For some reason anytime someone has a story about a Beatle or even if a Beatle is telling a story about about themselves, it’s always wildly entertaining and hilarious.
@aaron names lol? must be fun to have your attitude and mentality around lmao
I know that I was riveted. Meeting George and getting high with him, sounds cool af.
the beatles seemed to find the adoration and worship over them genuinely amusing. they each had their ego trips but seemed to always come back down to earth. george martin said they each had a charismatic warmth and humor to them that just made you feel good in their presence. they all grew up in post ww2 families and achieved perfect success in their 20's, then rode the psychedelic waves of love and peace flowing thru western culture at the time... it's so different from "fame" today, where the total end goal is just to be forever in the Cycle of Attention, no matter what...
@@matthewgaffney1955 wow greatly put.
you all prolly dont care but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can give me
Harrison was such a damn legend.
This story is absolutely fantastic. The idea of listening to The Traveling Wilburys with George is just incredible.
and got high with him afterwards. EPIC
Talk about your supergroup
Is he saying "Mulberrys" though? 😂
The idea of meeting George on a sidewalk even more incredible.
Unfortunately that's one dream we can't realize anymore.
That is the part of being a celebrity that average people do not see . What Jalen Rose and inside the NBA do for talking about lifestyle off the court , it would be nice to have a star talk about the lifestyle.
Smoking a J with a Beatle = Mega Flex
he has to wonder if he should pass harrison a joint? wtf
@GretschDog just wanna let you know, this is one of my favorite replies on UA-cam.
The Traveling Wilburys. great band. Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty, what a lineup.
Stimulation Simulation fantastic Line Up! So sad that most have gone away
and Jim Keltner
Roy was one of most original vocalists as well one of the greatest I think.
I think Frank Zappa and Ian Anderson was in the band too but Bob Dylan kicked them out because they were too good
with out eric clapton :(
"Ahhh The 60s!" 😂😂😂
Oky
I was there.
I was two.
But I was there....
@aaron names 1960's.. there was always rumor that the beatles did a lot of drugs, that's why some of their songs are kinda weird and the lyrics are mystical... like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, that song was abbreviated by the letters LSD, and LSD was a hip drug back then....
@@pihermoso11 Supposedly Bob Dylan introduced the Beatles to weed and it was all over from there LOL 😆
@@frankl4750 Bob introduced them to 'tea'. The Beatles would go on to enjoy the pleasant effects of tea drinking, for years to come.
MARTIN SHORT'S WIFE WHO HE MENTIONS IN THIS VIDEO DIED IN 2010 OF CANCER. They had been together for 38 years and adopted three children.
His older brother died in a car crash when Martin was twelve years old, his mother died of cancer when he was eighteen, and his father died two years later when he was twenty from a stroke(wikipedia). So for all his kind-hearted happy go luckiness he's known for he's known quite a bit of sorrow in his life.
I read his book last May and apparently when his brother died, that was the only time in his life that he, Martin, could recall having a moment of precognition.
When Abe Lincoln was accused of showing too much humor during the Civil War he replied, “If I do no laugh I must cry.”
God love him. Everyone tells me I’m funny but i also had some tragic times. Humor is the bandaid 😀
drServitis.....Hey man, thanks for that tidbit of morbid information. You just ruined my whole fukking day !!!
Captain Risky.....hey Captain Obvious, my mother died when I was nine yrs old.
Thinking of the love Martin has for his wife. On an interview with King he said he hoped the plane he was on soon after her death would crash. So powerful to come out of that pain with such grace and wit. And love. Beware of darkness, indeed.
indeed !
That's terrible. What about the other people on board that plane?
@@afisemenaborevlaka48 it's just a feeling, he didn't have the ability to cause it to crash
Martin lost his brother and both parents by the time he was 20. For some people (myself included) dark humor is one of the only things that can help you get through the dark times in life. I wish more people understood that dark humor isn't a sign of insensitivity. It's quite the opposite.
PS: I actually have "Beware of Darkness" tattooed on my chest. :) That song is a bit of a mantra for me.
What about the other people on the plane
Dang! Andy over there starting to look like an Olympic athlete. Good for him.
Yes! I wonder if Blay's been influencing him. He did a complete 360 transformation with his weight loss!
if you mean like a high diver bc he looks like a homosexual olympic athlete then yes you're correct.
I was like .... hmmm is he going through a hard time did his wife divorce him and after 5 minutes of research I found out that he and his wife seperated this year.
