Kyle, Thank you so much for this video. Your explanation of how you were feeling in college- wanting to do something more with your life... being stuck in the same town since you were born and wanting a new and exciting experience is EXACTLY why I'm going to be enlisting. I've also been trying to explain to family that not all jobs in the air force are even relatively close to combat. So thank you so much. You basically just verified my confidence in joining.

At 5:34 when you are talking about how most soldiers won't see combat even if you were in a long time, its actually accurate my dad was in the air force for 20 years and never saw combat.

    • @benbarnes89
      @benbarnes89 9 років тому +1

sounds a little like my dad he was Navy, he wasn't in 20 years he was only in a short time it was his choice. Anyways he would have been on a ship however, his job was never needed to be on a ship. So basically he was TDY most of the time but my family got to travel with him. When he got out though it 1) he says gave my sister and I a normal life 2)helped him get a great job and 3) with the time he has at his job now+time in navy(military) with the years combined he can retire. He still chooses to work though. So the military will take anyone far as long as you are able to take care of yourself.

Coming from someone who was in the USAF, stationed at Misawa Air Base and was a in V-OPS here are a few tips for you:
    1. Get a translation book, trust me you'll need it. OR; make friends in the JASDF like I did.
    2. Have a road side emergency kit for your car. Motor oil, trans fluid, jumper cables, tool set, a good car jack, ETC.
    3. get assigned to the main island you'll see a lot cooler stuff. Nothing against Kadena but, Yokota and Misawa are much better IMO.
    4. Enjoy your time overseas. If you can transfer to USAFE later do it as well I was at RAF Mildenhall and Misawa AB. Best decisions of my life man stay safe and keep up the good work.

love all your videos man, you give people a whole different perspective about the Air Force. I have my parents watching your videos so that they can understand it a little more instead of just going by what their friends say. I have a long way from now till BMT (August) but I continuously watch your videos everyday just so I can learn more bout the little things. THANKS FOR THE VIDS

Thank you for the videos, yes! You are correct. They keep telling me that like; I will not have a life, no friends no time to go out. And discouraging me to just give up. This is what I want, no reservation and no hesitation. I am looking forward for new experiences. Thanks again!!

Hey Kyle. My parents wanted me to join the Air Force and they were like "you should totally do it! It would be fun. Eccpecially if you went to Japan or Norway" and I was very opposed to it and thought it would be terrible. But now after I watched your video I honestly am not opposed to serving anymore. And acctually I'm going to sign my contract next weekend!! Thanks Kyle you are a very inspiring person and I wish you best of luck with your career and maybe I'll see you around one day :D

I just wanted to leave a comment to let you know that I've been following your channel ever since you made your BMT video about what you brung. I'm only 16 1/2 now but I definitely know that I'm going to be going into the Air Force. I'm going to be going in as Security Forces, I've done a lot of research on it and have definitely heard a lot of negativity about it, but I'm still going through with wanting to be in the Security Forces. I really can't wait to be in the Air Force, eventually I wanna be like you and have a youtube account dedicated to updating others about different things including my life. I really enjoy watching your videos, it helps me ignore a lot of things I have to deal with right now. Please never stop uploading man! You're pretty much living my dream life right now, and that helps assure me that my life will be great in the future! But again, really, thank you for explaining everything I've needed to know about the Air Force and entertaining me with your vlogs!

I'm 35 and your videos are really, really making me think long and hard about whipping my butt into shape and join the airforce. The only wild card is my little niece who I'm very close to, and the only real male role model in her life. If anything else you could have a bright future in recruiting.

Thank you so much for the video! :) My dad is a veteran (USMC) and none of my siblings (4 o' them) went into the army. He's pretty disappointed. I also really want to go into the military, to do something more with my life and have experiences I never would have. The Air Force is something I've been thinking of, I've heard it's one of the best branches for LGBT+ and women (both of which I am). Currently, I'm a sophomore in HS so I still have a lot to think about and a few years to decide, but this helped with quite a few of the questions I had.

I think many people get their ideas of military life from television and movies. In the realm of comedy check out "Gomer Pyle - USMC." Sure, it's a sitcom, but there are some military life snippets from that era. Also, "No Time for Sergeants" is another great film. And we can't forget "M*A*S*H." It's amazing how quickly the rules change. For example, there was a time when GIs needed a commander's approval to get married.

awesome video as usual man. I'm from The Bahamas but I'm an American citizen. I recently received an email from my recruiter with a pre qualification sheet. I filled it out and sent it back to him and I'm now waiting his response so we can make an appointment. I really want to join the Air Force to gain some discipline in my life, do something meaningful that I and my family can be proud of and I also want to be able to serve my country to the best of my ability. The career field I'm interested in is Diagnostic Imaging. Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work.

Hey Kyle, my brothers a marine in Okinawa right now, you might run into him, and from what im hearing air force life is a lot more easy going, marines have to have buddies when leaving the base and they are always getting cracked down on

Trying to join the air force myself. I'm 34 and have a good job, but I have been wanting to join so I'm going for it. Thanks for spending the time on making your videos. I too am color blind. Its too bad there isn't more jobs for guys with this "problem" even though I can so most colors. Its just certain shades of some colors. Keep up the good work.

+keepitdown07 The cut off age for USAF is actually 27 man. You can still get into the Navy, Army or Coast Guard if you enlist ASAP.

I'm kind of surprised people get free time like that. Media cliches left me thinking the military forces you to be on call all the time, but maybe that's only if you have to be on the ground in a war.
