have even told some they wouldnt replace their game boxes that were damaged according to posts. @eyoung6943 i tried looking for confirmation of this claim, and didnt find it, though i didnt scour all the GF comments. thanks for bringing it to my attention though. CTG used to be an insta back company for me. that is rapidly changing.
Honestly sounds like your nitpicking, in the campaign for this, even in the stretch goals their is no mention of another copy of skill reference sheets.
I totally regret not backing this one. I was on the fence and decided not to but have since watched a ton of TMB playthroughs and wish I had backed as I'd really like to get into this game. I think at the time of the campaign I was just honestly overwhelmed with the amount of content and options avaliable and just couldn't decide what I wanted to get as a jumping in point! lol
The Baddie is called Rol with the with Skills Crowdsurf & Star Power... still I'll definitely be calling Rol "Crowdsurf Star Power" from now on. This is not opinion but possibly has a smattering of arrogance :P. Unboxing videos have a use wrt checking content and the discussion so not in the same bracket as low/no effort reaction videos... still if people watch them and they are clearly successful.. fair enough.
Been 2nd guessing this purchase with all the other campaign games but man this looks awesome. Also, dismissing something because of your point of view is egotistical. A person would then be egotistic and therefore arrogant to view the world this way. Thinking highly of your own opinion isn't arrogant by itself... and it's not if it considered others point of views and opinions and circumstance.
The second mine arrived, I took one look at the rulebook and the story campaign book and instantly sold it to whoever i could find online for a profit. Zero streamlining, zero elegance. Not for me.
Sad, Once the game is learned its fully streamlined and elegant in terms of strategy. I would argue that most board games have that learn the rules barrier.
@@JM32JM32 You must not play many complex board games then. A lot of games have tons of rule that take more then 15 mins. Personally I don't care how long a game takes to learn as long as the game is good when you play it.
@@CheddahSlammer for me, a good board game is first and foremost about theme and the narrative journey. So the fact that TMB's campaign narrative is honestly pretty skimpy is another huge negative. But even in an epic sprawling game like ISS Vanguard or Sleeping Gods, you can absolutely get up and running in 15 minutes.
@@JM32JM32 Sleeping gods I agree with, but ISS is surprising since I felt that the binder ship management aspect was more rules disguised as game play.

Yep :)

I'm new too. My base copy arrives in a few days ^_^

Can't wait to know if/see how this all fits in the Trove Chest!

:)
Well this is awkward because I share your content all the time. As soon as I know a friend is interested in a game.
Should change the name of the game to Too Many Boxes, amiright?
If you got the Trove Chest you dont need a single Box 🎉

Can't wrap my head around why you would want to get rid of games just because you got a new one 😅
Why not just keep them?
Because time is a limiting constraint.
