Also, I'm SO happy to hear you are taking into consideration Autism and ADHD! My first ever counsellor brought up the topic with me, and having an answer to who I am and how my brain works has saved my life. I now work with fellow Autistic and ADHD people in counselling, and it is so fulfilling. Thank you!
I'm in clinical psychology from TX and from my understanding licensed Psychologists are only able to provide interpertation for psychological testing. There are psychometricians who can administer the tests that don't require that license. We are trained for years on these batteries and they are quite nuanced beyond just administering the tests, so I would be mindful about that.
Hi there! That's awesome! The texas stateboard permits licensed professional counselors and licensed professional counseling associates to administer and interpret test batteries and assessments in accordance with our rule book, as we too are trained for years and have taken courses related to this. We each chose what we want to specialize in though. I wanted to receive additional training and consult to serve the populations I work with (focusing on ADHD and Autism). The counselor and supervisor I trained with has been doing this for 10 years so it's not new but there's so many different specialties that I continue to explore more in depth. I've noticed that there's a huge disconnect between what psychologists know about what LPC's and LPC-A's can do and I wish there was more clarity on that so we could all fully understand what each other's fields can do. I've noticed this with some supervisors too though.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. you are absolutely right about changing clothes and transitioning roles. Navigating life transitions and maintaining boundaries are so important.

So glad I found your channel! I love watching other peoples careers and behind the scenes, and it made me so happy to see you walking and watching tv lol I do that too! Love your energy and your bun, I subscribed and can’t wait to watch more!
@@themorgansophia Awww thanks so much! Same I love watching other people’s day in the life vlogs. My nosy self wants to know what life is like for someone who ownsa bookshop or works as a nurse.🥰😂
You are so sweet and REAL! I LOVE that about you and I’m so happy that I found your channel! Thank you for all the information, guidance and tidbits to help people considering the career and those already in the journey! I’m sure fees can vary but are you able to give a range that a Supervisor may charge in Texas? Also, do you continue to have sessions for therapy for yourself to help keep you “in check” or cope? Thanking you in advance!! Hugs and 😘
Hey, your videos helped me get ready for and get through the NCE a while back so: gratitude. I like this one, too and find it helpful. FYI, I reached out to my supervisor recently and had a few consults over the course of about 4 months. I find it helpful to debrief and hear their feedback. This video feels like a bit of a debrief for you which is cool. Anyway, thx.
@@siltbabbler wow so happy for you! 🎉 Thank you for letting me know. I definitely like sharing my self-talk in these videos because I really needed to know these things in grad school and my first year. I love consulting and getting to debrief with other counselors you feel comfortable with, it so cool to get to hear different experiences and approaches.