So what I'm trying to say is ladies get him while he is on the market!
@@MDZPNMD Yeah he's going through a hard time I've heard. He's a good dude. I hope he doesn't put the weight back on.
@@mr.chipwhitley8770 360 transformation. love it.
I love that they can just talk candidly about getting high now. Can you imagine all the stories we never heard from the age of tv where you couldn't tell these kind of stories?
Ohhhhhhh, BABY!!!
I live in a state with recreational cannabis and I still cringe when talking about it. I still go behind a building to smoke.
lol.
@@JustLikeHeaven77 since I posted that, I now work at a dispensary. Im here to say it gets better!
@@JustLikeHeaven77 lol, old habits die hard. It's hard to forget the fact that people used to go to jail for a joint or two.
"He looked like George harrision" that's awesome I saw mccartney once in concert such a good feeling knowing ur feeling the same breeze of wind as a beatle haha even tho they're just 4 dudes who played music. No one is as inspirational as the beatles
Martin's such a great storyteller!
He sure is. Very few are as good as him.
I love how Andy really does make Conan laugh so hard.
When Martin Short gets high, does he get Martin Medium?
Get out
No, he becomes "martin tall"...
@Heeeres Johnny
wait, you’re right. he fucked up that joke
It's "middle".
I say this joke is over done.
George's warm enthusiasm for his TW2 album, singing lines he loves from the tracks, as told by Marty Short -- delicious memory; thanks for sharing that moment with Conan, a ripped Andy, and us all! Special to listen to!
Short is SERIOUSLY one of the funniest people ever!
It was a great George Harrison impression Conan.
It was, and I come from Liverpool.
@Non Angli sed Angeli Where you're from is irrelevant. He made him sound like he'd been kicked in the head by a dark horse
@@comanchio1976 A little exaggeration is not unwarranted in something like this...
Ive always loved his Hepburn impression.
George Harrison lives on in all of us. Jesus. Peace. Love from Kentucky.
George Harrison was a Hindu... he was a devotee of the avatar of Vishnu, Krishna... George Harrison had nothing to do Jesus....just a fyi...lol...😊
@@pownbnull Exactly.
♥️
Hi Team Coco! Is it possible you can enable the automatic generated subtitles feature in your videos? My deaf grandfather can't enjoy Conan videos anymore :(
cool username image! www.dailymotion.com/video/x451fm
conan was one of the only late night shows to feature king crimson!
You have to enable that feature in your UA-cam preference settings under "playback and performance".
Nobody cares
@@zebunker well, huh, actually... /pushes nerd glasses up/ tech'nically speaking, at least one (1) individual clearly does care, so... /laugh-snort/ i mean, right there... /adjusts nerd glasses/ your hypothesis doesn't really /swallow/ amount to anything.
@@soth1sol He is right. Nobody cares what he thinks. No need to argue with him on that point.
“So he was brain damaged at the time?” Lol
Worse, he was English
Bad comment. Guy died of brain tumor
Eric Hughes don’t be an SJW🙂
I think a "frontal lobotomy" is in order here, or maybe a reversible for you're messed up to begin with
I lost it when I heard that😂😂
The ending of this clip is just perfect
When I was five, my mom introduced me to the first album I ever heard, which was in fact, Revolver. I'm 21 now and it is still one of my top favorite albums of all-time. I would've loved to meet George.
I could listen to Martin short all day. Haha
i'm constantly reminded of his scene in the show taxi when reverend Jim picks his tv shows.Ii can't believe I'm letting a cab driver do my job for me, Jim responds-Don't worry if you could do your job right you would. This cracks me up
"so he was brain damaged at the time" is one of my favorite Conan interjections ever
You are in elite company if you manage to get high with a Beatle.
You must not be getting the good stuff if you can't get high off one toke.
@Great White Great White obviously can't afford the good stuff, lol.
Better yet getting high with The Director of Red October, Predator, Die Hard 1& 3, The Thomas Crown Affair etc...
I got stoned with Allen Ginsberg once. Does that count?
Querent2000 naked?
I would imagine George would have loved Martin Short's style of humor
"Ah, the Sixties!" That about sums it up.
Martin's such a legend... Just too funny!
I just love Martin Short. He is a gift for us all.
Say what you want about George but he was a man with a great sense of humor and just had a great outlook on life. Also Martin short is hilarious as always 😂😂😂😅
1 of 3 of the best wits in the game! martin short is just next level comedic genius!
