Here's a few tips: 1. 17:47 The kick and snare are getting chopped off. You're wrong, this isn't a step sequencer, it's still a piano roll. You need to stretch out the midi notes a little bit longer to make the drums play properly. I watched and thought you were going to go back and lengthen the notes to make the drums play fully but you didn't. 2. 6:25 Press the little Fold button to hide notes that are not in the scale. 3. Use the compressor to sidechain the 808 bass and the kick drum. It's quick and easy to do. Learn how to do it. The glue compressor is a very good at toughening up drums. Next step. You need to learn how to chop up breakbeats and loop and sync them using warp markers. You need to master this next, it's very important. Keep going, you've nearly got this!
On Ableton 12 you can split the notes in many ways such as CTRL + E and the arrow keys or E + CTRL and drag up and down with the mouse and then you can create different roll with time warp MIDI functions.. on Mac these shortcuts change ..
Yo did u know you can drop the drum rack sounds when u played them to the midi via drag and drop to the playlist I found that out late just text to drag and drop
I like FL Studio workflow personally, I think Ableton's advantage is how they handle audio files. They have the best workflow in terms of audio manipulation and now they're getting some of the midi stuff right, so we'll see.

Using loop functions within midi clips you'll find Ableton more easy of FL .. I'm using Ableoton from two months and I'm loving it
