@John Micheal Kane the podcast is definitely changing the way he talks to people. He seems more natural and like he cares about the guests more. It also has to do with the guests because now he’s choosing people he really likes and cares about instead of having guests there just because they’re promoting a movie or show.
Martin has to be the most naturally funny person to ever exist. He has no off switch, but when he gets rolling it's just punch after punch.

I remember that Martin Short in some interview basically said that he has a voice in his head that always just makes insult jokes about everything that's happening around him and he just doesn't say the jokes since he doesn't want to hurt people's feelings since he doesn't actually mean what he would be saying but the jokes in his head are funny nevertheless. Anyways, so Jiminy Glick was invented by him as a way to not hold back on the insult jokes but also as a way to not hurt people's feelings since it would be obvious that it's the jokes aren't meant to hurt people's feelings but rather they're extremely funny comments that need to be said.

@@color.8467 The very short version of it is, Conan got the Tonight's Show, after Jay Leno retired (the tonight's show is the top tier of the "late shows") Conan had it for 7-8 months, The network gave Jay Leno a show and wanted to put it in the timeslot where he was when he was on the Tonight Show, bumping Conan an hour later, and essentially remaking the tonight's show. Conan disagreed and they gave him the boot to give Jay Leno the tonight's show back

I remember that episode where martin short went on late night and showed Conan this clip like it was yesterday. It was freaking funny. I remember Conan saying, why do i look like the kid from the movie mask, and Martin said “all this time and you didn’t know” lol everyone started to laugh. Ive been looking for this clip for years.

I haven't had cable in a decade so have been getting my Conan fix from UA-cam for years. Watching and rewatching all the greats. I can't wait for his HBO Show. He truly is a talent for the ages, and seems like a great guy. You can tell because his staff love him to pieces.

@@KTmin3 Norm defended Louie CK and Roseanne during their "cancellation", then used the phrase "You'd have to be retar...I mean, have down syndrome, to think that..." and Jimmy Fallon's staffers got wind of it and allegedly cried because Norm was in the building, and Jimmy Fallon had to personally ask Norm to leave the dressing room and cancel his Tonight Show appearance, and then very shortly after that Norm was cancelled from appearing on the Conan show, and has never appeared on either since.
I am going to miss this show so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of wishes cast and crew I hope to see you all again soon!!

Whoever handled the makeup for that skit was spot-on in making Martin look like Conan. Of course, Martin's ability to act had a lot to do with making it convincing as well.

@@newwavepop I dug through the guests lists of the old show over on Wiki-- I believe it was season 6, February 25, 1999, and the model/actress was "Sarah O'hare". I am not familiar with her work; she's married to one of Rupert Murdoch's sons.
This is the only appearance Martin Short had on the old show that fits, at least.