They need to get marty and jeff goldblum on together. Those two always manage to turn my day around.
I see Martin Short, I click! 😂😂
You know Martin Short is so interesting and he keeps your attention, usually conan is always interrupting his guests and talking over them but he was just letting (mostly) Martin tell his awesome story
I could listen to these three talk for hours.
Conan is the type of guy who could tell you a joke 10 times in a row and still make you laugh every time.
"So, I had a patient once, I would not reveal his name, but he directed star wars" (Psychologist to Larry David in Curb your Enthusiasm)
Ikr lmao. Didn't reveal the couples' name but the movie he directed
@@darkgravityplay1904 I think he was referring to Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, actually. That would be the "fabulous Hollywood couple".
This video is pure gold. Love these three and this is a great story told by the legend Martin. One of the Three Amigos, lest we ever forget.
There's a huge difference between an actor telling a story and a performer telling a story.
When Martin repeated, “would anyone like to hear my Wilburys album?”, he sounded like Paul 💀
Martin Short tells the best stories
Conan makes fun of him, but Martin's impression of George Harrison is actually pretty decent xD
Martin Short lives up to his name next to Conan. He stands up and Conan can still see over his shoulders while sitting.
we see you Andy!
get it
What a great story.
This is the single greatest story I have ever heard in my life.
I love his impression its so wrong its right
Great story about George from over 30 years ago, loved it. But Martin Short never fails to deliver the goods; one of the funniest comedians of the past 50 years.
Martin is who makes bill hader laugh the most, thats why im here.
Conan is the best!
What a crazy edit to end on.
why did it seem like the audience hesitated for a moment and pondered when he said george harrison until he said he got high with him hahaha
That last line cracked me up!
Bloody brilliant Beatle story
Just imagine hanging out with him, but both of you are high, I know if I was ever high with Marty Short I would be dying of laughter.
That's gotta be one of the greatest histories martin short has, and he has millions
Love me some Marty.
My favorite Three-amigo!
Martin Short, finally!
Martin Short can take an insult laugh it off and own up to it. What a man.
I love this story!!
I love Martin short!! Great story!!!!
Every 80s baby loved this man!
Love martin short. Three amigos!
awhhhhh, the 60s
george is gold
George was the funniest Beatle.
The Beatles are very iconic .
hilarious stuff. I love Martin Short!
Wow....Thanks Martin! I'm with you on this.
Martin is the best physical comedian ever.
Omg that's so awesome lol I read harrison Ford on the title , was pleasantly surprised
This story lives up to the title.
Fantastic!!!
I love when a comedian can keep up with Conan and in this case surpass him. (sorry Conan
I love this guy
Amusing until the end....then it killed!
The best story teller ever.
Absolutely fantastic!!!!
Lol🤣💜 He is awesome!
This is a most excellent story. My day is enriched beyond expectations.
You know that Pat Sajak is such a decent guy I must say.
loved Martin and Conan's jib jab, watch it!
Ooh, what a lucky man he was to get stoned with George!
Legend.
Happy Birthday & RIP George!
Martin Short is my idol.
I would love if Martin Short, Barry Manilow and Rod Stewart appeared together on one show. Just to disprove my theory that they are the same person!
badum chhh
He tells this story in his book and told it on Conan last year. This is the third time I'm hearing this story, come on Marty hahaha
❤️ Martin Short.
Martin Short is a great story teller.
What an awesome story
What I dig about stories of stars meeting any of the Beatles is none were jerks. My take is that could be themselves bcuz they knew who they were, how huge they were but with John he was just about the creation of great music as the others but I don't believe he gave a damn about the same after the real early years it's whyhis interviews were only serious when it was time to be serious like talking about racism or politics and war but about the Beatles he could care less he knew they were great so he started to use his celebrity platform for good like most did back then like Ali or Dylan etc many females as well Linda Ronstadt or Joni Mitchell. Different times I'm only 42 but my generation is trying to use music but there's too many idiots out there that don't understand "All we are saying, is give peace a chance". ☮️ 💜
I love this gentleman
Marty is sooooo funny !!!!!!
I think this is the first story he's ever told on Conan, like decades ago.
Great Canadian here!
Nice show
Peace and Love!
Beautiful story!!! The 60 lol
This story makes me feel good about myself. George debuts the Travelling Wilburys album can't keep people's attention at a party is amazing. And someone shushing George to watch Hunt for Red October makes me wish I was there.
Fabulous story :D
